I didn't get that feeling from the ending. To me, it seemed as though he and Shion both understood that it wasn't the last time they'd ever see each other. Jin knew what had to be done, and knew that everything had been settled.

I really didn't want Jin to die at the end of XS III, he finally got close to Shion and wanted him to escape with her...same with Chaos I guess.

Are you my twin? That's exactly how I feel about Shion too. Jin did his absolute best to take care of her and she treated him like dirt!
