  • Interesting concept

  • Comment removed

    onbekent welke.

  • De zeven provinciën class boven alles!!! :D

  • looks more like a yacht

  • Dutch navy up to its slogan "We are not defeated"

  • I think I saw a dolphin! Nice jump guys <3

  • @sandyblonde1 haha you know one submarine from Holland his name is "De Dolfijn" ("The Dolphin")??

  • @ikbenikenmijismij No I didn't know that yet. But this vis is awesome, :P

  • We might be small, but we live with the water, and we ruled the seas in the 17th century, water is what we live with. It's a common answer for americans to say: holland, what's that?

  • @barthoedemaker the americans live with a little bit more water dude. Just like the italians. and the spanish. and boy, is that 17th century a long time ago.

  • @stahlwerke and since the 17th century, Dutch navy has been better... Is it so hard to see that knowledge is power? American navy won't even be able to get close to Dutch navy technology-wise... And btw, say thanks for Goalkeeper we developed, saved loads of your lives during your wars.

  • portugal and belgium will buy your entire navy >:D

and destroy the dutch with their own ships

when will these be sold to us?

  • @cubosensaj Portugal first needs to figure out his own financial buisness and then they might upgrade

  • @Samiosamio111 No, first we in Portugal need to figure out how we will live after we paid for the 2 new state of the art U-209PN submarines "NRP Arpão" and "NRP Tridente". LOL Then we may sell the frigates we bought from you and resell it to Chile so we can still maintain our nice MEKO frigates.. (just kiddin)

  • @cubosensaj Dont worry, we only sell when the new blueprints for something better are on the table and ready to go.

We have been doing so, for give or take 500 years now.

  • @bladieblaad You have a tiny-ass navy taking pride in selling crap to a poor country in Europe. Wow.

  • @bladieblaad

  • @cubosensaj when its junk for us you smartass

  • @MTXwhites so the m-class is junk

  • @cubosensaj when its old yeah and btw when portugal buys these ships we get new ones. Have a good time with ya SECOND HAND boats.

  • @MTXwhites

    Hey,

do we really get NEW ones ?

because i heard they sell a lot of ships..

    Zo jammer !

  • the Holland fleets will be gone soon, Defense Primister has sold Half of all the materials!

our military have been fired with 60.000 men and woman.

  • @BlackLethalDragon

    i hate the defenseminister :(

  • @Calvarienberg Holland class OPV's, will be ahead of his time. De zeven provincien, the best frigate if not 2nd best frigate in the world. Karel Doorman class, these will be modernized. The best admirals in history! Holland has longest compulsory school in the world, means that the population is very well educated. This country has everything to start an war on sea.

  • what's the title of the music played?

  • @Calvarienberg Yes, and a big modern navy, with super fregats and several outstanding submarines. They do a lot of good work to protect foreign ships against the Somalien pirats.

  • This reminds me of my time in the Royal Netherlands Navy. I hate the bakground ´noise´ ...mercy... Sounds like war.

  • I read somewhere the designation "frigate" is wrong and that these warships are actually destroyers (based on their rather heavy weaponry, these are no ordinary frigates). They were called frigates for political reasons, because the Dutch government do not want to be seen as warmongers.

  • @Krommak Same with Denmark - we are building 3 new frigates of 6.600 tons and they are done very soon.

But when they started to build them they were actually called "patrol boats" - same goes to our Absalon class - another ship class of 6.600 tons and they were called "patrol boats" in the beginning aswell

  • @Krommak I am working in the danish navy, it is the same debate about our new frigates, they are armed like destroyers but called frigates. This is because there is only a "minimum requirement" to call a ship a frigate or destroyer, but not a "maximum".

At least, that is what i have heard from others... Havent really bothered to look for anything to back that info up.

  • @C32347K17732 Because Holland is an obvious metonymia for The Netherlands is. And not "stupid football supports" say it, but the leading people and I just used soccer as a example because it's shown all over the world and it's all official. You never heard of the word metonymia, so stop saying shit about things you don't know about.

  • Comment removed

  • @C32347K17732 You're stupid.

  • OT: De Zeven Provinciën, the best fregat in the world.. :)

    Proud of the Dutch!

  • @C32347K17732 Let him whine. Holland is an common metonymia for The Netherlands. If you looked at the world championship soccer, everybody used Holland. Nobody cares if it's false except him.. I can say that because I'm not from Holland but from Friesland which is another province.

