I see more gangster wannabes owning flocks accidentally shooting them off in their parents basement when trying to show off on YouTube videos then getting all scared, and people that buy guns for the purpose of legal self defense own Springfield. Just my obersavtion.
It could be that the suppresor works fine but the bullets are supersonic. The crack we hear may be the bullet breaking the sound barrier which no suppressor can fix. it would be nice to try it with subsonic rounds.
haha everyone has this percieved idea that a silencer makes it this uber uber quiet sound. This is from movies and video games. The silencer is still actually pretty loud... does it tone it down? Absolutely but it also changes the sound of the blast to make it sound something different.
@Mattletic It's loud because he's not shooting subsonic rounds. You cannot truely silence supersonic ammo. Standard 9mm ammo is such, he just needs sub rounds to truely silence it
A suppressor is only supposed to quiet it down dumbass, so when you're at war and you're in an urban environment the enemies that are a good distance off will not hear it, although the closer ones still will. They're not for everyone to just buy, they were created for more stealthy missions and mainly for snipers.
I love reading posts by dumb asses. I have 50 bucks they were not firing subsonic ammo through that can. 9mm is a hypersonic round (for you tards out there that means it breaks the sound barrier and produces that crack you hear.)
lets see ur profile says that ur 22 yrs. old so you probably don't know shit about guns or "surpressors" and also the "surpressor" that is in the video really isn't considered shitty by any means. I always thought that Gemtech was a good name as far as supressors go but maybe you could give me some more insight on which ones are good
it still is loud, the purpose of a silencer is not to make the gunshot silent it is only to make the gunshot quieter and make it so it doesn't sound like a gun going off
@workoutwme The point of a suppressor is to make the gun as quiet as possible. If you're still creating that kind of noise with a suppressor, you're shooting through multiple layers of sheet metal. Even if what Dustin's saying is correct about supersonic ammunition, a silencer lowers the FPS rate of the bullet, and in 9mm, that usually puts it at subsonic.
@FiveTwoSevenTHR The only time a suppressor increases the velocity of the round is if you're using ammunition that isn't loaded with a powder quantity specific to the length of the barrel. Using any more is wasteful and pointless. Typically one would choose colder ammunition loads to reduce ballistic crack when they are using a suppressor. The point is to make as little noise as possible, not use the loudest ammunition available.
@karinosai Guess I'm going to have to explain it to you. When the bullet leaves the barrel without a silencer, it's traveling at a certain speed. With a silencer on the gun, the bullet is still leaving the bullet at the same speed but it then has to travel through the silencer. Traveling through the silencer allows the gas to push the bullet even more giving it a higher FPS. Silencers don't reduce speed.
@FiveTwoSevenTHR Guess I'm going to have to explain it to YOU, the gas will have extremely marginal effect on the velocity of the bullet if the gas created by the burning powder is no longer expanding. If you're loading ammunition for a suppressed weapon, you won't be loading ammunition with maximum powder burn, thereby increasing the sound it makes. Try thinking about it, if you're going to load ammo to be as quiet as possible, are you going to pack more powder into the case than necessary?
Neato!

Also.. there is SUBsonic ammo that should be shot with a supressor.. which will actually make it very much silenced...

not a very good silencer it seems, or that just the echo?

its actually a very good silencer, but when the bullet strikes its target its still loud

ahh, i hear it now :)

@workoutwme Either that or supersonic rounds.

Is that a subcompact? If so where did you get the threaded barrel for it? I didn't know there were any out fo the SC yet.

are u using subsonic ammo?
bond007105 2 years ago
Is that what a silenced gun sounds like? I guess it would be less noisy in an urban environment.

No Matter What Suppersor you have it will make so kind of noise.
Pentobean123 2 years ago
It is still loud because they are using super sonic ammunition. Get some 147grain 9mm and it will be almost movie quiet.

the correct term would be surpressor, and that one is shitty, for a 9mm its pretty fuckin loud

@karinosai I'm not talking about reloading here, I'm correcting you on the fact the silencers do increase FPS instead of reducing it.
