  • I only started taking ADD medication in my late twenties, even though I was diagnosed when I was a child. There was a fear in my family about taking ADD medication. I've managed to do quite well without, but only with a tremendous amount of effort and persistence. Now that I'm doing a masters degree, working efficiently and time management is an issue. I've been taking medication for two months now, and I've noticed a huge difference, not only in school, but in many aspects of my life.

  • Nalts your awesome

  • yeah, sure. meds... why not? I mean, let's face it, everybody is self-medicating in some way. Coffee, sex, internet pr0n, hobbies, FOOD, whatever. it's all about getting some kind of high, or finding some escape, or trying to fix some problem, even if you're not consciously aware you're doing it. At least the people who take meds are being somewhat honest with themselves, and are aware of what is going on.

    I kinda like being crazy

  • Nalts you are awesome! Meds help me alot and I think the reason you see so many negative comments about them is probably because those who have negative side - effects are more inclined to talk about it. Only side - effect I have is loss of appetite.

The secret though :/ Positive thinking sounds like religion for people who are too smart for religion. But I may be wrong :) Positive thinking never hurt anybody, except when it's gets in the way of realistic thinking.

  • The idea of a grown up man on youtube, encouraging all of the kids, teens, and adults that have ADHD that you can be different, and still make a difference, is really awesome! I love you nalts!!!!! =D

    <3

  • you boss gave you adderal.. That was a blue viagra in the car!!

  • I should take my med right now i think its the time

  • sorry *nalts

  • natls, you RULE!

  • nalts i love your video and you FARRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTT are my hero

  • i have adhd and i dont take medication anymore. medication is horrible. the pill bottles are so easy to lose and then my mom gets frusturated because i dont follow the routine her and i and my doctor agreed on regarding the pill bottles. and sometimes the pill would get stuck in my throat and i would keep drinking water but that never worked. and sometimes i forget to call in a refill and i have to wait for the mail to get here. it sucks. thats why im against any form of medication.

  • i take that for my ADHD but the suckish thing is that it makes me not able to eat sooooooooooooo ya oh well LUV THE VID !!

  • whens spencer coming back? - just kidding!

  • The Secret iz a very good book!! ^-^ An yeah..I take medz too, can't stay still for 2 sec XD

  • And revolvergfc, that is so uncool saying that. The retard in this coversation is you my friend for saying that about ADHD, someting which alot of us have had to struggle with through school with.

This article was brougt to you by pure rage.

  • Just to carify on some comments about ADHD making you retarded. This is entirely untrue. Most ADHD people are much smarter, but the issue is being able to use it. There are a couple of things that could "unlock" the door, one being meds.

Just wanted to make things clear.

P.s. This was a challenge to type as I have ADHD. And I can say alot more but I can't be botherd

  • i have ADHD and im retarded. i dont think the ADHD made me retarded. i think my retardation gave me ADHD. but i dont take medication anymore because i lost my pill bottle last week and i dont want to drive to the doctor's office to get another prescription.

  • I subscribed to you before I knew about Spencer :)

  • Honestly, Nalts, you are the reason I subscribed to your channel. Spencer's just annoying. :)

Power to the ADHD People! WOO...

And I suffer from ADOS! Attention Deficit... OOO Shiny!

  • i forgot to say what I wanted (as always) sucks that we have no adderall in europe! do you know whats the difference is?

  • Have adhd too I take Ritalin Im pretty extreme!!

  • my parents make meh take that :P

  • iff u could pay attention to this WHOLE video then u prolly dont have ADD lol

  • i couldn't pay attention to the rest of the video after he farted lol. i was cracking up uncontrollably.

  • i didnt O_O

    i was..not paying attention ^_^

  • you wanna know an easy cure to ADD, ADHD?

    meds = very lol

just exercise a lot before, does freaking WONDERS

  • Wow dude ADD/ADHD is just a fake fuckin' disorder that is used to boost the medical system. Look how many of you supposedly have this, how about instead of calming you "ADD" you pick up a pencil and transfer your "tick" into a picture, fuck. There's nothing wrong with you.

  • SHut the fuck up

It does exist. Its people like u who need serious medicine,

You know what, how do u no its fake, do u call Autism fake.

Well they consider ADHD to almost resmeble some forms of ASD.

Just because you cant see the physicall damaged part does not mean its not there.