  • Next time i will call Holland the Netherlands Ok?

and i will call Great brittain England , and the The United states i will call America.

before they get mxed in it aswell:)

  • @C32347K17732

why wouldnt we call it Holland , i kinda like it and are used to it?

when i was younger i didnt even knew the difference, as many other Hollanders :)

  • @C32347K17732

yeah nowdays it is , that was different before 1815 .

then noth and south holland were a country.

today its a province of the netherlands .

but for most holland = the Netherlands .

but i guess when you get official ,your right .

its a part of the netherlands.

but then i can be a dick too and say the definition of a country is a geographical region and holland is a on the map.

so its a geographical region and thus a Country.

    nah nah

  • @C32347K17732

    then what is it ?

    a sea

  • @C32347K17732

    ???

What do you mean Holland is not a Country.

its just another name for our country.

its the same as the Netherlands .

    duh

  • in gamer terms. We dutch people are born assisters, we do not own pawn go in for the kill. we assist the ones who do. we can be a vital part of war machine. usually our peers (goverment) don't want to get involved. I say nothing about that, they have their reasons. But our navu is world class at least.

  • mistral warships are also very nice :D

  • @cadwaele Mistral class is LHD, not exactly comparable to frigates like de zeven provinciën >.>

  • @C32347K1773 that is totally irrelevant you know exactly what i mean..

  • name of the song anyone ?

  • 2:10 fucking sexiness

  • OMG this ship is so sexy!!!!!

  • @August81186 lol..learn some politics cuz its not gonna happen..

holland and US are in the NATO so we are allies, not enemies in any form. and if it would come to war, the ducth navy will still be superior to the aged big vessels of the US . the only weapon the US has is its size. (and financials)

  • wait till u see the new frigate of my home land navy Kaliningrad

  • @baltic1284 what is it? a liferaft with a mounted .22 gun on it??XD

  • @cicadafan nono it is a large frigate with a 100 mm 16 vls and more topefoes than a submarine lol. watch the video at kaliningrad navy

  • @baltic1284 hey just watched it . that's an impressive vessel !

i'm joining the ducth navy in 4years or so . i hope i'll have a function as weaponsystemsand radar maintenenant cuz that sounds like a cooljob for me !

  • @cicadafan its our first ship in 65 years so we very proud like u are of ur ships and yeah im in the Navy of my homeland Kaliningrad im a weapon engineer gunner mate in american navy version.

  • Dear Danish Friends , I would like you inform than polish figure who visited one of yours Royal Navy Ship after all instead share with polish citizens about his visit , he criticised you , by saying than members of yours Navy looks lika a WHALES , the name of this figure who represents only himself is Bronislaw Komorowski, he is communist and after killed President Lech Kaczynski he took his position .

  • proud to be a Netherlands neighbour^^

  • It's a great ship, with lots of abilities. Its radar systems and defence systems are one of the most advanced in the world, beside what some people like to think.

The company Holandse Signaal was made famous by the Goalkeeper system, and this ship has an evolved version of that version.

The Dutch don't make the old Draednought warships, for the simple reason that it's not economically viable, nor necessary. USA and fellow NATO countries can take care of that.

  • @blakerocker

Indeed we are just a small country and our main focus will remain brown water operations (coastal waters) and support.

Big fat warships or aircraft carriers are just things we could build if we really wanted to, but we don't as we lack the multi billion budgets of the US navy for example.

Remains that the ships we do build and use are always top of line and something we can be proud off. And even when we sell our older vessels we don't have to wait long as they are wanted :)

  • @blakerocker i totally agree, but isnt Thales the company behind the radar systems?

  • @martijntini

Thales Group(at the time know as Thomson-CSF) took over Holland signaalapparaten in 1990. The Smart-L and APAR systems were developed by Thales Nederland (Netherlands).

  • @Elsido88 Thanks!

  • it has a 127mm autocannon

    English:

Nice Video. By the way, does someone know the name of this song?

  • Australian Navy at 1.42 and 1.45 firing

  • Engineering A+

  • Hermosa marina.

  • Beautiful Navy. She is consistent with the maritime traditions of the Netherlands.

However, its AAW combat systems and radar are still lower than

the american AEGIS and SPY systems. They have been adopted by the navies of Spain (F-100 class and its derivates) Norway, Australia, and in Asia by Japan and South Korea.

