  • Growing up in Batavia I've known a lot of people who worked there and been there many times. These days it is rather empty seeming largely because since 9/11 they've been stricter about security and such so visitors are pretty much limited to the first floor of the main building and the prairie reserve area. And as stated before the LHC makes fermi obsolete so most the sciency types aren't buzzing about anymore.

  • It's a pity that the only useful accelarators are the biggest ones, so all others others than the LHC are effectively obsolete.

    makes me sad T.T

  • That place looks like a Construct map from Garry's Mod...

  • That's some awesome architecture right there.

  • It's a shame that the place is so understaffed.

At least it's still up and running though

  • This place looks so empty... I'd even say almost abandoned.

  • america's 'war on science' means less of the federal budget can be afforded to pay for facilities like these! If this current administration didn't have the economy to deal with, it might not have stayed this way... Now, most of Fermi's operations are going to be carried out at the LHC, while the few remaining staff here try their damndest to prove they can still make breakthroughs.

  • Windy and crazy there. Look at how sneaky you are, you pepper shaker ninja 8)

  • mobius strip = mindfuck
