  • while I was waiting for my flight in the Fiji airport I met two sisters who had been visiting Tonga, and when we heard a Te Vaka song on the radio we got all sad and were bummed that they dont play stuff like that in the U.S.

  • It's not Tongan,Tahitian, or Samoan it's Tokelauan which is why it sounds Samoan.

  • yea they are tahitian! i meant to write tahitian but i dont know where tokelauan came from lol...my bad

  • Te Vaka is a unique group of twelve musicians and dancers from

Tokelau, Tuvalu, Samoa, Cook Islands, and New Zealand bought

together under the inspired leadership of Opetaia Foai, "one of

    New Zealands finest song writers".

  • its tahitian

  • It's Tokelauan

  • is this song samoan? cause im part tongan part samoan and it kinda sounds samoan im not sure though

  • Comment removed

  • oh lol my bad thanks!

  • Its a mixture of Tokelauan, Tuvalu, Samoan, and other Oceanic (Polynesian, Micronesian, Melanesian) groups. Basically, their music is Oceanic based. To say they are one group and not the other is an insult to their music.
