  • our PE teacher tortured us with plyometrics the other day.

    the girls pussied out.

    bwahahahha

  • Excellent work guys! I am Martial Artist, and a weight Loss Fitness Boot Camp Instructor. Plyometrics exercises of this Nature really work the group up. And they love it. This combination is awesome. Keep it up!!

  • BUCKETHEAD

  • Have to say if i tried 3:06 with any of my friends id probably end up with a broken nose. lol

  • Plyometrics are great because of the instant heart rate increase (takes only a couple of minutes till you get your heart pounding).

I like to consider this an alternative to joggin :)

  • I thought that sounded like Randy! Thanks!

  • this looks intense..

    Challenge Accepted.

  • Buckethead! Nice choice of background music!

  • This looks brutal

  • looks easy but do it for about 20 minutes you'd be surprised

  • nice stuff. these exercises look great. i cant wait to teach them to my martial arts students :)

  • How heavy are these medicinebal shown in this video?

  • @SuperMarioSilverback 3-10 pounds

  • intense. will make their agility amazing in a fight

  • plyometrics its almost the same as hiit?

  • my trainer did some plyo workouts on me today and i struggled the whole way

    way harder than conventional exercises

  • These are not plyometrics

  • @terrencevitiello56

please define plyometricis for us ?

  • all i want out of life is to get stronger i have muscle idk it just feels useless sometimes and i want to be able to run 7 miles a day like those guys..

  • @blackjack9165 running a mile and a half was a killer for me months ago, but now im running 8 miles and ready for for more. the key is to go running and build up the distance little by little untill your at the level you want and to run every other day or every 2 days instead of everyday

  • I think people tend to like plyometrics because they are easier than normal cardio or weight workouts.

  • plyometrics is explosive power used mostly in martial arts which creates power into whatever manouver, id be more scared of a 130 lb man who regularly does plyometrics then a 300lb bodybuilder

  • @mcrolla102 agreed

  • Great vid guys! ppl need to stop talking, my philosophy is do what gets u to the gym. but dont put down other ppls wrkouts either, id like to see jay cutler or ronnie coleman hang with these kinda circuits....

  • @s5538 agreed. i dont get the deal with these muscle boys trying to put people down. different strokes for different folks, each athlete and sports need different types of physical conditioning. your 100 something bench presses simply dont do good for everyone!

  • I am a fitness director for Gold's Gym in Temecula, California and I am SOOOO impressed with the HIT training you guys are doing!!! I teach an intense conditoining class that is a combination of kettlebells, medicine balls, plyometrics, tires, rope snaps, trx etc. The crazier the better is my approach & they love my workouts!!!!!! KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK GUYS!!!

  • i m a amateur boxer and we train lot of plymetrics

  • good stuff keep the hard work up boys, its alot harder than it looks

  • great video!

  • great video guys !!

  • haters gonna hate, trolls going to trololol, fucking fat loosers im doing plyometrics and im a fuckin sick cunt hahaha.

  • great vid guys!

  • everyone here talking shit, you guys are fucking clowns. Plyometrics for starters isn't to build mass. I'll leave it at that so i don't waste too much energy. I guarantee some of these fools will embarrass you in a fight.

  • @tmcdougald Yes, it's not about mass- it's getting the most out of what you got! Some of the best MMA fighters are not bulky (and less likely on steroids) but are quick and strong. Principles behind The One Inch Punch.

  • 4:25 guy messes up

  • nothingham lace by buckethead

  • this is a bitch workout. supersetting antagonistic training with HIIT/barbell complexess is all you need....Theres a reason these guys are so scrawny

  • @allaboutmySKRILL they aren't doing it for size dude they're fighters, its a weight goverened sport so they aren't in there trying to get huge for no reason cos then they wont make weight

  • @allaboutmySKRILL lol you're an idiot

  • @allaboutmySKRILL You're a moron

  • @allaboutmySKRILL can you explain what you mean by that? please.

  • haha this is pure bullshit for fags!

  • This looks like a sick workout im gunna teach most of it tomorrow for boxercise

  • Arent you supposed to spring off the ground as fast as possible spending as little time on the ground as possible? In the initial jumping routine with the medicine ball they sink into the mat and seem to do a double or tripple bounce into the mat before the next jump. The right foot on one of the athletes is unstable Do exercises to develop tibialis posterior Like I said barefoot training allows the foot to get exact force on the foot. The shoe squeezes the arch not allowing max impact

  • If you are flat foot, average arch height or cavus (high arch) you can improve the strength of the landing muscles by training them. Do you put a girdle on when your stomach is weak or distended? No You train your abdominals. Muscles determine the ability of bones and groups of bones to resist forces of motion including forces of landings. I can remember working at the 5th African Championships Track and Field and many of the runners had flat foot.

