Oh, and I also tried a plastic bag in the bucket. I used a standard kitchen garbage bag and it seemed to interfere a bit. Didn't really affect the operation but I noticed that the particles were suspended near the bottom of the cyclone.
I just cleaned up a weeks worth of dust and shavings from my lathe and used a new shop vac and I'm telling you I couldn't see any dust in the shopvac bag.
Just bought this today and it worked exactly as advertised. Only quirk is smaller shopvacs with the 1inch hoses dont connect because the inputs on the shop deputy is tapered to accommodate many connections and its too long for the small shopvac hoses
I had to sand a floor with urethane floor finish on it and I am lucky to have had the Dust Deputy!! It trapped the finest dust like magic! Crazy thing is i forgot to put a filter in the shop vac but it seems like nothing made it through to the exhaust that i could detect or see in the air. If you dont own one,GET ONE!!!
so I got one I cant beleive that I didnt have one of these before. awesome for the homeowner. now I just gota build a cart for my shop vac and dust deputy. And then I need to get a new shop vac mine is on its last legs and it doesent hae a blower that I really want. Anyone know anything about the ridgid 14 gal professional? should i spend the extra bucks on the 16 gal or will the 14 work?
wished for one of these for x-mas I sure hope i get one. I wanted it to keep up with a small portable table saw and smaller benchtop machines. and sanders. Does anyone know how well it works with fine sanding dust? I have heard that it will allow small fine dust to bypass the cyclone (not a big deal even large stationary machines are not 100% efficent) Just curious thanks.
this has another very interesting use that i wonder if it's been thought of...excellent, thankyou very much, great for allergy sufferers!!!!!

If you use a thin mil bag that allows the bucket lid to seal, it should have no issues.

@Yeormom
Can someone verify that this works? The bag doesn't get sucked up into the vortex?
