  • @iDPG95 That is correct. Just a naturally aspirated DOHC 4.6 liter.

  • this ISNT supercharged right?

  • @IDontHateOnCars The 99's and 01's came with 3.27's. They went 3.55 in the Mach1 and 03 Cobra.

  • Love to find a wrecked cobra for a swap or just use the new 5.0 crate motor.

  • nice x pipe

  • Wtf? Lol no, that is far far from true. Wtf? Lol

  • @shoreholden What are you commenting about?

  • Is that bad when the tires slip like that when your gunning it? Cuase im new to my cobra and i race all the time lol, and mine does that but my friend say its the tranny slipping and im gonna blow it, is that true?

  • @sandman6161994 Yup.

  • @sandman6161994 Other than wear on the tires, there's no harm in chirping them like that.

  • I want one now^^ :P

  • This guys a dumb ass. Your funny cause ford uses small v8's that still beat chevy and dodges bigger v8's lol so don't go around saying all mustangs are slow. Ever heard of a terminator/ gt500/ Mach 1/ everyother fucken v8 above 99

  • @m69ortiz Do you remember 1993 to 2002? The LT1/LS1 engines in the Camaro/Firebird? Every year from '93 to '02 the Camaro walked the Mustang.

  • @Quatermain98526 i dont think so man i have a 99 cobra and i walk all over the Lt1 and Ls1s i ether walk on em in 3rd or are dead even wit em so idk where u get that shit from

  • @sctsvtcobra From 1993 to 2002 the LT1 and LS1 walked every single Mustang GT out there. The Cobra can hang in there, because they have about the same HP, over 300. I respect Cobra's, but my LS1 will shit all over a GT.

  • @sctsvtcobra oh ok i respect that but i thought u were talking bout the cobra and idk i have a cobra too but my lil 01 gt might surprise u i know it has me

  • green light means the wheels are spinning

  • you are dumb all that posted

  • @Chevyguy2003 an svt would beat a cobalt..the infiniti m35 beats a cobalt ss (ive raced one for proof not on my chan but i have a vid) idk if it was the turbo or sc but it was a decent race.i also raced a svt that ik was modded and it walked me

  • that was terrible compared to the 2003- 2004 svt cobra

  • @dondfromdc

well it's missing a big whirley-do on top of the engine that provides more go fast.

  • @evanmurray Even with the big whirley-do poopcharger it'd still be slow. All Mustangs are slow. There has never been a fast Mustang made, ever. That's not a bad thing though. With their raspy X pipes and good looks, Mustangs are good for cruising to the beach and picking up all the girlies.

  • @lunastorm1056 there has never been a fast mustang made? are you kidding me of course there has

  • @lunastorm1056 im a chevy guy to the bone and i have to disagree. . . . there are plenty of fast mustangs and if u really think there arent then theres sumthin seriously wrong

  • @evanmurray Cobras only recently came with Super Chargers... before they were just 5.4 liters with a beefier Transmission, and other stuff.

  • @srrymonkey Actually they were still the same displacement (4.6L) but the 96-01 Cobra had Dual overhead cams (DOHC) vs a regular GT's single (SOHC) thats why the heads were so much bigger and why they sound so much sweeter. gotta love a Cobra :)

  • @sdc2008 Ahh well thanks for the information! And yes Gotta love Cobra's.

  • Just sold my 96 gt yesterday for $2300. I have $2900 to work with and there's a 99 cobra with 03-04 body kit & 3.73's @ 10k miles fo $13k 20 miles from here. I'm going to go pick it up today!!! Later!!!

  • .... i have a 96 gt for sale lol and i just bought a 99 cobra on friday but still tryna get rid of the gt hahaha

  • for how much?

  • @XxAwesomeness312xX someone is actually buying it tomorrow for $1000 and its totaled ahaha

  • That was the traction control kicking on because of the tires breaking loose on the shifts.

  • yeah keep that off, on my '04 GT it can make a huge difference in acceleration

  • @fordmechanic27 stickier tires and turn off trac control

  • termi's are overrated...lmao just kidding i would love to have one but unfortunatley until i get out of college im poor and will have to stay with my 97 lol

  • Those are great cars, I had a 99GT and an 04 SVT Terminator. I also owned an SRT8 Dodge, the Fords held up way better and I was always harder on the Fords, I had nothing but problems with the Dodge and found others were too.

