  • Isn't a rectifier supposed to be a capacitor of some sort, instead of a resistor?

How do I make a fader LED to work as a Hard Disk activity light or use in a VU-meter?

  • @HoneycombAgent The resistor here represents the load.

A capacitor could be used to "smooth out the bumps", but that goes beyond the simple concept I was trying to illustrate here.

As for your projects, I really don't have any idea.

  • thanks a lot a lot ..now I understand better!!!

  • Thanks for an informative demo.

I am trying to half rectify a phase shift sinewave generater signal with poor results..

All I see is a reduced slightly flat sinewave signal that is very slightly flat on the bottom..

    Do you have any sugestions?
