We all have internal firewalls. Some need to be stronger than others. Attacks here can be brutal, but it would mean a lot to some of us here if you can find a way to separate yourself from those enough to stay for good.

Hey Bonnie, I've seen most of the older and last videos you posted n if I ever felt like critising your person I would have thought ok she must be really confident with herself to wear that hair! But though the hair improved while you made videos with different settings/light/angles whatever, honestly I thought I'd love to be able to just get out of bed and talk to Youtube like you do....
What I would say about hair on YT is that it what looks good in person rarely looks good on YT and what looks good on YT about 50% of the time looks good in person. At least for me. For some other people like Tom (tlg847) it's the same on and off YT, so maybe its a girl thing. But yes, I intentionally left my early videos up there so people could see the progression of my YT persona.
Hi Bonnie, We missed you a bunch. I have missed your wonderful insight and questions. Like others have said you owe us no apology. The good thing is now youtube has made a block feature which should hopefully cut down on the hate.

There should be open season on the haters. The number of people in here they have broken down, the confidences and self-images they have crushed (whether it be towards kids or adults), ABUSING people they never even met in real life is unbelievable. They should be banned from going near this site for the rest of their life.

Oh, I don't think I had anyone unsubscribe, maybe one or two... I think it is more that people who were subscribed took their accounts off YouTube. On some of them, I will write to people I know they will have been in contact with, so I can find out if they have just changed their username.

Bonnie: I'm glad you took the break, for you, and I'm glad you are back, for us. It was your openness and honesty that brought me to your videos in the first place. Unfortunately, that openness quality, in this life, seems to be automatically accompanied by vulnerability. It's a package deal, I think.
I find it amazing how there can be so much hate in this website. these people who say these kinds of comments are people who most likely would never say it to someone in person. They use the internet as a sort of Alias shield. My theory is that the people who are haters on this website have such low self esteem that they have to make fun of other people to boost there confidence. I've been fighting this war for a long time now, and a lot of my videos reflect it.
I wish YT had existed when I was living at home and going to school. For me school was just like YT, except instead of just verbally attacking, there were physical threats as well. The same types of people are behind both. But unlike school, on YT it's easier to gain support for fighting off the bullies. LazyDork is a great example (saw your last vid on that). He isn't suspended anymore-thankfully. The world would be a smaller place without LD, and you, and me. Thanks for your friendship

On YT the more controversial the subject the more it gets to people's emotions and they have to decide if you are right or wrong. If you are wrong, they often say you have no basis for understanding the other position (i.e., ergo your position is invalid). If the vlog is about something very personal, the undermining or attacking of the foundation is an attack on your person or stated experiences. My personal favorite is when someone told me they doubted I had been abused as a child.

I think the ones I find hard to take are people who say things like, I doubt you were actually abused as a child. Victims of abuse are often told that they are imagining things, or they caused the things to happen, so I don't know if the source matters, because it re-activates the pain of when people who mattered ignored or dismissed it.

Bonnie, I was abused as a child myself, Physically and Mentally as well as others that I won't mention, I know how hard it is to deal with a lingering shame that is not our fault, And how easy it is to let the mere words of others bring those feelings to light. Stay strong dear, and know that you do have friends that do not judge you.
Hey I've been away myself. Although hard to do, if you can ignore those that hate and the advertising there is still good to be found in people and in sharing here.
No self-confidence? Well, join the club. I have been struggling with that particular problem for a long time. But sometimes when you put yourself out there and people do their worst, you find you are surprisingly resilient. Those people who will tear you down can sometimes (purely by accident) build you up.
Interesting... people tearing me down never builds me up. Let me know if you post a video with examples or tips. When I feel low I just make sure I don't talk to anyone who might push me off the platform and on to the tracks, so to speak. But that of course can lead to isolation, which can make you feel even lower.
Bonnie, You are a good and beautiful woman and it takes a courageous person to sit in front of that camera and expose your heart to the world. I know this from the few times I've tried to do it. Obviously there are cruel people and there is no need to appologize for retreating from abuse. From my point of view You are welcome and celebrated here but not expected. I just did a cleanup of my subscribers (i.e., looking for ones whose accounts are closed.) So many friends not here anymore. But I am glad the ones that are still on, didn't unsubscribe. If a woman vlogs and no one is subscribed, can it be heard? Or something like that.
Aaaah, and don't let those haters get you down. They are not important. They're just a bunch of losers. Why would they otherwise need to write rude comments on the internet?

