is not tradition MAN MADE???? so therefore it cannot be defined as the word of God... i will give you all a perfect example of how the catholic church does not follow the word of God... typically and need i say traditionally catholic baptisms occur during the infant/ toddler years... Jesus was baptised in his 30s... and rightfully so when one is able to understand and acquire the knowledge needed for communication , worship, prayer and righteousness.. it makes perfect sense to me....
@bambirette1 people didn't live long during those times, during those times Christians were persecuted so it was thought that by baptizing the children asap was the way to go as they assume that the parents would do their duty and raise them in the teachings of the Church
@steventorres96 i'm costarican, and i'm am talking about a piece of cloth, that has a drop of teh dead pope's blood, and people, gives devotion to it, can you write in spanish?
@VicJohn2 The doubts that, even if you use logic that "traditions" are both oral and written that, you first need the oral tradition to exist before having that tradition written on paper/papyrus/parchment, etc. What I am saying is, that early Church Fathers were ordinary men with jobs, etc and they needed to live their own lives, they have their own problems. But when they had the spare time they would preach (preaching is oral), later they would consolidate their preaching by writing it down
@VicJohn2 it has nothing to do with anything, I was only guessing at what you were trying to say, but then you went on the "doubt" path...w/e glad we cleared that up. So what do you mean by "this guy is a heretic"?
@TheJazuma I dont see how there could be any tradition that was not written down..It was once a word of mouth yes..but then it was written down in what we have as the Bible. Even if its not written down it shouldnt be different from what the word of God (Bible) says. I dont understand how if the oral wasnt written down you could somehow think it is acceptable as truth, when there is written tradition that exists
@VicJohn2 it's called the catechism, and they are written down. they are just not part of the gospel. the gospel is God's reaffirmed love for us. The other traditions like, how to baptize, abortion, contraception, etc are written in the catechism. Which btw, is one HUGE book.
@VicJohn2 it has nothing to do with anything, I was only guessing at what you were trying to say, but then you went on the "doubt" path...w/e glad we cleared that up. So what do you mean by "this guy is a heretic"?
Protestantism is so immature - these heretics worship their own flawed interpretation of Holy Scripture and IGNORE the tradition that created the Bible in the first place!
Christ did not come to Earth to give us a book to worship - He came to save us from our sins and BUILD A CHURCH. He taught His disciples through oral tradition, and hundreds of years later some decided to write down SOME of what Christ said.
Protestants worship the product: the Bible. Us Catholics worship Christ.
poor idiots that fallow that church,,, now they have the blood of the pope going places and people are craying, whiping with cloth, the image that carrys it, and thiink that itt becomes holly,,, man tradition, that are not biblical, how dear them waste time with the blood of a dead guy,,, when they should be prasing the blood of Christ, the one that saves
@albusai There is nothing wrong with devoting oneself to the Saints, and if the Pope you are talking about is John Paul II, he has been declared Blessed by the Church, and this guarantees that he in in Heaven with our Blessed Lord. The Communion of Saints is something that EVERY Christian should be striving for - to be One with Jesus in Heaven.
We should be so lucky to be declared a Saint by Christ's Catholic Church.
Catholic Faith is the 1 true faith; No 1 can go to heaven through faith alone but through faith and good work, even says in the bble and only Catholic believe it..Theirs only 1 God and his son Jesus, morman believed theirs 3 God and man can have wife more than 1, and they will become God of their own planet...What kind of a bullshit is that?...very funny pple awe...
@tonganfoilole69 you wanna know whats bullshit? believing some book that wasnt written AT ALL until 100 years after the star is dead and then slamming it with another book full of great things like god endorses slavery and selling of children etc and calling it "the word of god" or the "bible" and saying that what is in this book is the be all and end all of humanity, people should be more concerned with stepping in dogshit than what christians or catholics believe
One day you will stand before Jesus on judgement day and see everything you have done. What will say when you see the part you are bashing his mother and saying that Jesus couldn't send her to the earth to tell the people to repent and come back
There are men uniting against the catholic church and the apparitions of our lady because of repentance of sins by millions of people and the devil doesn't like this. Men are uniting to destroy and blaspheme and profane in order to persecute the catholic church and christian people. Looks like this guy is one of those people.
Wolf in sheep's clothing. How can he say he is christian, follower of Jesus, and bash Jesus's mother.
What freemason secret society are you with anyway?
Bluetew, your wrong Jesus doesn't interceed on our behalf he is a mediator see 1 Timothy 2:5. However in 1 Timothy 2:1 st Paul urges that we intercede for one another, which means you can use your brothers and sisters for that. The bible also says baptism now saves you.
Jesus intercedes on our behalf( NOT Mary.Jesus said,"Who is My mother and who are My brothers?"And stretching out His hand toward His disciples,He said" Here are My mother and My brothers! For WHOEVER does the will of My Father in heaven,That person is My brother, sister, and mother."(Matthew 12:48-50) .The pope IS NOT holy.He is a sinner in need of a Savior.Infant baptism does nothing to save the child.
It seems to me that the bible is very clear that God is not concerned with the words we speak but the desires of our hearts. And to be honest i see a lot more people with loving hearts for the Lord at my local community church than i ever did during my first 20 years of catholic mass. It's really sad to see 500 people completely heartlessly saying all the prayers and stuff during a Catholic mass. And out of this world to see 500 people pouring their hearts out to God at a protestant one
@lovepirate14 I don't often respond to comments anymore but this is so disturbing that I feel I must. How do you know that the 500 people were "heartlessly saying all the prayers"? Does not Scripture say that only God knows the hearts of men? Did God bestow this power on lovepirate14 so that you may judge the hearts of men?
@haojiesheng that is a fair point, and i don't feel like arguing over youtube comments but if we ever meet in heaven we can have a nice chat about it then :)
