  • It reminds me of "The Doors - When The Music Is Over"

  • Pure magic.

  • DEATH

  • Their records hold up for me more than a lot of the folks that time. Get it how the drums sound like waves? So cool!

  • I had been there, what a night. Great

  • Does any user have "The Adversary" that was the song they included in the OST of the Venders movie "Until the End of the World"? any hint would be appreciated a lot

  • @malehawk Yes, I have it, Do u still need it?

  • @nitolyn Yes please

  • Definitely the best band ever !!!

Great to see it here. I will never forget this festival. The line up was amazing: Die Haut, Crime & the City Solution, Butthole Surfers, The Fall, Swans and finally Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds.

It's a pity this awesome band lost the way and tried to force success later on with corny pop songs. :( Simon Bonney was a fantastic singer and performer - imho actually even more facinating than the (of course) magnificent Mr. Nick Cave.

  • @kidcongo69

    Butthole Surfers?!

  • @beowulven

Yes, of course, the Butthole Surfers

They were absolutely spectacular that evening presenting an amazing freak show: splatter clips in the background, 2 drum sets on the left, 2 completely naked gogo girls dancing on the right of the stage and Gibson Haynes in the front creating huge, meter high flames up to the ceiling using a jerry can of gasoline spread on a ride cymbal, enflamed by a lighter and hit all the way up with a drum stick …

Loved it - the Rembrandt Pussyhorse era

  • @kidcongo69

Yeah, I'm familiar with their brand of "yuk yuk" rock. Almost as funny as "Weird" Al Yankovic. Whatever.

  • Amazing

  • blazing, beautiful, ghostly goings on

  • wow - this is one of the most complete music clips I've ever seen. What energy!

  • Too bad Simon fucked up Alex's leg.

  • fantastic!! ethereal but heavy, sparce and crushing, um... destructive while nebulous!?

  • All hail C+CS. What price a reunion?

  • Reeling. I suspect this is the best snatch of live music I've ever come across. Best band in the history of the universe. Box-sets now. Where on Earth can I get a copy of 'The Kentucky Click?'

  • I'm pretty sure it's on the CD release of Room of Lights. I still have the 12" (B side of the "Adventure" single).

A major Thank You to whom uploaded this! I saw them in Amsterdam on this tour, for an audience of maybe 50 people. A bit of a shame for the band, but it was a great experience!

  • Oops. Just checked and it isn't on that CD. My record shop guy would say "try to download it somewhere", which I guess is why they are out of business now.

  • Where is this video from?? Is there a dvd of this material???? I MUST HAVE IT

  • @cinnmcrickson

It's from "Kings Of Independence" festival, recorded in august 1987, and released on VHS in 1989.

The Tape also includes Nick Cave and Swans footage.

  • omfg what a great band...heavier than a thousand metal groups, passionate & emotional but no 'emo' shite, and definitely better than their counterparts the bad seeds, as much as i love the birthday party and nick cave.

  • Rowland? Rowland?????? Rowland?!!!!!!

    I'm looking but I can't see him...

    That is Alexander Hacke.

  • You might want to try Swans too. In fact, those guys all played together at that show.

  • omfg what a band...heavier than a thousand metal bands. and definitely better than their cousins the bad seeds, in my humble opinion.

  • can't believe it's here, many thanks!!!

  • great!! tnks!!!

  • Thanks for the upload.

  • ah <3