There should be open season on the haters. The number of people in here they have broken down, the confidences and self-images they have crushed (whether it be towards kids or adults), ABUSING people they never even met in real life is unbelievable. They should be banned from going near this site for the rest of their life.

In my own experience on here, I have found. understanding the beast is taming it. I try my best to not give "them", either the nice or not so nice people the power to tell me who I am. Good to have you back Bonnie, I honestly have missed seeing you. The World, including YT is full of people who will both agree and disagree. On the internet people are more prone to be hurtful because there is little of no penalty for doing so. (cont')

Hi Bonnie - it is SO GREAT to have you back! - I'm back under this user name now after a little while away! :-) I understand the problems the haters can cause, but as some other users above have said, they have very low self-esteem and you just have to realize that and remove their comments and block them without responding. I know it can be hurtful, as I get them too - but the advantages for me outweigh the problems. Happy Holidays!

Oh, I don't think I had anyone unsubscribe, maybe one or two... I think it is more that people who were subscribed took their accounts off YouTube. On some of them, I will write to people I know they will have been in contact with, so I can find out if they have just changed their username.

Hey Bonnie, I am so happy you are back! I enjoy your channel so much for your genuine attitude, and it still shines. I never thought to unsubscribe, and I am sorry you had people do that. YouTube, for me, is a place to meet people such as yourself - not necessarily be entertained. Entertainment is just a fringe benefit. Stay strong, and be well...I'll be watching!

Unfortunately, that openness quality, in this life, seems to be automatically accompanied by vulnerability. It's a package deal, I think.

First off, welcome back.
I find it amazing how there can be so much hate in this website. these people who say these kinds of comments are people who most likely would never say it to someone in person. They use the internet as a sort of Alias shield. My theory is that the people who are haters on this website have such low self esteem that they have to make fun of other people to boost there confidence. I've been fighting this war for a long time now, and a lot of my videos reflect it.

I wish YT had existed when I was living at home and going to school. For me school was just like YT, except instead of just verbally attacking, there were physical threats as well. The same types of people are behind both. But unlike school, on YT it's easier to gain support for fighting off the bullies. LazyDork is a great example (saw your last vid on that). He isn't suspended anymore-thankfully. The world would be a smaller place without LD, and you, and me. Thanks for your friendship

On YT the more controversial the subject the more it gets to people's emotions and they have to decide if you are right or wrong. If you are wrong, they often say you have no basis for understanding the other position (i.e., ergo your position is invalid). If the vlog is about something very personal, the undermining or attacking of the foundation is an attack on your person or stated experiences. My personal favorite is when someone told me they doubted I had been abused as a child.

I think the ones I find hard to take are people who say things like, I doubt you were actually abused as a child. Victims of abuse are often told that they are imagining things, or they caused the things to happen, so I don't know if the source matters, because it re-activates the pain of when people who mattered ignored or dismissed it.

Bonnie, I was abused as a child myself, Physically and Mentally as well as others that I won't mention, I know how hard it is to deal with a lingering shame that is not our fault, And how easy it is to let the mere words of others bring those feelings to light. Stay strong dear, and know that you do have friends that do not judge you.

No self-confidence? Well, join the club. I have been struggling with that particular problem for a long time. But sometimes when you put yourself out there and people do their worst, you find you are surprisingly resilient. Those people who will tear you down can sometimes (purely by accident) build you up.

Interesting... people tearing me down never builds me up. Let me know if you post a video with examples or tips. When I feel low I just make sure I don't talk to anyone who might push me off the platform and on to the tracks, so to speak. But that of course can lead to isolation, which can make you feel even lower.

Bonnie, You are a good and beautiful woman and it takes a courageous person to sit in front of that camera and expose your heart to the world. I know this from the few times I've tried to do it. Obviously there are cruel people and there is no need to appologize for retreating from abuse. From my point of view You are welcome and celebrated here but not expected. I just did a cleanup of my subscribers (i.e., looking for ones whose accounts are closed.) So many friends not here anymore. But I am glad the ones that are still on, didn't unsubscribe. If a woman vlogs and no one is subscribed, can it be heard? Or something like that.