Protestantism is completely man-made. Use the brain that God gave you and research it on your own. Go to unbiased sources. Not just people who will continue to brainwash you.
The King James Version was written in 1611. It is a Church of England translation of the Christian Bible. It leaves out entire sections of the original due to decisions made by Parliment a few centuries ago. Research this on your own. I'll stick with the original Bible thank you. The one with all of God's Word not just the parts some members of Parliament decided I could have.
If anything is man made it is Protestantism. One must consider Martin Luther's truly man made journey to Protestantism so called "true and Biblical Christianity".
The Catholic Bible was compiled in 393 AD. The "extra" chapters are the ones that Protestant revisionists took out, then lied to the people about. In other words (I'm translating this for the DVD generation), the Catholic Bible is the "Director's Cut" of the Bible, and what Protestant read today is the edited-for-mass-consumption version.
Oh, and the King James Version was actually overseen by Francis Bacon, who was a HUGE occultist. So there's that, too..
catholics pray to mary to get to god "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" its in the bible! there is nothing you can say to argue against plain words and try to twist em !
@JOAOBUNITAO --and we are all mediators between man and jesus, but on a lower level; whenever someone prays on the behalf of someone or tries to explain the gospel to someone we are acting as mediators betweeen them and jesus. Mediatorship is the whole point of evangelization.
Research these things for yourself, look at the church without condemning it until you've honestly looked at everything you can and then come to a conclusion.
@safetyvlv JESUS SPOKE OUT AGAINST CATHOLICS ! "Why doth this man (Catholic Priests) speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but GOD ONLY." this is blasphemy in the catholic religion and you also call your priest father! "And call no man your FATHER (this includes Priests) upon the earth: for one is your Father which is in heaven." please disprove these words by using the scripture! jesus came here and spoke out against your pagan tradition
@JOAOBUNITAO --jesus gave his priest the authority to forgive sins in his name: "Whose sins you forgive, they are forgiven, whose sins you do not forgive, they are not forgiven". -St Johns Gospel
And st paul said that he himself is "our father in christ jesus", so either paul was wrong to say that or you are incorect in what you believe the verse to mean.
Btw remember gentlemen the Catholic church is the pilgram church founded by Christ, wether you believe it or not.
The Catholic church is 2000 yrs old and will continue and it goes on saving souls, providing miracles and providing hope to those looking for the truth.
I suggest you check out John Martignone's web site "Bible Christian Society" and "Catholic Answers" as well as the cathecism of the Catholic church and other reputable sources.
The answer to this question is an absolute "yes"! I have a time-line that shows the years man-man traditions crept into the catholic cult and by whom.
o my god! if you spread a rumor to a 100 people! the rumor you started will sound different in the 100th person than the the rumor you begun people will add things to their benifit .... if oral tradition is so important than why did jesus's followers write down his teachings? when it was much easier to just say it by mouth? they wrote it so it would not be stained by other people when they were gone
It comes down to this folks. We are talking about man made traditions well then... Martin Luther the founder of the "reformation" started this all. ONE man confused and stirred up a can of worms that has created scisms from the Catholic church from then on to the tune of 35,000 christian denominations (protestant) as we see today. Who btw don't agree on much let alone the road to salvation. This was started by ONE MAN... case closed bam!
@safetyvlv Wow. 35,000? I heard it was 30,000. Which is true? Also, NO-ONE has ever been able to list them for me, so this is a complete lie, as is the catholic cult as a whole.
@kiwichristian2009 Look hard enuf and you'll find them kiwi and you can find them on the internet I believe. Why do you call the Catholic faith a lie and a cult.
What do you base this information on. As I said, prior to the reformation there were no other Christian faiths, none.
We can trace our papel successors back to St Peter. Your belief is based on "Bible Alone" which was decided by Martin Luther. Don't believe me, look up the history of the Reformation.
@safetyvlv You should always be able to back up things you say.You have failed to provide evidence. I call the catholic organisation a lie because it claims to be Christian, yet the organisations' teachings and doctrines are in COMPLETE OPPOSITION to the Word of God.It is a cult on so many levels. It has ruled with an iron fist and through fear for centuries. It is responsible for the torture and murder of MILLIONS. You can trace no such thing my friend, because the "rock" is Christ, not peter.
@safetyvlv Kiwi what can I say, you believe in "Sola Scriptura". No such thing the bible doesn't teach it never has never will. Show me one passage that says " scripture alone "is the one source for interpreting the bible. You can't because it doesn't. What for that matter makes your interpretation of the bible more valid than someone elses? Why do you continue to avoid the Reformation and Martin Luther. Sorry kiwi I will pray for you.
@safetyvlv Hello friend. The Bible implies 'sola scriptura' all over the place. If I write a story about my life playing baseball, the wins the losses etc. yet I don't actually say "I am a baseball player" in the story, does that mean I am not? Of course not. My baseball story would imply that I am one without actually saying it.
@johnthreesixteen316 John before I say anything else. Are you aware that the "sola scriptura" interpretation of the bible started 500 yrs ago by Martin Luther? Prior to that there was no such interpretation. Did you also know that ONE man Martin Luther removed 7 books from the bible and put them in the class of "apochraphyl" books in all protestant bibles? Did you also know from that point on Martin Luther and John Calvin caused an explosion of different christian faiths in the 30000+ mark?
@safetyvlv Hello friend. Scripture implies 'sola scriptura' from the very beginning when the originals were written. The books of the apocrypha are not inspired by God. Did you know that the Roman Catholic church doesn't include some of those books too?
@safetyvlv Who cares about protestant denominations and Roman Catholicism. The true church of Jesus Christ is a relationship, not a membership. It isn’t any particular protestant denomination or Roman catholic. It doesn't have a roof or an address. We are the Body of Christ, past, present and future from all around the world who have accepted Christ’s work on the cross for our sins 2000 years ago, once and for all. 1 cross + 3 nails = 4 given.