  • Yeah, I've got 141,000 miles on it and I still drive it like the day I got it. Man, I would love to have an 03/04 Terminator. What have you done to your 04?

  • Nice! Did an underdrive pulley, big ass intake, lighter driveshaft and had it power programmed on a dyno by a professional tuning company. Doesn't take much to get some serious HP, I was pretty surprised at the numbers and thought it was going to take more to get it up there!

  • forgot, also did exhaust with some big Borla exhaust I think, which really helps combined with everything given they're supercharged and need to breathe.

  • @dodgechryslersucks I got a 06 srt8 charger and not one problem with it at 51k hemis are damn good motors looks to me like you just hate chrysler.

  • @larryadam2 That's "your" experience, lots of people have had problems with so-called HEMI's burning oil having blue smoke from the exhaust or making loud tapping noise from bad lifters. I owned one, been there, garbage, glad you like yours.

  • @larryadam2 I've been contacted by plenty of people with HEMI problems. I say so-called because they're not even true HEMI's anymore, it's a marketing gimmick people who don't know better fall for. I got screwed and knowing all I know have plenty of reason to hate Chrysler. Bet yours hasn't caught on fire yet either? Watch out, I got a bunch of videos and photos of Charger's with faulty electrical systems going up in flames, hopefully you'll continue to be lucky.

  • @dodgechryslersucks Lol i highly doubt my srt8 is ganna catch fire and the last hemi pick i had 182,000 miles when i sold it and now i have a 06 cummins the best diesel motor hands down. The only time ive heard of faulty electrical systems was on the 04-06 gtos

  • @larryadam2 ha only 04-06GTO's huh? eh, some people only see or believe what they want to believe. Didn't know about the LX Platform (Charger, 300, Magnum's bursting into flames), I got photos on my channel, have been contacted by quite a few people. One person who had to hire a lawyer to go after Chrysler finally got Chrysler to admit they knew of several hundred reports (known). Now ya know!

  • @dodgechryslersucks Must be in just the v6s never heard of a hemi catching fire my point is every car dealer has had problems with there cars wasnt it the ford pinto that had shity gas tanks

  • @larryadam2 funny you say that, Chrysler didn't learn from the Ford Pinto with their Jeep Grand Cherokees, since 1993 up till like 2004 they had plastic "unprotected" fuel tanks that stick out exposed below the rear bumper. I get complaints about those too bursting into flames when hit just right rear ended at speeds as low as 25MPH, people have died but Chrysler doesn't give a shit. Give me any defect from any other automaker and I can show you where Chrysler already has had it beat.

  • @dodgechryslersucks I dont no why you hate chrsler i got a 2006 cummins what are you ganna tell me that the ford or chevy gets better millage and last longer lmao

  • @larryadam2 First Cummins is NOT Chrysler, it's Cummins, Laugh your ass off all you want but I'm LMAO knowing you've got "car" grade front end steering and suspension components, dinky ass suspension control arms and a host of other substandard and inadequate vehicle issues. I'm sorry but it's the truth LOL! Don't feel too special Cummins or not, I get plenty of RAM complaints, some would blow your mind. Hope ya stay lucky!

  • @dodgechryslersucks First off i no cummins is not made by chrsler and second ive never had a problem with my cars or trucks have a great day.

  • @dodgechryslersucks Same, my 91 5.0 was WAY more durable than my 96 Trans am.

  • @dodgechryslersucks Agreed. Dodge and chrysler make nice lookin cars and the engines are alright, but everything else on them doesnt seem to hold up from the ones ive seen and owned...

  • forget 4.10's 4.30's or bust n/a! :) its hella fun

  • 4.56's haha... i got 4.30 and i really want the 4.56's

  • 3.73's are better then 4.10's i think.. Ive got a 96 cobra

  • yeah, if I change out my gears I'll go with the 3.73 simply for the lower highway rpms as opposed to the 4.10's. 3.73's would definitely make a difference compared to my stock 3.27's

  • @fordmechanic27 Are the 99 cobra's 3.27 or 3.55 stock ?

