  • Here is a better question, what ever happened to Steve Taylor? I really liked him.

  • Listin to the words of this song. It says some things about Obama and now he is paving the way for the anti christ and the comming of Jesus. He made this song in 1982, even before Clinton. Isnt that amazing?

  • @Lune490 coincidences, sir

  • i'm surprised there's not a ton of bleedy-heart liberals whining about this video.

  • @BarbieBoy1997 because gays deserve the right to be married

I'm sorry, but Steve is dead wrong about that point. Also, didn't Alan Moore and many psychologists disprove the idea of "black-white morality"?

  • @Malkmusianful how does that have anything even remotely to do with something i posted here 7 months ago? "because" starts an answer to a question...do you SEE a question? neither do I

  • @BarbieBoy1997 I saw that you were probably critical of liberals, so I assumed that you were assuming that the liberal position of LGBT issues is wrong when compared to Steve's outright homophobia.

    Sorry. My bad.

  • I can't believe that I've never heard of this guy. He sounds like a cross between Joe Jackson and Elvis Costello!

  • LOL. I remember this from growing up in a Christian house. Even though I don't agree with any of this anymore, I can't help but love the song.

  • Dave Thrush will be doing a LIVE interview on Ethan Tudor W's "The Neverhood Show" at Blog Talk Radio, Monday Oct. 25th at 10am (PST). Dave will be on to talk about his days touring with Christian Superstar "Steve Taylor", and will be taking LIVE call in questions from the fans. It's at The Neverhood Show, at Blog Talk Radio Dot Com, The LIVE call in number is 1-347-324-3691. Dave Thrush was the Sax Player with "Steve Taylor & Some Band" for MOST of Steve's touring career.

  • Now for the other side- sin is sin- just because a Christians calls something a sin does not mean he is saying everyone who sins is going to hell- No, it does mean we the blood of Jesus and the power of our testimony to win in these last days- BUT CAN YOU TOO FRIENDLY- YES- SIN IS SIN- BUT SOMETIMES IT JUST GOOD TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOT CONDEMNED JUST BECAUSE YOU SIN- THERE IS NO CONDEMNATION- WE ALL NEED MERCY TO MAKE TO THE FINISH LINE- NOW THAT IS MY FAIR AND BALANCED REPORT ON THIS ISSUE

  • steve is a total genius

  • @kintara70 We know the answer.....we just won't face it, that's all.

  • Who needs them Gentiles- They aint nothin but an extra credit assignment- Fuck em- We got the sealed of Israel- forget the gentiles- Let's go without them- Open up hell- LET THE GENTILES GO IN- BRING OUT MY DAD AND ALL THE JEWS-JUST LIKE YOU DID IN NUMBERS 16 DURING THE REBELLION OF MOSES AND AARON- DO IT AGAIN

  • @GangStarrHaHa1 What in the world are you talking about? You're not even making sense.

  • So much of his music has informed my theology. Thanks Steve!

  • @kintara70 Sin never existed in the first place.

  • @DanTheeMan I am sorry you think there is no such thing as sin. I will pray for you and ask God to show you the light and his word so you can understand what sin is. Of course, I also think it is sad that a non believer has to troll around Christain songs and send messages to them with remarks that there is no sin, basically calling them a liar. But then again, maybe that is God working in HIS way to help you find the guidence you seem to be in need of.

  • @MrKintara Funny how god's plan involves whatever I do. Terribly convenient, that. It's also rather telling that religion has to inform me of the concept of sin for me to know it. If left to my own devices I would have no concept of sin. Actually, to be honest, I still don't know what sin is. But I do know religion provides the solution to sin. So what we have, Mr. Kintara, is religion providing, within the confines of itself, a problem of sin and the solution to it. Terribly convenient, that.

  • @DanTheeMan Terribly, convenient, that. ..If nobody ever told you what sin was, you'd STILL know what sin was when someone stole from you, or if someone molested your child, wouldn't you? Wouldn't you instantly be aware that a wrong was committed? As for religion providing the solution to sin, that's not entirely true because there are religions that harm people, and that's no solution to anything. No one ever died for your sins other than Jesus, and that's not a religion, that's a gift.

  • @pazzensutra So a sin is something that isn't accepted morally?

I thought sins were just offenses against god. Then again, with how god loves dashing little kid's heads upon rocks, I wouldn't be surprised if he got off to the idea of kids being molested.

  • @DanTheeMan

I don't think you understood a thing I was talking about.

  • @pazzensutra The problem is that you don't know what a sin actually is. Yet I, the atheist, do. Irony.