@johnthreesixteen316 John My New American Bible (which btw was approved by P.P.VI) lists all 7 books in the old testament Tobit,Judith,Esther, first book of Maccabees,2nd Maccabees,Wisdom and Sirach. I'm sorry John read Matt 16:18-19. Christ has given us an apostolic head which the Catholic Church can trace from Benedict all the way back to Peter. No other church can claim that history or charge laid upon it. Why have you not commented on my statement about Martin Luther and the reformation?
@safetyvlv Hello friend. I don't really care what Martin Luther said or did. All I care about is what is written in the original Greek. That is the most reliable source we have for truth. I don't really care how many protestant denominations there are. It doesn't matter anyways because the true church of Christ has nothing to do with denominations or Roman Catholicism. It's all about a relationship, not a membership.
@johnthreesixteen316 John is it, really. I think not. The Catholic church has a papacy which it can trace back to Peter. There have been many twists and turns put on the original Greek text by so called "bible" scholars.
As far as Martin Luther goes , you ought to care. Because of his heresy there are people as yourself who in many ways manipulate scriptures to fit there cause. I highly doubt your experience with the greek text can counter the thousands of hours Catholic theologianshavestudied.
@safetyvlv Hello friend. The Books of the Apocrypha are not inspired by God. The main themes contradict the other books. They preach a different message.
@johnthreesixteen316 That's why jerome initially rejected them. The authors are unknown, they are written in a different language to the Bible and dont claim inspiration!
@johnthreesixteen316 That's why jerome initially rejected them. The authors are unknown, they are written in a different language to the Bible and dont claim inspiration!
@johnthreesixteen316 It appears they were ultimately accepted at Trent, because without doing so, the Catholic Church had no scripture upon which to base the doctrine of purgatory, invocation and intercession of the saints, the worship of angels, the redemption of souls after death, etc. In fact, if you'll look at the Catholic Encyclopedia, you'll find discussion of "problems" or "errors" with most of the apocryphal books.
@johnthreesixteen316 The Roman Catholic church teaches that Scripture AND Tradition together are the Church's supreme rule of faith. The Bible does not teach that! Scripture alone is the Church's rule of faith (Holy Bible: Mark 7:7-13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).
@kiwichristian2009 Kiwi yet another Martin Luther, John Calvin falicy "Scripture alone" "Bible Alone". Two ordinary men, not given charge by Christ. Just their own private interpretation. ONLY Peter and his successors where given this charge. Everything after the reformation is heresy.
@safetyvlv "Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively applied to myself and Apollos for your sakes, so that in us you may learn not to exceed what is written, so that no one of you will become arrogant in behalf of one against the other." 1 Corinthians 4:6
@kiwichristian2009 Kiwi don't have a complete list of protestant denominations but here's something to start with. Check out April 16 2001 Newsweek Magazine pg 10.
Btw please don't take ex Catholic clergy testimony for face value. I think in many cases you'll find that there are different sides to the story of there conversion. If you want to know what the Catholic Church teaches get a hold of a cathechism and read for yourself.
@safetyvlv "Kiwi don't have a complete list of protestant denominations ", so if you do not know there are 35,000 denominations, say what you DO know and what you can substantiate. You class every person who disagrees with your antichrist pope as a "protestant", so yes, there will be quite a few! I have looked at the cathechism, my friend and know what the catholic cult teaches and what the Word of God teaches. The two are not the same.
@safetyvlv Hello friend. Our names have been written in the Book of Life from the beginning. 1 cross + 3 nails = 4 given.
@johnthreesixteen316 Hi John been there done that, was a fundamental bornagain believer for a number of years until I started asking questions. Questions like if there's a Baptist church on a given street than why does there need to be a Pentacostal,Methodist,Sevenday Adventist almost side by side. All supposedly correct in there interpretation of the bible yet not agreeing on much of anything. Sorry John the one true holy apostolic church is and always will be Catholic
@safetyvlv Hello friend. The true church of Jesus Christ is a relationship, not a membership. It isn’t any particular protestant denomination or Roman catholic. It doesn't have a roof or an address. @kiwichristian2009 Why is that Kiwi, maybe because we'd have a thousand "theologians" put there spin on the Holy Scriptures.
Really it comes down to this, you believe the Catholic church is the on founded by Christ and has succeeded for 2000 years or you don't.
Either you believe Martin Luther,John Calvin started the reformation and took it upon themselves (not Christ) to have (whats led up to be) a free for all as far as Christianity goes or you don't ...its that simple.
FREAKING CATHOLICS! you just admitted you are following man made traditions! you do not know who stared the tradition man made traditions is dangerous thing! look at the the book of jerimiah! when the people are worshiping the "queen of heaven" it is said that its a tradition that is passed on by men ! the things your are doing is considered a sin in the bible! so what you are saying is man made traditions are more important than the scripture itself?
"Do Catholics Add Man-Made Traditions to the Bible? "
That's the wrong question, as it takes for granted the rightness of the Protestant position; it implicitly concedes that "By Scripture Alone" is true Christian teaching - yet BSA is impossible to establish by Scripture alone. The silence of the Bible is no problem for Catholics - but fatal to Evangelical Protestant doctrine. They are reduced to using Catholic thinking. Catholic doctrine is echoed in the Bible, *not* based on it.
Then the Pharisees and scribes asked [Jesus], why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is WRITTEN [Jesus is quoting the Bible], This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
@5355vbxjbj76rvn Rubbish it takes for granted no-such thing. The question may be better phrased as "Why have different PEOPLE introduced different "traditions" and teachings and beliefs into the catholic organisation at DIFFERENT times in history. If this cult was established by Jesus ( which the Bible clearly says it wasn't ), then these things would have been there "from the start". But they werent.