  • I never said autism wasn't real. And I never said anything about physical signs. Me and my brother both supposedly had ADD/ADHD through our school years. They had me on and off medications, and they were all crap. All that's happening now is American children are being raised like zombies seeing as how once they show the slightest bit of imagination or the littlest bit of excitement they are thrown on medications they take that all away. Taking that adderall in the morning is only hurting.

  • well i live in singapore,

and they got serious standard to get diagnosed,

adderall is banned here, you can get ritalin, but it is not easy

I really am happy now i got diagnosed, i understand why i cant sit still for a second, why i failed everything when i wanted to pass.. I dont know how ppl in the USA show slight imagination and get labeled. But I showed serious uncontrollable symptoms, that only became ADHD when there was no other alternative.

  • Well my opinion is that ADHD is bullshit and has somehow become more popular than Ferbee's, Pokemon cards, and Yoyo's combined.

  • i have it 2. i licked my homework 2day and i got moved!! teachers...

  • I am not sick person

    fuck you dick

I dont no why but you made me feel like shit

Why you check who i was calling a retard before postin

    My concerta 36mg 2 times a day

makes me depressive so fuck you

  • I have ADD XD

  • I have fucking ADHD as well!! great!!

  • omg i have ADHD i was replyin to someone

the reply board is always doing this

  • The more i learn about ADHD the more i think i've got it and had it for ages!

  • i take adderall too!!! its my 4th day on them!

It works really good because all my grades in school went up 2 letter grades or more, but the only bad part is the side effects, i get mad so easily. I have one question, make that two,

1: how long does it take for the side effects to go away?

    and

2: Does this medication really work in the long run?

If you could answer these question, that'd be great... But if you don't i understand because u have to read all those pm's.

    Thanks!

  • I have ADHD. It's hard to focus, so people say it's the inability to stay focused. I say it's the gift to be unfocused.

  • I have ADHD, and I'm not any different from other children in school.

I've been medicated and all it did was getting me bad grades. So I stopped it 3 years ago, and now I get good grades.

  • I have both ADHD and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, so I am always tired and then I use up the energy I DO have on short bouts of hyperness

  • LOLZ i hav adhd to and im just like you

  • lmao i thauhgt there WAS somone there great job man

  • thanks i relly needed to sleep it was so boring that i almost fell a sleep but 1 of my friends has ADHD and he mess all the time on class and nonebody cant concertrate at all and he wants all the time attension if we dont notice him he starts hitting ass and kicking to get noticed se he is almost all the time somekinda paper on his nose cos we kick his ass all the time hos he starts to hit us and he is anoying

  • ...Because that made perfect sense with a complete lack of punctuation.

  • Lol! Thought the same thing, I was trying to read and I was getting REALLY confused!

  • Yo Shut The Fuck U I Have ADHD And It Does Not Make U Retarted

  • yeah your a poor person calling someone a retard with ADHD, man your stupid.

  • I have ADHD

i was talking to someone else

the board put my comment somewhere else.

    dude I have it

    i suffer for it

    I hate it.

    No one understands me.

  • Comment removed

  • dude i have ADHD

I wasnt callin the guy a retard

a few pages back i was callin

    so there man

    eat yourrrrr ARM FIJD{SAFJ

  • This was unflinchingly honest. Very brave.

  • I'm kinda moved. Really. Best thing I saw on youtube today.

  • I have the same TriPod as you!!!!!

  • concerta 54mg

  • i couldnt consentrate on the video...?

  • I have ADHD..And the medicine solves a little but it is to addicting. I have been on it for 12 years and when I tried to get off it slowly I ended up in hospitial. I only take it for school and work now. If I do not take it for school I fail school, but I can ace school if I have it. Sitting still is the hardest. I usually carry a ball of strings to play with and fidget with. Living with ADHD can be tough, but actually can come to a advantage, for example how close you pay attention to details

  • i agree with this 100%, and its funny cause i also have small ball of string in my pocket haha

  • hell ya..People think I am nuts..But the strings makes me stay sane not nuts haha...

  • i aggree adhd sucks

  • well I know living with ADHD is completely hard it's not easy it's why it's hard to hold down a job other then babysitting

  • loud fart, happy birthday tomorow!

  • fuck dood.

    you farted

    xD

  • 3.49 LOL!

  • BTW anyone else here on these new meds called Vyvance? I was just recently diagnosed with ADD back in January and these are the first meds i've been on. Anyway, be nice when you respond, im bad with criticism, just like probably many here are, lol.

