What's the point of covering up "liquor store," when the chick drinks T-Bird by the quart? Man some things are just back asswards...just a...pun intended...fat sound at any rate
Lenny Hutter, the lead, died a couple years ago.If you lived in Brooklyn from Myrtle Ave. & Wychoff Ave. on down , you may remember the group. Lenny was with The Five Discs for a short time.
I believe they tried to cover up the word "liquor store." But am I imaginging things, or does the lead singer sing, at some point, "She eats like a pig, and f--- like a whore?" Maybe it's no coincidence that the same label that reissued this song also reissued "Peppermint Stick."
I boought this record in Times Square music back in the early 60's. But I remember on the original there some parts thst hsd an instrument playing over the word and you really couldn't hear the word. This version was totally understandable.
Longer fade than I recall too...ace post...