@Core1138 "Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? [Y]e made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. Ye hypocrites."
@JOAOBUNITAO: The traditions they had though was all they performed, they did not have God in their hearts and still did the traditions. They were empty on the inside, I'm catholic and while I sin many times I still believe in god and accept him as my master. The Pharisees though did not, they placed faith in themselves and became their own Gods.
I think the rule should be, 'The Traditions should never contradict the Word of God.' However, this rule is dependent upon how one regards scripture. Is it the inerrant word of God, word for word or is it the Word of God in the words of men and therefore allows for errors in history and science? Once one studies the Bible it becomes complicated and there are no easy answers. However, what I see is catholics and protestants bashing each other over the head.
@modomnoc1 Amen. It is not a so much a case of "Bible alone" ( even though we know it should be! ), but it is a case of these catholic "traditions" and teachings that are OPPOSITE of the Word of God, like ever-virgin mary, sinless mary, assumption of mary, masses, modern sacrificial priesthood, extreme unction, confession to a priest, rosary beads, praying to mary and other dead people, indulgances, etc. that are ALL in OPPOSITION to the Word of God
RRGISON has made some very good observations concerning Catholics first love witch is tradition. Man made tradition is against gods law. traditions Passed down from long ago are false gods such as Baal dagon Ester Tammuz Egyption gods witch are still relevant in the catholic church today!
False teachers and churches will never say "Jesus is not the Son of God" nor say that "Salvation has to be earned." because it is too obvious. To decieve must be camouflaged to look ordinary & legitiment. Therefore, the Jehovah's Witnesses say "Yes Jesus is God's Son" but deny His Deity, & Catholics as well as others say "Merit" salvation when in essence its not all that different from the error itself.
@rrgison "To decieve must be camouflaged to look ordinary" Like "We declare, say, define, and pronounce that it is absolutely necessary for the salvation of every human creature to be subject to the Roman Pontiff (Pope Boniface VIII, the Bull Unan Snactam, 1302). ? hehe
@rrgison Or rather, they will claim to be another Christ on earth, another God, then downplay the title saying "that's not what i meant". Pope Nicholas assumed the title of God. His words are:—‘I am all in all and above all, so that God Himself, and I, the Vicar of God, hath both one consistory, and I am able to do almost all that God can do . . . Wherefore, if those things that I do be said not to be done of man, but of God. WHAT CAN YOU MAKE ME BUT GOD? "
While true, the Catholics do not worship Statues, they still ritualistically kiss, kneel, & bow to it. While they do not pray to other gods, they do pray to the created things of God in heaven when God alone they ought to beseech, cry out to, & honor. Finally while they strongly disagree that they are working for their salvation, they know that they have to repent, give to the poor, & love each other to be approved (since Faith is not enough). See the essence of & the spirit of error?
@4everjesusrules LIAR!!! Show me in scripture where the sabbath was changed. I have seen in more than one place where the catholics claim to have changed it and that is NOT biblical
"LIAR"? That's a bold declaration of someone you don't even know. I sometimes feel ashamed of being an evangelical/protestant bc of some who are clearly just in it to win so there's no grace, love, respect, & compassion behind it.
So they come, bold as though they're Prophets of God, and ridicule Catholics, their church doctrine, and insult their Pope. If we're gaining no ground with the Catholics, this would be a reason why if not THE reason why.
@rrgison Yes LIAR may be bold but the truth hurts. Saying that Catholics follow the bible is a bold statement and a LIE. If you or anybody can show me in the bible where the sabbath was changed I will apologize.
You know if you're truly apologetoc, you wouldn't need me or anyone else to show you anything now would you? So even if I did show you an absolute scriptural proof, your apology is fake and insincere.
BTW, whoever changed the Sabbath died a looooooong time ago, so it's pretty silly of you to charge him of lying when he's not the originater but merely a subscriber.
@rrgison If you can show me scriptural truth in sunday my apology would be sincere but I will not apologize to you, I already said sorry to the person I was talking to, it was harsh and rude, they aren't liars they are mistaken because like you stated someone looonnnnngggg ago changed it, whether you think my apology is sincere or not does not matter to me and the sabbath issue is just the start. I could keep going but I have better thing to do than argue with you God Bless
@rrgison The true church isn't catholic or protestant. It doesn't have a mailing address or a zip code. It is the body of believers in Jesus Christ the world over. Christ has written their names in the book of life. Christ knows who His friends are.
Well great, I didn't need your apology anyways. What I care about that is that your apology directed towards them and according to your words, you did just that.
However, hearts don't turn on a dime much less change. You're either sorry because you've realized that you're in the wrong or not. Therefore, do you really think 1 can simply switch from insincerity to sincerity on an end result of a debate? Do you?
@SlapnutstunpalS What people fail to realize is that the JEWISH sabbath, instituted by God IS Saturday. The Lords' Day is separate and is Sunday. The two are different. You have to actually READ the Bible to learn this.
Sunday is our MARK of authority..... The church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact. Catholic Record, September 1, 1923
If Protestants would follow the Bible, they should worship God on the Sabbath Day(Saturday). In keeping the Sunday they are following a law of the Catholic Church. Albert Smith, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, replying for the Cardinal in a letter of February 10, 1920
@SlapnutstunpalS "The church is above the Bible, " What church? Remember that Christ made a NEW COVENANT, so true Christians are not required or obliged to follow the JEWISH sabbath.
@kiwichristian2009 That is a quote from catholics and i am just relaying it and I think it is obvious what "church" they are talking about and the Sabbath is not just for jews it is for all.
@kiwichristian2009 I am convinced the seventh-day Sabbath is just as Holy as it was on that first Sabbath at the end of creation week. Besides, where else did the seven day weekly cycle come from?
You may say OK, the Sabbath is the 7th day, but we are not under the law but under grace, so why worry about which day we worship God on? To that I say why would we do any of the commandments of God? I feel it is because of what Jesus said is the greatest commandment:
