Yeah I switched to a murano a couple years ago and I swear i thought my transmission was going.. That's what happened to my last car right before the transmission went.

Muranos are fairly fuel efficient. The only downside is that they ask for the higher grade fuel for "best performance"

Not really sure what that means, and they don't really explain it to ya, but better safe than sorry, I guess.

All I know is that the integrated sound system and just the sheer awesomeness of this vehicle was well worth the time that it took to get used to the CVT

i have a murano... took me awhile to get use to the CVT always waiting for it to shift gears but obvisouly it wouldn't.. hahaha... takes awhile to get use to it!!!!

Yeah the srt is light in the back, i seen a srt that had 500 pounds in the back of the bed in a bed box and then it moved, one thing i like about the srt is the top speed, a few mods and they will keep up with anything out there. i think stock top speed is 155-160. but yes the truck needs to have some weight in the back : ) hehe try the race with a full size quad in the back strapped down and a tool box : ) lol

The Mo won, The waay over powered Srt10 that was supercharged, spun the tires half way down the track. 500+ hp under a trk bed = go no where. 265hp with AWD = Go.

that was a Supercharged SRT10 on stock tires, and like all Dodge Automatics they set at the line while imports go down the track.

SRT 10's aren't normally supercharged(as that one didn't sound either).. That's an aftermarket add on. A supercharger will put the truck closer to 700HP!!

This was a supercharged SRT10 and he had around 700hp, the srt10 never hooked up, the AWD murano left it in the 1/8th, im sure he would have caught me in the 1/4. Thou still embarising for the Overpriced Overpowered DODGE

I agree about the trac issue. Don't get me wrong ,...I'm a NISAN fanatic through and through.. Check out my vids.. But it looks like your 1/8 time was @ 9.5-10sec which is about 1.5-2sec slower than the srt10. he must have had terrible trac issues or not known how to drive one. They are tricky.. but a kill is a kill and congrats on the srt10 victory.. Go NISSAN!!!!!!!

i love my murano. the cvt tranny is gonna be just as big as auto, or stick.if not bigger. audi is putting out alot of cvts on there cars. u just wait and see how big the cvt gets

ok just for the info.. It has a CVT transmission. It does not shift, it has "infinitely" many gears and thats why it never shifts so it keeps the engine at its peak power so in the end the average of power put down to the tires (traction) is higher than with gears even if the engine is bigger and more powerful.

well that depends on how you drive it. If you drive it nicely it will stay in very low rpm and get good mpg, if you drive it like you stole it it will sound like in the video at peak rpm :D

I kind of disagree with this . I drove a 2000 nissan sentra with cvt. It had gear selections on the shifter. You could also go from gear to gear. The thing that's wierd is when you floor it while in "D" drive. 40mph floor it , it seems to drop down to lower gear then revs and hits redline and continues to sound that way @ really high rpms without shifting. I raced my friends 2000 maxima (i lost of course), and while racing i thought the little sentra motor sounded like it was gonna blow up.

well yes it has "gears" on the shifter however that is just made for you to get the feel of a manual or also when you need something to stay on one ratio without shifting. As i said a cvt does not have gears. You can set the setting so they feel like gears but again thats for the hype or for certain needs. 

from memory the maxima was 280 hp and the sentra is 160? 180? .... lol

@MBML320 i like the sound sitting at redline because it feels like the engine is working at its best but say if it was an automatic and it shifts from say 6k 4 rpm back down to 4k rpm in the nxt gear; the time at 4k rpm is like "come on, come on, get get back 2 a higher rpm lets go!!". with the cvt it just feels like its using all the potential 2 get u moving..

THAT SRT 10 Supercharged over 500 horsepower spun tires half way down the track. You can have all the horsepower in the world, if you dont have traction a SUV with a V6 will out run you.

Yup! It's true. I own a Murano... and that sucker is quick from the line. The CVT and big Nissan 3.5 V6 that will out-run anything except the high end sports cars. No one has ever beat me at the red light yet.

Best part is, I still get 20mpg city and up to 27mpg on the freeway.

The Murano is what a modern SUV should be.
