@nikolapfc2010 That's because the background does not have an alpha channel. Right click on the layer and select add alpha channel. I think that's the issue.
Sorry you do not wish to view the entire video. If you fast forward through the video you can find the part where I demonstrate how to use the paths tool.
Lol, yea i watched that.. But the things you were saying i couldnt keep up with, and it felt like it had nothing to do with what i wanted. I did the path tool thing by circling it around the part i want, but then u started talking about backrounds..and i dont want anything with the backround..i just want the part of the picture i want out of the original.
I didn't see where it was talking about backgrounds but you can use the paths tool to make a detailed outline of your image then just erase the background and you get the image by itself
your not good with the path tool cuss
you dont use it mutch

In order to have the checkered background, add an alpha channel. You can do that via your layers menu. ;)

If your image won't turn transparent, right click on the layer and choose Add Alpha channel. Then follow this.

i still get a white background..i just want the picture..no backround at all.

you probably need to add an alpha channel. If the layers name is bold then that means you need to add one. Go to layer-remove alpha channel
jxtutorials 2 years ago
nothing happens when you press enter when you've done? :s i.e using the scissor select tool?
Louisax91 2 years ago
using the amgic wand tool (fuzzy select) and then using the eraser tool my background goes white instead of transparnt what do I do?
runescapedaydreamer 2 years ago
well you need to paste your image onto a new layer or you can go to layer>remove alpha channel

nice, what about the lasoo tool thing, or the polyagonal one :P
Bye987Productions 2 years ago
the polygonal one? The lasso tool isnt very easy to use when it comes to cutting out an image so I didnt include it.

The foreground select one? I just recently figured out how to use it. It's very useful for things with a multicolored background