  • These guys are always doing stuff that is going to make their bones ache when your old. You don't need to hold a medicine ball doing jump squats, just use your body weight.

  • @Poopsmith01 Randy Couture one of the guys in the video is 47 years old and he still fights in the ufc so I think he knows a little more about "aches when your old" then you do.

  • Nice stuff! Have you ever thought about how perfect your adaptation could be without the artificial support mechanism of the shoe? I really dont know why footwear is used for plyometrics. Its not used for martial arts or barefoot running. Dr James Stoxen, Developer, Human Spring Approach

  • @TeamDoctorsStore a here alot of people say this. but have you ever thought that some people need support for their feet i.e being flat footed?

  • cool buckethead music in the background...

  • 2:00, that's why we did over bodies in football LOL

  • Pretty creaking intense...I better get down on it, get down on itttttt...lol

  • Is that guy in a black t-shirt nate quarry?

  • I don't remember Randy ever being that tiny!?

  • Awesome shit. Didn't know Randy likes to listen to Buckethead.

  • buckethead playing for the win.

  • oh ,that's superman training

  • I like this vid because of Randy

  • Sounds hilarious but plyo training can help with injury prevention too. your reactive capacity increases from doing them. so, lets say you walking on ice and slip, you will probably be able to catch yourself better from having done this kind of training,

  • where would i find stable n high enough boxes for this?

  • @idontknoe58 you can buy specific plyo boxes

  • Great video!.. this helped me out alot. Thanks!!!

  • is that randy couture talkin in the backround

  • omg these guys are fukin hot

  • @misterioreyrey y si se murio hace mucho tiempo quien se me va a morir? yo? el perro ? GALLEGO IGNORANTE

  • this is great stuff

  • balance and agility apply to all sports in one way or another... moiphy

  • love this for my clients that like more- marathoners, athletes, weekend sports fanatics...for my meatheads..they limit themselves so they will groan and bench press some more..thanks for tip on sprinkler boxes much cheaper than plyo boxes

  • is that randy couture?

  • Horrible plyometrics. They've done these for a long time and their nervous behavior still shows(them looking down).

  • Very clear narration explaining the details of each exercise. Thank you very much for uploading.

  • randy = FEROCIOUS FUCKIN BEAST

  • Would this stunt my growth? Im 13 and 5 foot

  • @ilovemusicfyi these types of workouts are designed for high-level athletes. your not even in highschool yet so id stick to jogging a mile and push-sups/squats. Doing these can damage ur body because you are still growing and dont need any extra stress on your developing muscles.

    keep practicing the basics.

  • @ilovemusicfyi i would say stick to the basics:

cardio, push ups, pullups, crunches , and core strength

weights: dont go for high weight, low reps: probably toning (lower weights high reps).

but before you do talk to a doctor, personal trainer, or even just your PE teacher for advice

  • @ilovemusicfyi i would say stick to the basics:

  • i miss these work outs :(

  • this workout actually works trust me i did it for about a year and a half and the results are astatic

  • medicine balls are the shit but to get most out of em you need partner! tosses and shit

  • Cool stuff.

  • doesnt randy use that tower thing? you know, the cables you attach to your door... lmfao

  • @YOPLAYA , maybe you should get one then...

  • @JimHu114231 maybe im not a moron....

  • @YOPLAYA, if you're LMFAO at a legend, you decide...

  • @JimHu114231 at the product that he endorses that he doesnt use cuz its shit. so yea im lmfao'ing at a legend whos a sellout for shitty merchandise. thats a pretty good fucking reason...

  • @YOPLAYA , and you know he doesn't use it. YOPLAYA, expert on all things Randy...

  • @JimHu114231 OR MAYBE; i just think its funny when people endorse things they would never use. did i say i knew everything about randy? no i didnt. so i would stop trying to tell me im saying things. clearly you re one of those people that if a famous person says it you believe it. or you wouldnt be on the opposing end of this argument.

  • @YOPLAYA , like I said, how do you know he doesn't use it to warrant "LMFAO." Clearly you're one of those people who likes hanging cr@p on people when what they may do, doesn't coincide with your own reality...Hey, but you know best.

  • @JimHu114231 being a personal trainer and also a seasoned weight lifter i know that those types of cables do pretty much nothing for physical fitness. i wouldnt recommend them to anyone under the age of 65. so why would someone in such great shape and with such a vast knowledge of preformance training use it? answer me that seeing as how you felt the need to comment on my comment. if your so sure im wrong why dont you buy it? seeing as how randy endorses it and you support him on that. sellout..

  • @YOPLAYA LOL! BINGO! That explains everything. Personal trainer typically ='s under achiever with a big attitude and a messiah complex...

  • @JimHu114231 Is there a sweaty roid rage about to occur?

  • great exercises

  • Good Stuff

  • Good Stuff

  • The first and third person at the start of the video were doing the exercise wrong. Notice how they lean forward, damaging their back. The second person did it right.

