I was just wondering... I don't recognize the creature in 0:38 or 0:39 (the one that leaps towards the camera). Can anybody tell me which episode it was in?
It's people like iampotts02 that caused this show to get cancelled. A bunch of immature kids who just wanted more of the same formula from Sg1 and Atlantis, "Get in to trouble, science, EXPLOSIONS, credits" SGU Had fantastic characters and acting and if you say the plot was bad, did you even see when they found out what destiny's mission is? Because as soon as they said what it was I couldn't wait for a season 3, 4, 5, 6...it was not a "soap in space" if you think it was you're a complete idiot.

@MsCcProductions I loved sg1 and sga right off the bat! I didnt do that with sgu! But I keep watching it and I never liked it.It didnt have anything to do with the financial part.It was the characters being so lame and the story was to much like a soap show in space.It was nothing like sga or sg1 and if it was it would still be on! What I loved about the other two shows sgu and none of it.No crazy andventures and no crazy aliens oh and no loveable characters.At least not for me!

I watched it up until the middle of the second season.I really wanted to get into it.Sg1 and SGA will go down as my top two favorite shows.Its to bad SGU was so bad as it was.They should have stuck with what they do best! That is great characters and great story! Im not a fan of Glactica and SGU reminded me of that show as well a soap show im not a fan of those!

I have watched Stargate now and then for as long as I can remember, but it wasn't until Universe when I really got hooked into the universe of the franchise. And the only Stargate I absolutely wanted to buy on DVD. Still waiting for season 2 to be released here - sad that after that it's over.

SyFy screwed around with the schedule, the first few episodes weren't as strong as they could be and people didn't tune in because they were watching network tv. If anything this show breathed fresh air into a dying formula. No more hero characters who get used to forward the plot alone. SyFy was pretty much the deciding factor in it's cancellation. They didn't want anymore MGM didn't have the money.

This was the only Stargate show that hooked me and kept me so through it's entire run. I found it on Netflix and watched one after the other almost non-stop.
@lolguymilne I agree that the show was a lot more realistic but at the same time it was way too dark, it was an interesting show but not in the same way as SG-1 and Atlantis were. It lacked a sense of adventure the the other two series had. Also on order to maintain it's premise and get it's story arcs across it had to ignore several key pieces of continuity (I leave you to guess which ones I'm talking about). Universe is an inverted version of SG-1 and that works but not was well as it could.
Sarah Palin runs the SyFy channel now stupidity is in control, cancellation of a good show is a great example, notice that there is wrestling on a science fiction channel? I don`t have to say more

I guess that the SGU's demise proved that it's become a great show -- and naturally, all great shows get cancelled -- see what happened to Firefly and others! After a very long time, we won't see any new Stargate around.. Hopefully, it's just temporary and soon we manage to persuade the investors that Stargate is worth their money!

Season 2 of SGU was very good, and going places. Much better than season 1. Even though most of season 1 I found to be bad.. I still watched every episode, and watched season 2 to give it another chance, and boy was I happy I did. Amazing....
The stargate series's have been my favourite show ever! Universe was a bit tense and dark though - had no humor and very little planets and culture... still i am really bummed it got cancelled.
MGM do you hear us? Bring back SGU! Let SyFail plays with them stupid wrestling & "(un)real kitchen" ... I'll hope you are smarter. Stargate fanbase is really world-wide & HUGE! We'll keep Destiny's mission
MGM and syfy are doing a stupid decision about cancelling the show. Everybody knows that the season 2 was of high class and everybody agree that season 2 was fantastic compare to season 1 which was not what we expected. Anyway my point is cancelling the show now is a bad decision. They should have kept for one more season then decide if they really want to cancel or keep it.
Now, there is a chance to save SGU, join official website of the campaign: dgz.ro/stargate-universe, vote there, and by all means and social sites find on campaign page, share it, for a hope that we will see a 3rd season. Let's save it togeter, all fans arround the world.

SGU has been officially canceled. this happened when it was half way through season 2. Syfy is still contractually obligated to run the 2nd half of the season.
That sucks.. because the first 10 episodes of season 1 weren't that 'interesting' but after the whole 'cast introductions' have passed, it started getting better and better.
I believe SG1 was about the same.. were the start wasn't that interesting.
What will happen with Stargate now since SGU is ending?

Mainly due to money rather than love. Since SiFi was changed to SyFy, their focus from Science Fiction to Fantasy changed to be more family orientated, as such the darker feel to SGU made it less family, as such the producers in their short sited point of view decided to end the series, even though it has more viewership than the original SG1.