  • ive got 4.30s in mine and love them the only thing i would like bout having 3.73's would be for highway use bc in 5th at 80mph im at 3100 rpms

  • @rhino2198 if you want to accelerate fast in an n/a 4 valve that's relatively stock (bolt ons, exhaust) you need at least 4.10s, that's what I had in my 97...if I get another one or a mach I'm going 4.30s this time. don't be afraid of the gear these cars LOVE to rev ecspecially the cobras because they lack bottom end more than the machs do....but they all scream to 7 and need low gears. 4.30s ftw!!!!!

  • i didnt know this car had long ass gears wow

  • they come with 3.31 gears stock. 4.10's really open these bad boys up

  • 3.27's actually. The 05 and newer mustangs get the 3.31's

  • whoops my bad....i stand corrected ha ha.

  • you are correct though, 4.10's do turn these cars into a whole new animal.

  • I have a 3.27 in my Gt, i am hoping to shift to a 3.73. Always wanted a cobra, and the 99 with teksids sound great, but i just don't know if the difference is really that noticable to wanna get rid of my wheels. Mind you i could always trade mine for a hardtop, i have a convertible so maybe the value comes equal.

  • do not go with a 99 cobra lol,,,get an 01...there were to many problems with the 99 and u really dont know when ur bying the 99 if it got "the fix"...

  • Just call Svt and ask them... most of them were fixed. It was only an intake manifold and a computer reflash anyways....

  • if you know where to look you will. Their is a green or blue dot on the intake manifold.

  • turn the trac off for faster times...

  • hey dude i have a 99 cobra as well i had 2 buddies in the back seat and grabbed 3rd doin around 80 snapped my front u-joint. my h pipe held my drive shaft up so it beat the shit out of my yoke you think the tranny will be alright? its not leaking or any thing

  • if your running 9.29's in the 1/8 mile, there is something very very wrong with either your car or you. I'm running 9.5's in my 3.8L, i should be nowhere close to you. you should be runnning mid-to-low 8's. turn your trac. control off, the entire time that light is on your timing is retarded.

  • Just an off road x pipe with Flowmaster Delta flow 40 series and a K&N filter. Nothing much.

  • I just didn't. No reason for it. Just forgot to. Happened once at the drag strip. I killed my car in the staging lanes because there was a long line. I forgot to turn it off when I started back up to run...killed my time. I launched, spun, lost power due to traction control kicking in, missed 2nd gear shift while trying to reach down to turn off the traction control. Even after all of that I still ran a 9.6 in the 1/8th. It was a disaster of a run, but a 9.6 wasn't bad for having that happen.

  • man i thought they came with 3.55s. thats messed up. oh well i just spun a rod bearing anyway. on to the next project 93 gt!

  • what type of gears are u running? in my 99 cobra, in third gear the best i could do was between 102 and 104mph in third. i know this because everytime i ran at the track i would trap 102 or 104 redlined in third. i didnt change the gears in mine and i think they were stock as far as i know, but if your still running 3.55s then i got short changed somewhere because your at 110mph with a little more rpm to play with. wish mine was that way....

  • 99 cobras came factory with 3.27's. So someone must have changed yours out to 3.55's. Another test, on the highway in 5th gear in my car I am running right close to 2000~2100 rpm at 70mph. I was a Ford technician for 3 years, so I know for a fact that 3.27's came in them factory. If you have 3.55's, you should notice a little more pull off of the line though.

  • What's that light that goes on at 0:09 mean?

  • That is the traction control light. It is actually a picture of a tire spinning. When the tires spun in 1-2 shift it came on. It also came on in the 2-3 shift. I have caught a lot of crap from people telling me to turn off my traction control. They think I don't know about it. I got my Associates degree in applied science in Automotive and graduated with honors, so I know my stuff.

  • Hi, I am going to but 1999 mustang with 120k on it.. I was doing a little research...but can u tell me are these reliable?

