Sure you will be out of date and I think in less than 2-3 years, just have a look to the new blakberrys that are being sale now, but it's a good smartphone and for users that don't need a lot of extras or applys i a nice smartphone to send e-mails, wacth videos, chat with people etc. The only bad think by my point of view is the cam.. only 2 megapixels. Even so it's a great investment!

Please consider that 2-3 years is a long period of time for mobile phones.

@BuddahM0nster Definitely go with the Curve 9300 (Curve 3G) as it is a great improvement in hardware and software with BlackBerry OS 6 and the same standard features such as BES and great push email service that RIM is known for, I can speak first hand and say that the Curve 3G is a great device and is now my personal phone, it works well, its durable, its got all the BlackBerry Functionality you'd expect and it can suport the new OS, all in all its a good device for a good price