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment. How do we love with all our heart and soul and mind? If we truely love God we will do all we can to please Him.
So, we will have works if we have faith. Our work can be, and must be to some degree, verbal:
Matt 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. We are to confess or witness Christ to others. Are our "works" just verbal?
Matt 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
@Crazywoodman "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from youselves, it is the gift of God--NOT BY WORKS, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus TO DO GOOD WORKS, which God prepared in advance for us to do " (Eph. 2:8,9).
@johnthreesixteen316 Our works are a natural outcome of having a living faith. We don't work to show we have faith, but if we have faith we will have works. read James 2:26. Remember, we are not working our way to Heaven. Our work is a natural outcome of our faith and love for Jesus. We may not see the fruits of our labour, but God says if we have faith we will do His work. Here is a good example:
@Crazywoodman You should finish the whole thing.....takes on a different meaning then.....v14 "For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves."
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
@kiwichristian2009 Well according to my statement it is the RCC that claims to be above the bible and according to them Sunday is there mark of authority and as for the rest of your statement show me where it was changed from 10 to 9 commandments. It is funny because the way I understand it, it is the only one that says REMEMBER and for some reason everyone wants to forget the Sabbath
@SlapnutstunpalS Hello friend. Galatians 3:11 "But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith."
@SlapnutstunpalS Hello friend. Galatians 2:16 "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified."
@SlapnutstunpalS Hello friend. The church is not above the Bible. Nothing is above God's Word.....Matthew 24:35 "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." Deuteronomy 4:2 "
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you."
@johnthreesixteen316 I am just quoting catholics so if you think you have to correct someone correct them not me. If you read my comment I'm pretty sure I made it clear where it is from if you want to look it up yourself. If you want a good read then I suggest you pay a visit to reg6.com
@kiwichristian2009 You my friend are mistaken! See you say this like it is fact and people are stupid and don't read if they don't know this but the REAL TRUTH is that the bible does not teach this at all and that is why you didn't put anything to prove it and if you do. Please do tell what bible you use and where in the bible this is at and I will politely correct you on any errors you have
@kiwichristian2009 What people fail to realize is that the JEWISH sabbath, instituted by God IS Saturday. The Lords' Day is separate and is Sunday. The two are different. You have to actually READ the Bible to learn this.
@rrgison Answer his question. Show us where in the scriptures where the sabbath was changed to Sunday. Also, WHY did the catholic cult change it in the first place?
@4everjesusrules Rubbish. Catholics can believe in evolution, this is CONTRARY to what the Bible says. Catholics believe mary was sinless, this is CONTRARY to what the Bible says. the catholic organisation has a history of torturing and murdering MILLIONS of innocent Christians and people that did not agree with it, this is CONTRARY to the Bible. Catholics can steal up to $30 without confessing.this is CONTRARY to the Bible.Catholics believe mary remained a virgin. This is CONTRARY to the bible.
@williemetoyer23 You are wrong. In a major statement of the Roman Catholic Church's position on the theory of evolution, Pope John Paul II in 1996 proclaimed that the theory is 'more than just a hypothesis' and that evolution is "compatible with Christian faith." This is a statement on faith and morals.
I have to disagree. I don't think Traditions are a bad thing so long as it doesn't equal, contradict, & supercedes the authority of scripture. The Catholic Church has traditions that it can not biblically justify such as praying to Saints & Angels when Jesus alone already fulfills that role (1 Timothy 2:4, 1 John 1:9), use of Statues, & then a Priest along w/ rituals that only a priest can do when Jesus is that High Priest no other can fulfill. Salvation is what I most disagree with.
I think the authority is there, to bind and loose, whoever they meet. The keys we believe is the gospel, but I don't think the traditions I've mentioned can be biblically supported. While the practices of Judaism mirrors that of Catholicism in terms of purification, is it really relevant? And, are the prayers to saints and angels, truly supported in scripture w/out the use of the Deuterocannns?
DONT GO TO GOD FOR FORGIVENESS OF SINS COME TO ME.POPE JOHN PAUL 2-LOS ANGELES TIMES DECEMBER 1984.WHAT A BLASPHEMY! IT MAKES ME SICK. HOW PEOPLE CAN BE SO BLIND AND IGNORANTE OF THE HISTORY OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH.OR SHOULD I SAY MITRAISM CULT WORSHIP OF THE SUN AND PAGAN GODS.MARY THAT CATHOLICS WORSHIP IS ISIS FROM OLD BABYLON,AND NOT THE MOTHER OF JESUS THE CHRIST,YAHUSHUWA.
catholic church is the great whore of revelations.murders idolatras keep no commandments.satan rules the vatican with his secret societies.the pope is a pedophile on is way to helllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll with his little satan.
@necas00 Amen! "Archbishop Milingo is a good bishop and his contention that there are satanists in Rome is completely correct. Anybody who is acquainted with the state of affairs in the Vatican in the last 35 years is well aware that the prince of darkness has had and still has his surrogates in the court of St. Peter in Rome." - Malachi Martin. Ex Jesuit
The problem with scared tradtion is that if it isnt written down how do we know it happened. Otherwise I could make anything up and say " it scared tradition"
How else the the pope get away with selling indulgence went it clearly isnt in the bible.
Here's a URL of all the man made traditions of the Roman Catholic Church. 75% of rites in the Roman Catholic Church are from pagan origin, here's the URL:
@Z1GGYK3V are you really that ignorant? The rites of the RCC are written directly in the Bible and come from the Church Fathers. If you read the Book of Revelation, it is not entirely a book about then end of the word. It tells about divine worship and how we should worship. Through Scripture and Sacred Tradition, we have been practicing in the same rite as the early Church fathers. Plus, I don't think wailing about "Have you been saved" and rock bands in church is the true message of Jesus!
God is not religious. People are. God is open to all. Does that clarify things for you close-minded fools?

