This was my first interview, planned probably about 30 minutes or so prior to the actual interview. It was really hard and stressful to sit in front of a guy like him and come up with some good questions, so please bear with me... I'm just a fan who did his best to bring some stuff to the other fans out there :-)
Andy sounds like such a down to earth guy, it's really inspiring to see someone with such awesome skills who is so humble and willing to talk to the fans. Come to France Andy!!
takes an immense amount of talent to teach yourself stuff like that. i've taught myself most of the stuff i know on the guitar but i'm not nearly as good as Andy. You rock!!!
I'm not sure if I came across right, but I meant for my comment to be positive. For him to compose such a song is practically a miracle to me! What I'm trying to say, is; Andy's a genius, and I could only hope to write such illustrative pieces.
i didnt say everyone, and dream theatre is overrated, music is really boring, almost like that michale angel batio watever guy, petrucci is good as a guitarest though.
Woot! Nice to know that there's some similarity between me and Andy! :D
I started with the electric guitar myself, though I didn't take lessons for it. And then discovered Preston Reed, though it was on YouTube a couple of years ago, and then Michael Hedges and the rest.. And started learning how to play like this to a large extent on my own, though I use many tabs.
And I also mess around tunings the way he does, haha! And compose by feel, since I have no formal musical training. :)
Yea, I agree. Alcohol is a drug. I would totally love to have a brew with that guy. I also wanna tell him how awesome his music is when I'm baked, lol. (and of course when I'm not baked)
So when's hw doing an instructional DVD!, imagine that

i tought andy would talk with a very low voice kinda bassy, cuz in the vids he looks like a biker.
