His perseverance and determination are truly inspiring. It doesn't matter if you agree with the war he fought in or not, this man in a hero. People who have in much, much better give up much more easily. I would feel honored to meet him.

@ulia420 This man didn't serve your country, he served the Bush administration interests for oil and all the mega- corporations that make profit with war. These corporations don't have a flag, they don't care about human feelings and they count on your nationalistic moral to boost their profit out of people's misery. The more misery the better.

I believe that in his heart he was fighting for the people of the United States of America because that is what my husband believes. @ulia420 I mean in no way to offend you, but have you seen many rich people's sons and daughters fighting in the front lines in these wars? Your country has a mercenary army, you may feel in your heart that a soldier has higher motives, but there is a dependency in terms of profession and that's something you have to consider. In general, the lower educational/financial level someone has, the more likely is to be uber-religious like the extremists you mention. But is there really any choice?

I agree with you in some ways, especially when it comes to many rich Americans, but also I have to add that many military members here in the US are extremely intelligent and very educated and they simply want to be part of the US forces. It’s also the pride thing and following the footsteps of their forefathers. Well you can say it's the choice.

He just cracks me up with his attitude. He doesn't miss an opportunity to "ham it up" with the leg stretching. And the "first handshake standing up"... that's not looking at the glass half full... that's the glass overflowing!