  • lol, sorry man, I got add to and i keep paying attention to the damn comments underneath. Bleh, I'm gonna watch this two more times until I make it through it without distractions.

  • OMG you are seriously my twin! I love you!!! ADD kicks ass.... of course it took me 20 years to accept that idea! I actually became a certified ADD coach. All the "anti-ADD" people out there should be locked in a room with 20 true ADDers for a day and see what happens! LOL!

  • sry accidentally posted b4 i finished anyway, is it just me or have others noticed this to? most of the people who r against the medication and think ADHD dosent exist andis just a lable don't acctually have ADHD? cuz it really can help. but alot of people wouldnt know that if they dont have experience with medications like that.

  • is it just me or have others noticed this to? most of the people who r against the medicatio

  • Hey Nalts, uhm, when is Spencer coming back?

  • XD

Right after he complained about these comment too :P

Damn it I was gonna ask :(

  • You have the same tripod as me! :P

  • Knowing your sensitivity to criticism... Isn't nice that you can take a pill that reduces the amount of criticism dolled out by others?

Glad the medication helps. Perhaps some day society will be able to genetically engineer people they are tolerant of, and we won't have to put up with anyone different and uncontrollable.

  • they have new pills for ADD

  • If you take the blue pill, the story ends and you will wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. If you take the red pill, you will stay in wonderland...and I will show you how deep the rabbit hole goes!

  • I laughed at the end :)

I agree with you about taking meds - your analogy about being thirsty - but I think a lot of people are wary about meds for adhd and depression especially because it seems to be overdiagnosed. But yes, people who need them should really take them.

  • I was on several different depression medications for awhile, and even though they didn't work out for me long term (my body adapted to them too quickly), their temporary effect gave me the relief I needed during the worst times to enact change in myself and my outlook that I needed to deal with the disease fairly well on my own. It took me a long time to accept the idea of taking it, but I'm glad I did and now I see it the same way you do.

  • I had the same experience - relief through anti-depressants and then a fairly quick adaptation to them. I still have hesitations and concerns about the idea that I need them forever.

  • Hey, that's a good point... where is Spencer?

    ;-)

  • do you attach your camera to the steering wheel or something? if so, how?

  • Eh, I'm anti-medication for MYSELF, but I'm not egotistical enough to parade around telling other people whether or not to do it.

...Almost though. If I had won that spelling bee in 3rd grade, I'd be slinging my opinion around everywhere.

  • nalts you have the best endings to your videos :D

  • Medication works for some, but not for all. I found that while it makes me concentrate, it alters my personality and makes me depressed. There are other solutions. Everyone is different.

  • this video SUCKED! You know why? two words: NO SPENCER

  • Did you fart at the start?

  • I totally heard it! LOLOL. Nothing like a fart to get the giggles goingl

  • hahahahahahahahaha great man :)

  • that pill u take looks like a viagra. ^_^

  • I totally agree... telling someone w/ ADHD not to take meds is like telling someone w/ bad eyesight not to wear contacts.

Bless Ya for making this one, Mr. N! :)

  • People with ADHD do NOT have to be medicated. It should only be used as a last resort. You don't have to view it as some sort of handicap. It actually has its advantages. Some don't even consider it a disorder, simply a different way of thinking.

  • I wasn't trying to be mean. I have a family member w/ ADHD and he spent years having to take medication, or struggle every day at school. He's since learn to handle things more on his own. My point was that when people need meds, others shouldn't look down on them (or their payrents) for having to take them.

  • No harm done. I didn't think you were being mean, I just wanted to express the other point of view. People should do what they have to do to function.

  • Your movies rock, Nalts. I've really never seen one where I thought it sucked. As a matter of fact, you're a big part of why I finally got a video camera in the first place.

    Peace out, dude!

  • *****

  • So, when are you bringing back Spencer?

  • this was better than the actual adhd video, i think.

I wouldn't have thought you had adhd. I always thought you were some crazy genious. :D (And i still think you are, but now i probably know the reason for that haha)

  • Awesome! 5 stars! o(^ - ^)o *♥*♥*♥*♥*

  • Wow that looks like a good mic on your camera, what kind of mic is that?

  • Now I understand. I think. But why do I have a headache?

Oh look! A picnic table. But I don't have any peanut butter. I'll run to the store and get some... uh... beer... :-P

    Moosie

    (Who?)

  • So Spencer will be back soon then?