SGU lacks any of the fun and sophistication that made the other Stargate shows good. Imagine the best art student at a school, now imagine that he is envious of how popular the football team is, so he ditches all his former art friends, throws away his brushes and try's out for the football team. The problem is that he sucks at sports. But now he thinks it is too late for him to get back into art so he sticks with it. He has given up his future just so he could be like everyone else.
i'll give you that it lacks the fun of SG1 ... that most definately! but common, the SGA cast was in almost every aspect a ripoff of the SG1 cast, with the roles and skills slightly realigned, but basically the same! which inspite of the great cgi & so on, was just a continuous repetition!
the producers at least showed some balls when designing a more edgier and adult version of all that in SGU! and are inspite of the great work they did, being punished now! thats just absurd ...
@bigcool89 It's not emo! It's darker and more serious in tone. Levity is tempered very cautiously on this series. It's fitting though, further away from home than anyone has or could ever be, NOTHING FAMILIAR to fall back on and almost no control. Comedic moments seem very inappropriate for most of the time. While the grim shadow over the characters is very appropriate.
0:52 Total cool alien voice... I think I will do that every time now I drink milk, and make alien gurgle noises... :-) BTW: One of the best scifi series ever. Maybe even better than Battlestar Galactica (the new one), because it have some more pace IMHO. Totally crazy to cancel this show if it ends with only 2 seasons....

sg1 is way better then universe,in the next episodes it should be like this:they finally get to the signal and they find a huge enormus ship that would be made out of smaller ships ant then they would see that the ship destiny fits in the middle of them.later they would find remains of the ancients beacouse something bigger than anything before has destroyed them.and then the good guys and the bad gusy would have to work together to destroy it.
I just saw E13 and I must say I am really sick of STU. They should have accepted their mission a long time ago, they should have replaced some characteres with some funny guys and head on through the universe meeting aliens who join them and so on. This is girls scrap really, way too much drama and boring conversations about their mamas and papas and the who is bangin who. I am really sick of it!
the reason why the ratings were so low is because they took everything out that made the other shows great and came up with sgu! the actors sucked and the story was lame and slow! was there even aliens in sgu? The other shows had such a great cast and really cool adventures! Hell they should have come up a new alien like sga did! @iampotts02 I seem to recall several kinds of aliens. If you don't count the bugs the the squiggler snakes that burrow into your chest and pop out the back end- they harvested venom from for anesthetics and then the blue aliens in the other ship that keeps chasing Destiny. More alien-like than any of the bipedal aliens in the milkyway or pegasus. and more interesting to look at than the asgard. At least that for season 1. There's also the robot drones on the drone ship they encounter.

As to my opinion, the show had three factions in the beginning. There were the civilians, the IOA, and the military. Their "coping" skills is only indicative of what was heard of and glimpsed in SG1, and SGA. The show developed a plot, now its gone. Eh.

@renardthatch if any of sga or sg1 people got stranded away from home having no idea where they are, they would keep their heads straight and perform their duty properly likewise when sga entered atlantis they immediately took hold of the entire base following several military procedures, I saw nothing of the sort in sgu except i completely random people (not actual people who were working on THE destiny) got thrown to destiny, they performed like that.
and that's the end of stargate...i hope the one who made this decision will die in pain and will remember every single day of his remaining life of his decision...die, u bastard!!!! maybe if they make stargate extinction and the third stargate sg-1 movie, i'll let them live...:D

I don't understand why people don't like this show. I mean... watch it and you'll see how awesome it is. Who cares if there's not a main villan? The point is all the characters and how they react to the situation they are in. It gives you all the points of view and lets you decide who to like and who to hate. It creates arguements between fans about which character is better and which ones are complete asses. That's what a show should do. (Nothing against SG-1 or SGA tho, love those too =P)

@quizzisation 2 bsg started real good but they fkt up to the end to the part that that there no batle sceens just pshilological dilemas like am i a cilon or should we make baltar pay for what hapen to new caprica thats ok but the show should have revolved on the battle for survival more. to the end you well see that the batles scenes are avoited and even omited from the show (the batles were the only thing real good on the show)

I have seen a lot of people say that SGU sucks because it's different. Well it's different but in a good way. If only there is a season 3 I am sure there will be new aliens to see and new planets to explore.

