Good movie.Saw it when it came out back in '73.I believe the original title though was "Hard Driver",co-starring a beautiful Valerie Perrine.

@50marioD The other way around. 'Hard Driver' was for TV broadcast. I have the actual movie studio with the engineers voice directing location of music parts given to me by a family member. Pretty cool

What a great Movie but does anyone remember that this was not the original title to the film. I can't remember what it was but it was not called" The last American Hero" when it first came out.

This is the movie which make me remember this song and this is the song which makes me remember this movie.

That time I was a teenager from the poor asian country, watched this movie in the neighbourhood small cinema in my home country in asia.

I am not sure whether this song make me remember or the movie make me remember but both the movie and the song stuck me in my heart forever. I am now 55 years old.

It's also about the music, Jim Croce. This movie came out in 1973, the year Croce died. This was the only song Croce recorded in a studio - without his guitar. Ingrid, Jim's wife, commented on how uncomfortable Jim was without his guitar...and this was a true experience for him......Just the universe all converging together, that's what this movie is about.