  • @numoneuncfan If you don't care now, how the problems get solved, you can shake your head later that you never got involved, cause a call came ringing from the throne of gold, but you never got the message... cause your minds on hold!

  • best......lyrics......EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hmmmm.... I wonder what happened to sin.

  • Steve Taylor is the most least judgemental artist. He only points out the obvious and makes us think about it

  • @kiddstwins yeah, by implying that gays can't get married because some guy claimed that god said it wasn't right

even though that's not what Lev. 18:22 and Paul's writings say in their original context and all of the gay animals in nature, Steve still assumes that God dislikes gays

first up, they were born that way (sorry to use that argument I'm sure you've "disproven" a million times) because hormones affected them quite a bit when they were just developing

  • Ceased to be a Christian? What are you now?

  • Exactly which line states that Steve hates "homos"? I heard lines about the lifestyle being a sin, but not once did I hear him demean a single individual. I'm still trying to figure out exactly when telling someone that, to the best of your knowledge, you believe they have chosen to do something that is wrong constitutes "hate". If you're about to drink poison, is it more loving for me to say nothing to avoid offending you, or to tell you you shouldn't do that?

  • you're a moron!!!! no one said anything about hating "homos". take some time, pull your head out of your "you know what" and LISTEN to the song!!!!!!

  • how strange...this deep and prophetic message brought by a bouncing rock and roller.

  • In the summer of 1984, I took my girlfriend's best friend to his concert (since my girlfriend had to work). I locked the keys and tickets in the car in downtown Minneapolis and missed half the concert!

  • I remember seeing him in conert in St. Louis, MO in the early 80's. Wow! This brings back some actually good memories from my childhood! He was so cool when we met him!

  • Could someone please post a decent copy of 'Jesus is for loosers' ?

  • (saipanrick)Tell them " I'm Born again of the Spirit- Dead to Sin -Delivered -Raised in Him (Jesus) In Glory Eternally-- I AM BORN AGAIN!

Halleluja! (Thats secret lingo for "PRAISE THE LORD")

  • "When you need supportin', tell them that you're born again"..... must be the official line of the GOP... ;-)

  • "When you need supportin', tell them that you're born again"---

I think Democrats and Republicans have that problem, big time.

You almost can't be a politician without throwing some line like that out there!

  • Are you suggesting Hussein Obama could have been elected without that nitwit Rick Warren talking up his alleged Christianity?! There aren't that many illegal immigrants in the country who could have turned out that much of a vote (even with ACORN)

  • I hope no one ever points a finger at him! I'm glad the Bloke on The "Throne of Gold" is more compassionate than ST! God bless you guys, we love ya! Indeed.

  • I love this song, but why won't the video load? It keeps stopping and I see the loading symbol spinning around. I need this in light of Obama's win...

"If you need supporting...tell them that you're born again."

  • Hey WINDRUNNER007-(nice username btw =] but, wacky is good! smile... and STRYPERKEN-you almost took all of the words outta my mouth! So relevant today - "nothing really changes, everything remains the same we are what we are..."-Larry Norman etc. God Bless y'all-and THANKS FOR POSTING THIS AND ALL OTHER S.TAYLOR VIDEOS!

  • He's pretty wacky on stage... :D

    Love this song!

  • You know, I was thinking today that Steve wrote these songs 25 years ago. What has changed in the world on these issues since then? Really? We are STILL dealing with these issues today. Sad.

  • I still feel convicted listenting to Taylor's music that I started listening to 10 years ago! It's relevant for almost every generation.

  • I wish I had known about him when I was younger so I could have listened to him. I had no idea there were so many Christian artists in the 80's.

  • Back then, they weren't as cool and accepted as they are today.

  • You're right, and where I grew up I don't think we had a station that played Christian music...just Christian talk radio

  • Steve Taylor and Daniel Amos should of went on tour together.

  • I love this song! Steve Taylor is the best! He is direct and right to the point- no beating around the bush for him! I pretty much know all the lyrics to his songs by heart!

Thanks for posting! This is great stuff!

  • Yeah, he's defintely one of a kind!

    Wish he was still recording.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!! I was really little when I first heard it (it's older than I thought... before I was born!) and it was so straight to the point. Plain black and white! I love it!

  • HA HA HA great song!!

  • Hey excellent! Do you have the Limelight version of this and the Color Code song?

  • Oh, my. I never realized he was this hyper. lol. So cool.

  • @DwarfWife

I guess you haven't seen him mosh! :) He is one of the most interesting guys to see perform. I miss seeing him in concert!

  • I cannot believe this is here! I used to listen to this guy when I was in high school. I thought he was off the radar completely
