  • gives me goosebumps in the film. so good

  • Hauntingly beautiful... Absolute orgasm for the ears. A stunning movie as well

  • Now go and listen to the rest of Jackson Frank's songs, especially Milk & Honey (cf The Brown Bunny) and Marlene, which features during the end credits.

  • This song made the movie I believe. Especially the choice of John Hawkes playing that role. Just phenomenal. It was a truly eery, moving, and frightening movie.

  • so good!

  • best song ever shes just a picture thats all love it but cant everybody relate to it so

  • whoa...

  • whoa...

  • this scene, as we stare solely at Marcy and hear this song, i got so uncomfortable; dont know if any film has made me feel that way

  • amazing.. but hows about some Aspect Ratio ? you are 'Fox Search Light Pictures?'

  • wooow!

  • This film was so ripped off of Oscars its not even funny. Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Song, Best Original Screenplay... WTF

  • This song should have been nominated for an Oscar, it went so well with the film and John Hawkes can sing!

  • eerie and beautiful.

  • Fuck!!!! i love my woman!!!! you are like a picture baby!!!

  • this song is just a shade, a shadow that hangs behind. thats all

  • Extremely eerie song... Perfectly placed in the film.

  • This cover introduced me to Jackson C Frank and I am so utterly thankful.

  • Why hasn't this song been nominated for any awards? WHAT IS WRONG WITH HOLLYWOOD?

  • @KrueMann1992

"The Academy Award for Best Original Song is one of the awards given annually to people working in the motion picture industry by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). It is presented to the songwriters who have composed the best original song written specifically for a film."

OK ? Now STFU and have a fucking clue before you ask another stupid question mate !

  • @SitComGr Hahahaha wow. First off learn how to read, what I said below was not a question, but a statement. Second off, who starts a fight with someone over youtube comments? Pathetic. Go troll somewhere else

  • Love the expression on Marcy's face when he played this song to her....

  • AWESOMENESS!!!!!!!!!

  • this song was perfect for the movie

  • am I the only one who didn't get the point of the film?

  • @TheJocopista yepp you are.

  • Jesus John way to honor Jacksons's work. You do justice.

  • I can't wait to see the movie :O

  • Beautiful cover

  • Elizabeth Olsen WILL win an Oscar for her performance. Or I'll burn the whole Kodak theater down Oscar night. Such an incredible song, voice, and.actor.

  • if this song doesnt win an oscar. if john hawkes, and elizabeth olsen dont win oscars from this film the academy is soo effed in the head

  • i just want to see the movie cause of this song...when i listened in the trailer...oh my god...was great!!!

  • any one knows about this fingerstyle?

  • gosh, he plays creepy so well. such a haunting song--sung to his new trophy after raping her...

  • My brilliant taste in music brought me here

  • What a great song. So chilling, yet undeniably beautiful.

  • he is brilliant. im not so much a fan of the echo. but who gives a shit lol! fucking fantastic movie!!

  • Liked the version in the movie a bit better. The echo...I hope thats the wright word in english...is a bit overdone by my opinion, still one of the best songs I've heard this year :)

  • Love this song - placed brilliantly in the movie too. Amazing flick!

  • Such a brilliant movie.

  • I feel guilty for liking this version better :/

Just hearing this song makes me want to see the movie more! I can tell it's worth the $8-10

  • I feel like an idiot for liking his interpretation of the song so much, especially after watching the movie. But it's that good.

  • this movie is sooo amazing! so intense! and the performances by Elizabeth Olsen and John Hawkes were impressive! GREAT GREAT MOVIE! LOVED IT.. and this song is just the cherry on top of the ice cream!

  • I love John Hawkes.

  • Hey it's Kenny "Fuckin" Power's brother!

  • Hope he makes a record.

  • Going to see the movie because of this song

  • @burcharg It's too bad for you that this song is the best part of "Martha Marcy May Marlene." The movie's all overblown cinematography with no character development.

  • @DartmouthAlum96 that's unfortunate... maybe i'll just keep watching this video :)

  • @DartmouthAlum96 i'd have to disagree... i found the characters to be beautifully drawn, with just enough detail to allow the viewer to infer the rest. and as far as the 'overblown' cinematography i can understand what you're saying, but when considering it was the director's first feature you can understand the desire to flex a little bit. of course we all have different tastes, but i highly recommend the film.

  • @alphagusto In many ways, I totally agree with you. MMMM isn't a perfect film, but there are definitely parts of it I can't get out of my head. The scene where Patrick plays this song to his coterie of nubile followers is a perfect example. Until I saw that scene, I'd never fully understood how Charles Manson was capable of so thoroughly brainwashing the members of his "family." MMMM is profoundly haunting, but I still wish that there had been more backstory.

  • I hope he gets a 2nd consecutive Oscar nomination. Hawkes FTW! This guy's awesome!

  • fucking incredible. I haven't even seen the movie yet but the way he sings it has haunted me for weeks since I've seen the trailer. Goosebumps are collecting on my skin. Art. Pure art.

  • Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!! This song alone makes the movie worth it.

  • @lfcruzsierra thins song is haunting.

  • @lfcruzsierra correct

  • A face for film

  • Its amazing how well John Hawkes can sing this song!

  • Beautiful cover of a beautiful song. This makes me want to see the movie more than the trailer did