  • haha i wish i could fart like that seriousley.

i never new that you have adhd. like i no that your a bit absed with funny stuff but i didnt no. one of my friends at school has adhd and its hard getting along with her but she can be nice. its really hard gettting along with her, 'cos one minute ill be talking to her then she will just walk away and start laughing at a pigion. and ill be like 'wtf r u listening to me'

  • i'm a much happier camper with my anxiety meds.

  • The ride home would have been a perfect time for self-deprecating Nalts. Where is that guy?

  • I like the description of meds as part of a balanced diet

you need your grains, your fruits and veggies, your protein, and your Drugs ;)

  • ¥T

  • you, MR. NALTS, just SHOWED us a little more of your ICEBERG.

    ---reference to a previous video.

    good evening sir,

    XEM

  • OMG that fart was SO loud!

it made it so hard for me to listen to the rest of the video.

    silly nalts...

  • I too take Adderall. Up until my freshman year of high school it was undiagnosed, Glad that you also shared your opinion on it. A lot of people (like my horrible history teacher who constantly makes ADD jokes) just make jokes and diminish the fact that people do actually struggle with it.

  • BORING! bring on the Spence

  • My brother is ADHD....not an easy thing to deal with...I have compassion for folks who struggle with that.~Raven

  • high 5 for the special sound effects

  • Oh, I love you Nalts.

  • I have adhd and take ritalin for my adhd and it is combined type.

  • actually your better than spencer....maybe spencer should make his own account....thats why i subscribed to NALTS!!

  • nice fart

  • Love your honesty, Nalts.

  • When is spencer coming back

    haha jk.

  • i love "making of" videos...

    -Brent

  • I've had adverse reactions to some medications, so I tend to look for alternatives and use regular medicine as a last resort but I'm not against anything that anybody says works for them though I think where the personality is affected by a condition cognitive therapies do the most good. Jeez ... that's a really long sentence, huh?

  • I'll bet your farts smell like win...or cheese.

  • I'll bet your farts smell like win...or cheese.

  • 3 videos in a row on ADHD! Are my voice mails really that bad that you feel the need to make not 1, not 2, but 3 videos on ADHD?! It's not my fault that during the last message I left I was distracted by a pimp beating up his hoe.

  • Did you manage to write all of this in one sitting? I could only read the first half. I'll have to read the rest tomorrow. My cat just puked up a hairball. Oh look! A spider!

    Moosie

  • I totally thought someone was there with you. ;)

  • courageous you. thanks its great you encourage people to be who they are

  • Well done sir...dug both vids.

  • I really enjoyed both videos. I liked seeing a deeper side to you. Great video.

PS: You did totally pull off like someone was filming you.

  • Hey The only reason my Ex is my Ex is because he stopped taking his meds every time he felt an improvement coz he thought he was healed. I loved so many of his ADHD ways actually. I think meds are a big part of it and the rest is support and understanding...... Thanks for the Sub!!!!! Mwaahhhhhhh You RAWK!!! Squish Charlie for me! = )

  • I have a couple friends who don't seem to have ADD or ADHD (though perhaps they just hide it well?) who have the twitching knee.

    Great video Kevin.

  • I don't like the idea of medicating. I think that people should try to work their problems out without the use of drugs. However, medication obviously does help people so for someone to say never to use meds doesn't make sense to me. Placebos have helped, like you said.

You mentioned The Secret. I've seen a bit of the film version but haven't read the book. You should check out NLP, if you haven't already. A good book to start with is 'Introducing NLP' by Joseph O'Connor and John Seymour.

  • Adderral is just like speed, but works opposite on people with ADHD.

  • you are NASTYYYY!!!!!!!!!

  • My dad and brother has ADD and i have a dose of OCD.

  • Excellent. I'm really impressed. You kicked ass on both videos.

  • spencer part at end made me lol.

He truely is a great asset, but you can be funny enough without him!

  • I have it..don't need drugs to hinder my creativity....and if you read more up on it..it could mean you just have a higher IQ. Go see Mr. Saftey videos from way back lol..OH LOOK GEESE!

  • Oh and don't forget to read the screenplay I sent you. I'll keep posting so you don't forget.

  • I thought ADD meant that you couldn't ADD.

  • lol fart on 00:12

  • That fart sounded like a real stinker Nalts. Hey, great video. My step brother has ADD, he doesn't medicate, its on the extreme end of the scale. Not sure if I have it, I have a short attention span, I can't seem to

  • I bet I have adhd. I shake my knee all the time and I don't like to sit still for long periods of time. lol ^^

  • WHEN'S SPENCER COMING BACK!!!