@lolguymilne I agree that the show was a lot more realistic but at the same time it was way too dark, it was an interesting show but not in the same way as SG-1 and Atlantis were. It lacked a sense of adventure the the other two series had. Also on order to maintain it's premise and get it's story arcs across it had to ignore several key pieces of continuity (I leave you to guess which ones I'm talking about). Universe is an inverted version of SG-1 and that works but not was well as it could.

I guess that the SGU's demise proved that it's become a great show -- and naturally, all great shows get cancelled -- see what happened to Firefly and others! After a very long time, we won't see any new Stargate around.. Hopefully, it's just temporary and soon we manage to persuade the investors that Stargate is worth their money!

Season 2 of SGU was very good, and going places. Much better than season 1. Even though most of season 1 I found to be bad.. I still watched every episode, and watched season 2 to give it another chance, and boy was I happy I did. Amazing....

MGM and syfy are doing a stupid decision about cancelling the show. Everybody knows that the season 2 was of high class and everybody agree that season 2 was fantastic compare to season 1 which was not what we expected. Anyway my point is cancelling the show now is a bad decision. They should have kept for one more season then decide if they really want to cancel or keep it.

SGU has been officially canceled. this happened when it was half way through season 2. Syfy is still contractually obligated to run the 2nd half of the season.

That sucks.. because the first 10 episodes of season 1 weren't that 'interesting' but after the whole 'cast introductions' have passed, it started getting better and better.
I believe SG1 was about the same.. were the start wasn't that interesting.

Why did they stop producing the Series ?
Mainly due to money rather than love. Since SiFi was changed to SyFy, their focus from Science Fiction to Fantasy changed to be more family orientated, as such the darker feel to SGU made it less family, as such the producers in their short sited point of view decided to end the series, even though it has more viewership than the original SG1.

SGU lacks any of the fun and sophistication that made the other Stargate shows good. Imagine the best art student at a school, now imagine that he is envious of how popular the football team is, so he ditches all his former art friends, throws away his brushes and try's out for the football team. The problem is that he sucks at sports. But now he thinks it is too late for him to get back into art so he sticks with it. He has given up his future just so he could be like everyone else.

i'll give you that it lacks the fun of SG1 ... that most definately! but common, the SGA cast was in almost every aspect a ripoff of the SG1 cast, with the roles and skills slightly realigned, but basically the same! which inspite of the great cgi & so on, was just a continuous repetition!
the producers at least showed some balls when designing a more edgier and adult version of all that in SGU! and are inspite of the great work they did, being punished now! thats just absurd ...

It's fitting though, further away from home than anyone has or could ever be, NOTHING FAMILIAR to fall back on and almost no control. Comedic moments seem very inappropriate for most of the time. While the grim shadow over the characters is very appropriate.

sg1 is way better then universe,in the next episodes it should be like this:they finally get to the signal and they find a huge enormus ship that would be made out of smaller ships ant then they would see that the ship destiny fits in the middle of them.later they would find remains of the ancients beacouse something bigger than anything before has destroyed them.and then the good guys and the bad gusy would have to work together to destroy it.

the reason why the ratings were so low is because they took everything out that made the other shows great and came up with sgu! the actors sucked and the story was lame and slow! was there even aliens in sgu? The other shows had such a great cast and really cool adventures! Hell they should have come up a new alien like sga did! A big reason why i didnt like the sgu was because of the cast even there stories sucked big balls! it was a soap show in space yeah no thanks! sug was a big pile of poo

@iampotts02 I seem to recall several kinds of aliens. If you don't count the bugs the the squiggler snakes that burrow into your chest and pop out the back end- they harvested venom from for anesthetics and then the blue aliens in the other ship that keeps chasing Destiny. More alien-like than any of the bipedal aliens in the milkyway or pegasus. and more interesting to look at than the asgard. At least that for season 1. There's also the robot drones on the drone ship they encounter.

@renardthatch if any of sga or sg1 people got stranded away from home having no idea where they are, they would keep their heads straight and perform their duty properly likewise when sga entered atlantis they immediately took hold of the entire base following several military procedures, I saw nothing of the sort in sgu except i completely random people (not actual people who were working on THE destiny) got thrown to destiny, they performed like that.

I don't understand why people don't like this show. I mean... watch it and you'll see how awesome it is. Who cares if there's not a main villan? The point is all the characters and how they react to the situation they are in. It gives you all the points of view and lets you decide who to like and who to hate. It creates arguements between fans about which character is better and which ones are complete asses. That's what a show should do. (Nothing against SG-1 or SGA tho, love those too =P)