is not tradition MAN MADE???? so therefore it cannot be defined as the word of God... i will give you all a perfect example of how the catholic church does not follow the word of God... typically and need i say traditionally catholic baptisms occur during the infant/ toddler years... Jesus was baptised in his 30s... and rightfully so when one is able to understand and acquire the knowledge needed for communication , worship, prayer and righteousness.. it makes perfect sense to me....

TheJazuma 3 months ago
@TheJazuma and what are those doubts?
VicJohn2 3 months ago
@VicJohn2 The doubts that, even if you use logic that "traditions" are both oral and written that, you first need the oral tradition to exist before having that tradition written on paper/papyrus/parchment, etc. What I am saying is, that early Church Fathers were ordinary men with jobs, etc and they needed to live their own lives, they have their own problems. But when they had the spare time they would preach (preaching is oral), later they would consolidate their preaching by writing it down
TheJazuma 3 months ago
@TheJazuma i dont understand what that has to do with anything...i dont have those doubts just to let you know.

TheJazuma 3 months ago
@TheJazuma I dont see how there could be any tradition that was not written down..It was once a word of mouth yes..but then it was written down in what we have as the Bible. Even if its not written down it shouldnt be different from what the word of God (Bible) says. I dont understand how if the oral wasnt written down you could somehow think it is acceptable as truth, when there is written tradition that exists
VicJohn2 3 months ago
@VicJohn2 it's called the catechism, and they are written down. they are just not part of the gospel. the gospel is God's reaffirmed love for us. The other traditions like, how to baptize, abortion, contraception, etc are written in the catechism. Which btw, is one HUGE book.