  • this mustang is tuned the 99 mustang cobra's were not a much of a divrint then GT but the 03-04 Cobra mustang's where supercharge and nice stuff like that

  • all I have is a k&n filter in the stock airbox and a bbk off-road x pipe

  • saw an 88 mustang for 2,000 today, nearly got it

  • Turn your traction control off.

  • do you think its possible to get a 03-04 cobra for 5000$? id like it to run without problems and willing to work on it.

  • no, I just did a blue book value on one, they are still selling in to low 20's. Heck my car listed a private party value of $6900. That's with 125,000 miles on it. If you were to find a newer cobra for anywhere near 5000 you would be absolutely stealing it from someone.

  • dam... but the normal GT's run a bit lower in prive right? think i should minimum think of 8000$

  • you could get a 99 for right under 10....5g's you could get a mid to early-90s stang

  • dude ur nuts! For 5000 ur lucky to find a decent Gt.

  • no.. i just dont really know the price range on american cars.. live in europe but gonna go to the states this summer. then its nice to know the price range :-)

  • oh well that explains it. Good luck. Just dont by anything but a Mustang or Real Americans wont Respest you!! lol

  • 12,500? Very good price. I payed 10,500 for my 01 GT with some minor mods. Very good deal. Pretty fast as well.

  • I payed 12,500 for my car almost 4 years ago. Not too bad I would say.

  • no supercharger ick!

  • 4.10's? haha my 4.30's 1st gear is fun

  • Wow I remember when my 99 cobra was that slow, and he still has a 1st gear, with 4.10's my first gear does not really exist anymore.....

  • i was going to go with a stroker kit, but these engines its not the stroke thats the problem its the bore size.

400whp is obtainable with a N/A setup but your talking some cash to get there, re-build, ported intake, heads, or a fr500 intake, cams etc your looking at over $7000 right there lol

  • yeah man get 4.30's in that rear it makes the car really fun to drive...yeah i dynoed 300/300 on a mustang dyno with just exhaust. but im taking my engine out now sending to modularperformance for a billet big bore!!

  • hell yeah, you're getting ready to spend some money. I'm just going to wait for something to happen to mine which will probably be a long time. When that time comes I'll rebuild it with some nice internals. Stroke it to a 5 liter. I'd really love to build it as a turbo car, but I don't feel like dropping that kind of money at the moment. If I could get close to 400 out of it N/A I'd be very happy.

  • my 99 stops making power at 6300 so i shift at 6000-6200

  • have you ever had your car dyno'd? I never have had mine done, it's pretty much stock, just the off road x pipe is all I have done to it. It's just a fun daily driver.

  • i think your losong power by waiting til after 6 grand to shift, u should shift around 5,500 cause after that your actually losing pull. But anyways i have a 99 svt cobra and thats where i shift. They are bad ass though arent they? fuck you stupid ass riceburners,

  • hell yeah man, these cars are fun. I've got 116,000 miles on mine now. It uses a little oil, but nothing to be concerned about. I still drive the hell out of it all the time. Just a daily driver. I've ran it a couple of times at a local track, it ran 9.29 at 79 mph in the 1/8th mile was my best run on some bald street tires.

  • you have the traction control on

  • I loled

  • thats a pretty slow cobra.. and yes my car can beat it.. not by much tho but it can beat it nonetheless

  • my 4 banger n/a is faster.......

  • Dude your 4 banger couldn't beat a GT let alone a Cobra. so just run along and play with your little toy car.

  • u full of shit

  • hell yeah man.... way to rip ass

  • HAHAHAHA Thanks for the comment man, that's a friend of mine who left those comments on mine. I told him to just to be funny and stir up shit lol I guess it did. Nice coby bro it sounds good. If you get a chance, rate my vid I'll rate yours. Peace main...

  • anny mods? or is it largely stock?

  • Yeah, it's mostly stock. Just a bbk off road x pipe, k&n air filter which doesn't really count as a mod. Keep in mind this car has 112,000 miles on it too. It could probably use cylinder hone and some new rings, but I'm just going to wait until something happens.

  • Well thats kewl it def. hauls tail. I am looking into buying a Cobra pretty soon. I have an 02 GT right now.