  • @GECKOflower and Allother

must these move from leaning forward allways ment to damaging the back.

couldnt it be a Backmuscle workout ??

  • Im diggin the bucket head playing in the background...

  • Can 13 year old do this>

  • @ilovemusicfyi,

    i don't know, can you?

  • @ladedabob No i meant that im 13 and 5ft and I was just wandering if this would stunt my growth. I know I can do this just not sure if it wouldstunt my growth

  • @ilovemusicfyi

I see. No, It wouldn't stunt your growth. this is just a SHIT load of cardio, with intense basic muscle movements. I would see no reason why you wouldn't be able to do this, unless physical disabilities prevented you from doing these tasks.

  • @ilovemusicfyi the idea that muscle and mass building exercises stunt growth is a myth

  • @cygnusdevon really cause I know a guy that knew a guy that knew a guy

  • Love it

  • Very impressive routine of plyometrics. Very well put together

  • Anybody know this song playing?

    Thanks

  • buckethead-nottingham lace.

  • Comment removed

  • yes it is

  • Is that Randy Couture?

  • I wish i had the equipment to do this shit, i guess i can't do plyometrics :[

  • So yes 5'11 165 is by my defintion at least pretty ripped. More to the point though, my argument is more along the lines of discrediting plyometrics like this which are almost exclusively jumping style excercise which target you quads and calves and largely neglect your hams and glutes crucial muscles for quickness and top speed.

  • Plyo's were trendy back in the 60's and 70's. How far ahead do you think we are now?

  • Quickness yes but speed not really. Top running speed comes more from your glutes and squats don't isolate those enough alone. You're only REALLY engaging your glutes at the bottom of the squat. They come less and less into play as your legs straighten and the weight goes to your quads. Quickness/Acceleration is measured on a diagonal plane so jumping style excercises will help. However, top speed is purely horizontal and vertical excercises will be less effective here than horizontal ones.

  • running speed comes from how much force you put into the ground in a very short timespan and how quickly yo can reposition your legs,it involves far more than just glute force developement.Vertical forces are the main factor even though the movement is horizontal. There is no diagonal plane.

  • Your defintion is beyond crude. A fat guy on a pogo stick can put a shit ton of force into the ground and not travel horizontally faster than 3mph. Think of your legs like you think of your arms. Quads=Triceps, Hamstrings=Biceps, Glutes=Shoulders. If you wanna pitch a ball, walk on your hands, ie leg-style excercises done w/ your arms, the brunt force falls on your shoulders which=glutes. If quickness isn't partially diagonal, y do people crouch b4 sprinting and not jump or run bent over?

  • hcdangerfield211 and billysue2, you both got the definition wrong. Since you're not technically primarily pushing or pulling on the ground you're technically not applying much force on the ground. In running, you're pushing off the ground much more than you're pushing on it. As you both have conceded, the emphasis is to get off the ground as quickly as possible (turn-over). In running, acceleration and speed is much more important than force is.

  • For example, force becomes much more of a factor in a rope tug, for pulling, or in offensive or defensive linemen for pushing, or for a baseball hitter, for torque or twisting. Running is the wrong sport for "force" or mass x acceleration, especially since mass tends to be more of a deterrent than an advantage in running, if we're talking about track and or cross country and not Troy Polamanu running towards an unsuspecting WR

  • I never said putting force directly into the ground was by defintion correct However, if you're saying that running fast is about having less mass, well I've got to ask, why are sprinters ripped as shit and not getting outsprinted by minimal bodymass marathon runners? And yes you ARE pulling and pushing off from the ground. Pushing off (forward) from the ground comes from your glutes, hamstrings, and calves primarily. Glutes and hams are way overlooked in sport specific workouts and thats a fact

  • hcdangerfield, all I stated was that mass tends to be more of a deterrent than an advantage in running

  • for example, assuming that two runners have the same overall body strength, a 6ft sprinter who weights 160 will probably outrun a 6ft sprinter who weights 165 or a 170 lbs b/c they have more weight to lug around and no extra strength to compensate for it ... I be no means stated that running fast is about having less mass ... if that were true than someone who weights 1 kg could outrun a person who weighs a healthy 65 kilograms and that's obliviously ludicrous

  • Look at it for a different angle find me a sprinter that weights more than a 170lbs? You'll find few if any at all ... Sure, sprinters are more "ripped", I actually say more muscular, than a long distance athlete but that hardly makes them big ... Usain bolt weights 167 lbs and he's 6'4 ... let me repeat that again, 6'4 ... if that's not skinny, I don't know what is ... he has incredible strength and may be ripped but that does not change the fact that he is lean

  • bro, usain bolt is not 167ibs. hes got to be at least 190

  • Look up his bio on iaaf.com ... I tried posting the url but apparently I couldn't post this message with the url in it ...

