id love to now how to play this song... foke music's for me atm being a 16 year old englishman. I love foke because to me it isn't written by the "writer', it's by the people, also for its simplicity and meaning
omfg ...I haven't heard this song in so long..it used to be in this old jukebox at the local corner bar,and everyone would get furious when I played it.
I visit Laura's grave every year. I'm only sixteen so it hasn't been many years. Her grave is about ten minutes from my home. I was raised listenin' to Doc Watson and it just fits me.
Doc's an addiction. I heard him one time, now I own dozens of his recordings and tutorial CDs. Hearing others do the same tunes, they just don't measure up. lol.
Another song added to my "learn for a future mic night or the lossie folk fest" list XD

For all the musicians like Doc out there, Tom Dooley is in B flat. Standard tuning, capo on the 3rd fret.

I saw Doc Watson in Ashe County at the West Jefferson Civic Center. His grandson Richard Watson joined him on the stage. His honest music humbles me.