  • @Fenicio11 hihi the us navy wanted to test are automatic firing system, they said its was to slow, and they did a test with it in the time the us navy can target 1 ship, we already shot a airplane, and 2 boats down hihihih, dont think you got the biggest milatray you got the best. We small but when it comes to are marine, we are the best in the world!!!! just ask the somalian pirates!!!

  • Nice video of my boyfriends ship

  • Article Dutch Defense Paper: The American Tactical Group Supervisor Lex Hughes reacted astonished, in an announcement he said: "In this area of expertise you are about 6 years ahead of us". The Dutch Marine Officer Rouffear predicted that in the very near future the system will be able to detect ballistic missiles within 2000 kilometers.

  • Wikipedia (NL). Can`t place a link here, don`t why? Tried it, but doesn`t work.

Seek for Smart L wikipedia. nl

In the report Min. of Defence, test radar, more or less by accident during developping a greater range etc. was discovered.

  • Comment removed

  • where does it say that in the near future it will have a 2000km range, thats preety damn good for search radar

  • @mig3535 Aviation Week, No Easy Answers To Missile Defense (Dec 7, 2009 )

As far as I Know, it`s 800-1000 km range. Not 2000 km. Later stage would be 2000 km.

To my opinion developing aegis, same kind of reach, is also going on.

Would be strange if not so.

The Netherlands is US clothest continental alley (besides the UK). May be there is more technological cooperation then we know?

  • Source: Wikipedia

and Ministery of Defence (test radar)

  • Sorry mistake! Test was at 7 dec 2006 near Hawai. Reach Smart L radar: 480 km, but will be 2000 km in the near future.

  • 2000km????

  • @mig3535 indeed no joke

  • @mig3535 The system is capable to do that, but the software required for it, is simply not yet available...

  • Possibly not the best overall ship, but concerning Anti Ballistic warfare one the very few. The Smart radar is the more advanced one from what Britain uses.

Detects 360 degrees high altitude ballistic missiles. USA radars can detect when is known where the missile is fired from. Latest test USA and this type frigate, 2009. USA officers declared they where 5 years behind. No chauffinistic attitude from both sides, but developing and working together!!!

  • The ships are allowed to carry Tomahawks by the USA. All ships will be made ready to carry them. Because a lack of funds missiles will be bought in a later stadium

  • Yea I saw it after your first reply, and I agree :)

    Tanks ;)

  • Hey nice video!

But i have one complain.. I am pretty sure that the misile launch at 01:03 is from a Danish Absalon class ship.

    Otherwise cool vid! ;)

  • or im not "pretty sure" anymore... i actually cant se it.... can some one help me? :P

  • no it is a De Zeven Provinciën class friagte, look at the SMART-L radar in the back, abslon does not have that radar

  • i am pretty sure (totally sure acutally) that it isn't Absalon as their missile systems are placed behind the bridge:)

  • dude just look at the SMART_L radar in the back, Abslon does not have that radar and you crealy see a big black thing in the back of the ship in the video

  • Not an Absalon. It is definately a De Zeven.

  • 1 vs 1 dutch marine ships owns all

  • is that ESSM or SM2 missiles its shooting off?

  • By the shape and trajectory I think it is the SM2.

  • They are actually very similar. The radars and most weapon systems are the same. The only difference are the anti air weapons. SM-2 & ESSM v MBDA Aster 15 & 30. Which are both highly capable systems. They are both able to fit tomahawks, and should both be able to fith sm-3 anti ballistic missile defences.

  • All though im sure it could fit Tomahawks as far as I know the UK is the only country allowed to fit them.

  • The Netherlands were going to purchase several of them, but they were scrapped due to budget. The only catch was they required permission from the US before they could be used the first 5 years.

  • 1:30 is een M-Fregat:D net als 2:04

    wel vette video:)

  • sorry you speak no dutch i think?

i wrote down there that at 1:30 and 2:04

are no De Zeven Provinciën class Frigates but M-Frigates ( M= Multipurpose) and they are lot older and the zeven provicien is a air defense and command frigate:) those are the most modernest navy ships in the world with the latest hard/software :) Germany has them too same technology :)

maybe you did know and otherwise i've explained to you now :D

    cya

  • yeah i know that i have like two clips of Karel Doorman class frigate, the video is suppose to be about the dutch navy ships but i could only get 2 footage of the Karel Doorman so the rest is all De Zeven Provincien