Regardless, on his bio you'll see that his weight is listed as 67.00 kilograms ... if you want to dispute that then there is not much more I can do ...

    76.00 kilograms converts into 167 ibs ...

  • by comparison, Tyson gay is 5'11 and 165lbs, again strong but hardly big ... you can be ripped big or ripped lean and all elite runners, whether they run the 10k or the 100 meters tend to be ripped lean more than ripped big

  • Usain is 6'4 and can afford to be leaner than someone 5'11 because he can pack the same amount of power into a larger frame. That extra weight to lug around is going to be muscle anyway the problem being (and the point upon which we agree) is that more muscle yeilds diminishing even negative returns after a certain point. Btw 5'11 165 is bigger than average though. I'm 5'10 pushing 150 and I'm right around the healthy average and thats with a much higher fat% than any world class sprinter.

  • yea well staying on the point of speed, if a sprinter can increase his explosiveness off the line, they can shed a couple tenths of a second off their race time.. so plyo training is a good choice for someone looking to increase speed- but i agree that the plane is horizontal more so than vertical

  • Exactly, jumping style plyos will help certainly but those alone won't make you as fast as you could be because they don't isolate the glutes enough. If you're a sprinter yes explosiveness is good but if you're playing a sport you'll want both top speed and explosiveness. That equates to glute training which gives you more horizontal push. Have you ever seen a sprinter with a small butt before? I think not.

  • captian america

  • Il primo esercizio è pessimo! non fatelo...

    gli altri buoni

  • Naw man plyometrics are sport specific workouts made to increase your speed, explosive power and quickness. Action sports have almost nothing to do with these, hows surfing going to help a mma guy fight or an nfl player hit somebody? Aside from just cardio.

  • the more in touch and able you are to do multiple things with your body allows you to become more in tune and coordinated to do anything.

  • @moiphy By improving their Timing, mental strength, balance and general relaxation level. I'd never knock surfing because I just love it but I'd agree that workouts such as these have much more crossover or non-specific physical benefit than surfing does.

  • @moiphy balance

  • @moiphy this would be good for hockey right?

  • @moiphy Won't help at all but I'm a surfer and was thinking this would definately help my surfing.

  • the boxes can be bought at any home depot or home center. they are irrigation covers

  • where can you buy the boxes? Does anyone know? 'They look sturdy and safe Thanks

  • would anyone know the weight of the medicine ball that the guy is using?

  • BUCKETHEAD!!!

  • its spelled "circuit" noy cicuit

  • Is this stuff also good for getting ripped??

  • It won't really put mass on you but it will increase your explosive power and coordination/balance which helps in other aspects of weightlifting and/or physical fitness. You will definitely burn a lot of calories.

  • your retarded

  • @sug15 This made me smile :)

  • @sug15 YOU'RE

  • Nottingham Lace!!!

  • my last comment was in response to myinternal war however this is directed at the creators of this video. very professional, very functional but most of all...very fun! im a qualified personal trainer and constantly looking for ways to make my sessions more interesting and you guys helped me out! thanks

  • Hahaha, loving the buckethead playing in the background!

  • the guy in the white didnt do any of it right

  • that's randy couture lol if you know anything about him you'd know he knows what he's doing

  • Great routine!

  • excellent routine =)

  • Outstanding!

  • is that randy couture talkin???

  • yes

  • The only way to continuously set off the reflex, like several times per second, is to try and balance on something called a wobble board. Funny name, but google it to get a picture.

This causes random eccentric contractions in unknown directions which sets off the reflex. It is very hard to time a hard concentric contraction after the stretch reflex is activated.

I have not a seen an exercise that fits the true plyometric definition to date.

  • sorry but i believe you are thinking of ballistics not plyometrics.plyometrics are explosive repetitions of a movement where ballistics try to trigger the reflex action of the inner muscle nerve that senses lengthening of the muscle and reacts to it.

  • Google myotatic reflex. The other problem with trying to take advantage of a reflex, is that you will never know when it gets set off. Plyometric is supposed to be an eccentric contraction which sets off the reflex. But this only happens when you unexpectedly lose your balance. That's when the stretched muscle contracts. You can't control the timing of that to immediately contract the muscle back in the other direction (concentric).

  • All great exercises and all highly recommended. contrary to what people believe, these are not plyometrics exercises. these are bodyweight exercises.

to be plyometric, you need to set off the myotatic reflex. this is hard to do since the reflex is an involuntary response to stimulus. since these athletes were all in very much control of what they were doing (no one lost their balance), they will not activate the reflex.

Good exercise program otherwise and recommended.

  • Yeh its hard this, credit to the people in the video

    strength & honor

  • this is the real deal fucking asshole

  • cool trrying it now

  • they are tuck jumps not squat jumps.