Bluetew, your wrong Jesus doesn't interceed on our behalf he is a mediator see 1 Timothy 2:5. However in 1 Timothy 2:1 st Paul urges that we intercede for one another, which means you can use your brothers and sisters for that. The bible also says baptism now saves you.
punkyjunior895 8 months ago

YeshuaisYahweh1 1 year ago
Wake up, people.

JOAOBUNITAO 1 year ago
It comes down to this folks. We are talking about man made traditions well then... Martin Luther the founder of the "reformation" started this all. ONE man confused and stirred up a can of worms that has created scisms from the Catholic church from then on to the tune of 35,000 christian denominations (protestant) as we see today. Who btw don't agree on much let alone the road to salvation. This was started by ONE MAN... case closed bam!
safetyvlv 1 year ago
@safetyvlv Wow. 35,000? I heard it was 30,000. Which is true? Also, NO-ONE has ever been able to list them for me, so this is a complete lie, as is the catholic cult as a whole.
kiwichristian2009 1 year ago
@kiwichristian2009 Look hard enuf and you'll find them kiwi and you can find them on the internet I believe. Why do you call the Catholic faith a lie and a cult.
What do you base this information on. As I said, prior to the reformation there were no other Christian faiths, none.
We can trace our papel successors back to St Peter. Your belief is based on "Bible Alone" which was decided by Martin Luther. Don't believe me, look up the history of the Reformation.
safetyvlv 1 year ago
@safetyvlv You should always be able to back up things you say.You have failed to provide evidence. I call the catholic organisation a lie because it claims to be Christian, yet the organisations' teachings and doctrines are in COMPLETE OPPOSITION to the Word of God.It is a cult on so many levels. It has ruled with an iron fist and through fear for centuries. It is responsible for the torture and murder of MILLIONS. You can trace no such thing my friend, because the "rock" is Christ, not peter.
kiwichristian2009 1 year ago
@safetyvlv Kiwi what can I say, you believe in "Sola Scriptura". No such thing the bible doesn't teach it never has never will. Show me one passage that says " scripture alone "is the one source for interpreting the bible. You can't because it doesn't. What for that matter makes your interpretation of the bible more valid than someone elses? Why do you continue to avoid the Reformation and Martin Luther. Sorry kiwi I will pray for you.
safetyvlv 1 year ago
@safetyvlv Hello friend. The Bible implies 'sola scriptura' all over the place. If I write a story about my life playing baseball, the wins the losses etc. yet I don't actually say "I am a baseball player" in the story, does that mean I am not? Of course not. My baseball story would imply that I am one without actually saying it.
johnthreesixteen316 1 year ago
@johnthreesixteen316 John before I say anything else. Are you aware that the "sola scriptura" interpretation of the bible started 500 yrs ago by Martin Luther? Prior to that there was no such interpretation. Did you also know that ONE man Martin Luther removed 7 books from the bible and put them in the class of "apochraphyl" books in all protestant bibles? Did you also know from that point on Martin Luther and John Calvin caused an explosion of different christian faiths in the 30000+ mark?
safetyvlv 1 year ago
@safetyvlv Hello friend. Scripture implies 'sola scriptura' from the very beginning when the originals were written. The books of the apocrypha are not inspired by God. Did you know that the Roman Catholic church doesn't include some of those books too?
johnthreesixteen316 1 year ago

Why have you not commented on my statement about Martin Luther and the reformation?
safetyvlv 1 year ago
@safetyvlv Hello friend. It's all about a relationship, not a membership.
johnthreesixteen316 1 year ago
@johnthreesixteen316 John is it, really. I think not. The Catholic church has a papacy which it can trace back to Peter. There have been many twists and turns put on the original Greek text by so called "bible" scholars.
As far as Martin Luther goes , you ought to care. Because of his heresy there are people as yourself who in many ways manipulate scriptures to fit there cause. I highly doubt your experience with the greek text can counter the thousands of hours Catholic theologianshavestudied.

@johnthreesixteen316 It appears they were ultimately accepted at Trent, because without doing so, the Catholic Church had no scripture upon which to base the doctrine of purgatory, invocation and intercession of the saints, the worship of angels, the redemption of souls after death, etc. In fact, if you'll look at the Catholic Encyclopedia, you'll find discussion of "problems" or "errors" with most of the apocryphal books.
kiwichristian2009 1 year ago
@johnthreesixteen316 The Roman Catholic church teaches that Scripture AND Tradition together are the Church's supreme rule of faith. The Bible does not teach that! Scripture alone is the Church's rule of faith (Holy Bible: Mark 7:7-13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

However, what I see is catholics and protestants bashing each other over the head.
modomnoc1 1 year ago

The old testament warned us against this!!
KevinR242 1 year ago

? hehe
kiwichristian2009 1 year ago
@rrgison Or rather, they will claim to be another Christ on earth, another God, then downplay the title saying "that's not what i meant". Pope Nicholas assumed the title of God. His words are:—‘I am all in all and above all, so that God Himself, and I, the Vicar of God, hath both one consistory, and I am able to do almost all that God can do . . . Wherefore, if those things that I do be said not to be done of man, but of God. WHAT CAN YOU MAKE ME BUT GOD? "
kiwichristian2009 1 year ago