  • Theres ADD and ADHD somethin somethin

  • haha, I dont even enjoy spencer as much as I do nalts!

  • I'm A.D.D., too, and I take...wait, brb, I have to go check the air in my tires.

  • Did the makers of aderol pay you to pop that pill?

  • Is that a fart on 00:12?

  • You farted lol

  • I now feel a connection with Jo.

  • Yea I heard that if you don't take the medication at the right time(usually after breakfast,) there could be horrible side effects.

  • I'm one of those who refuse to take medication unless I absolutely have to. The scary thing is.... when I do take medication, It has almost no effect on me. I was once given enough meds to knock out a horse and my doctor refused to believe that I took them when I said they didn't work. He started getting angry, and it was hilarious.

  • I'm not entirely sure if I have ADHD or not, but if I do, I can now say that I'm glad just because YOU have it. You make neurobehavior pure lolz.

  • Seriously here. You suffer from ADHD? My daughter was recently diagnosed with it and she also is on Adorol. I see major changes in her, all for the good

  • I thought the little blue pill was viagra! lol

  • I have self diagnosed myself :D I see it ended suddenly again lol. You need more pills. Sometimes my friends say im hyperactive and excitable.

  • the secret is great I need to watch it again

  • Thank you Nalts. This video was very heartfelt. Glad you can use positive thinking, exercise and medication to help you produce. All I know, is keep em coming. I live for Nalts and The Baby Eaters. Love ya. SmileyD

  • Im all ADD ;)

I don't get why they don't take the dang pills!!

  • Interesting how you are careful to whisper so as not to wake anyone, but you let out a thunderous roaring fart....

  • It annoys me to no end when people say there is no such thing as ADHD or that you shouldn't medicate an ADHD child. To those people I say this: Try living in my shoes for one weekend with my kid without his meds. I dare you. You'll run screaming out of the house by Saturday night.

P.S. Nalts, the only reason you're getting away with mentioning the secret yet another time without me razzing you is because that was an awesome fart. I wish I could fart like that. I have fart envy.

  • I can fart with the best of them. It's stopped phasing the kids. You're not big on The Secret? It's a little cheesy but I like the message that we can control our lives through positive thinking. Amen on the ADHD child thing. Don't judge until you walk a mile in someone's stained underwear.

  • Yeah I'm pro-meds and completely agree with your thirst analogy. I stopped taking my anti-OCD/anti-anxiety meds because of hypertension and yeah, I'm a wreck. I don't understand why people are so against meds though. If it helps you live a better life why wouldn't you take them???

  • My perspective is that people obsess on the side effects but often the core issue is the naive belief that "you should do it without meds." Like it's some badge of courage. Imagine if I said, "you shouldn't need hypertension meds to feel well." Silly, huh?

  • Yup.

    Loved your fart btw :)

  • Thank you Kevin. I just recently became aware of Adult female ADD. Its different to male ADD and ADHD. i was going to do a video so i am glad you did one first.

  • Really? I've never heard about it. What's unique about it?

  • In females its often misdiagnosed as the symptoms vary from men. A lot of female ADD is recognised when a women has kids. Its often just seen as depression when there is a ADD Diagnosis there. just a few weeks ago i was made aware that this is something i may have. reading into it i fit the bill. In the UK and with women its not that commonly known about. I have had to research into it myself & most of that info is coming from USA.

  • Wouldn't mind seeing ole Spencer, tis true!!

  • My 14 yr old son has ADHD and depression w/ anxiety. He also takes adderall along w/ dep.

meds. It's a difficult thing to deal with, for

the whole family. But, it's nice to see successful people who have the condition. I've

seen a couple other successful people on YT who deal with it and show the positive side.

    Thanks, Nalts. :)

  • I'm glad you're helping him treat. With meds and counseling, folks can be better than normal. I'm amazed at how someone can turn around even when things appear hopeless, and I hope that for your son. That's a tough period. Life gets better after 14!

  • My oldest son had ADD with hyperactivity. He was on ritalin for most of his childhood. The doctor allowed me to wean him off of it when he started high school. He graduated, and joined the Army National Guard Reserves....he was with them for 8 years, did one term, 18 months in Iraq. These kids are so special, and the majority of them are gifted. This explains Nalts' genious!

  • hey look a squirrel !!