SlapnutstunpalS 1 year ago
@SlapnutstunpalS
If we're gaining no ground with the Catholics, this would be a reason why if not THE reason why.
rrgison 1 year ago
@rrgison Yes LIAR may be bold but the truth hurts. Saying that Catholics follow the bible is a bold statement and a LIE. If you or anybody can show me in the bible where the sabbath was changed I will apologize.
SlapnutstunpalS 1 year ago
@SlapnutstunpalS
You know if you're truly apologetoc, you wouldn't need me or anyone else to show you anything now would you? So even if I did show you an absolute scriptural proof, your apology is fake and insincere.
BTW, whoever changed the Sabbath died a looooooong time ago, so it's pretty silly of you to charge him of lying when he's not the originater but merely a subscriber.
rrgison 1 year ago
@rrgison If you can show me scriptural truth in sunday my apology would be sincere but I will not apologize to you, I already said sorry to the person I was talking to, it was harsh and rude, they aren't liars they are mistaken because like you stated someone looonnnnngggg ago changed it, whether you think my apology is sincere or not does not matter to me and the sabbath issue is just the start. I could keep going but I have better thing to do than argue with you God Bless
SlapnutstunpalS 1 year ago
@SlapnutstunpalS My mistake, someone TRIED to change the sabbath but the Sabbath has not nor ever will change
SlapnutstunpalS 1 year ago
@SlapnutstunpalS
BTW, what church are you from?
rrgison 1 year ago
@rrgison The true church isn't catholic or protestant. It doesn't have a mailing address or a zip code. It is the body of believers in Jesus Christ the world over. Christ has written their names in the book of life. Christ knows who His friends are.
kiwichristian2009 1 year ago
@SlapnutstunpalS

You have to actually READ the Bible to learn this.
kiwichristian2009 1 year ago
Sunday is our MARK of authority..... The church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact. Catholic Record, September 1, 1923
If Protestants would follow the Bible, they should worship God on the Sabbath Day(Saturday). In keeping the Sunday they are following a law of the Catholic Church. Albert Smith, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, replying for the Cardinal in a letter of February 10, 1920
SlapnutstunpalS 1 year ago
@SlapnutstunpalS "The church is above the Bible, " What church? Remember that Christ made a NEW COVENANT, so true Christians are not required or obliged to follow the JEWISH sabbath.
kiwichristian2009 1 year ago
@kiwichristian2009 That is a quote from catholics and i am just relaying it and I think it is obvious what "church" they are talking about and the Sabbath is not just for jews it is for all.
SlapnutstunpalS 1 year ago
@kiwichristian2009 I am convinced the seventh-day Sabbath is just as Holy as it was on that first Sabbath at the end of creation week. Besides, where else did the seven day weekly cycle come from?
You may say OK, the Sabbath is the 7th day, but we are not under the law but under grace, so why worry about which day we worship God on? To that I say why would we do any of the commandments of God? I feel it is because of what Jesus said is the greatest commandment:

Cont... Matt 22:37-38
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment. How do we love with all our heart and soul and mind? If we truely love God we will do all we can to please Him.
John 14:9,15
Jesus saith unto him,
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Our motivation in trying to obey the Ten Commandments is a love relationship with Jesus Christ, not to work our way to Heaven.

@Crazywoodman isn't "faith without works dead"?
safetyvlv 1 year ago
So, we will have works if we have faith. Our work can be, and must be to some degree, verbal:
Matt 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. We are to confess or witness Christ to others. Are our "works" just verbal?
Matt 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Crazywoodman 1 year ago
Cont...So what must we DO? Here are some texts that give counsel:
Heb 10:23-25
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven
John 14:23
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Hold on to our faith, love everyone, and meet together. So, if we just try to do this it should be enough, right?
Matt 7:14
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Luke 13:23-24
23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

1 We are rewarded for our works:

2 We must work. We must be "doers" not just "hearers".

We need to abide in Christ and we will bear fruit. How? Is just believing enough?
James 2:18-20
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
James 2:26
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Crazywoodman 1 year ago
@johnthreesixteen316 Our works are a natural outcome of having a living faith. We don't work to show we have faith, but if we have faith we will have works. read James 2:26. Remember, we are not working our way to Heaven. Our work is a natural outcome of our faith and love for Jesus. We may not see the fruits of our labour, but God says if we have faith we will do His work. Here is a good example:
Matt 25:32-46

I was answering someones question and you obviously didn't read all my posts! let me post how I start this study
We know that our salvation is a free gift:
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

James 1:22-25
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

@rrgison Yes we can verify it all,Furthermore read John 20:22-24

@4everjesusrules

@Z1GGYK3V are you really that ignorant? The rites of the RCC are written directly in the Bible and come from the Church Fathers. If you read the Book of Revelation, it is not entirely a book about then end of the word. It tells about divine worship and how we should worship. Through Scripture and Sacred Tradition, we have been practicing in the same rite as the early Church fathers. Plus, I don't think wailing about "Have you been saved" and rock bands in church is the true message of Jesus!
