I think it is interesting that in less than forty years since 1972 the question has changed from "Could there be life out there?" to "How couldn't there be life out there?"
It's also interesting that in recent years the catholic church has recognised the possibility of life on other planets, contradicting the bible. If they were to take the bible as truth, then finding life elsewhere would eradicate all religions, as they all assert that earth is the only planet with life. For example, the Nazca lines nin Peru (which I have flown over ), this film claims the Nazca lines were ancient runways. YET NO PLANE COULD EVER LAND ON THEM WITHOUT BEING DESTROYED. They are not ancient runways. Some of these white lines are very small and you could walk along them in seconds The film does not make this clear.

There's a LOT of space 'dust' between 2 stars. Traveling from star A to star B would require very fast speeds, near the speed of light probably. Traveling at fast speeds means that you're going to hit space dust, and most likely destroy the craft you're traveling in. Therefore, it is unlikely that aliens have traveled to our star system. Interplanetary travel seems possible, but not interstellar travel.

@Gyro911 creditable has ever said that any of these things were built by ET's. However, there is a lot of evidence such as full depictions of spacecraft in ancient glyphs. Sculptures of spacesuits that predate what we thought was the start of homo-sapiens. All these things pose question and support ancient astronaut THEORY. @eslubin I believe the true history of this planet is unknown. Anything could have happened in the huge span of time. More advanced human civilizations could lived 2 billion years ago. Perhaps alien life does visit every once in a great while. All I know are numbers and physics, and without modern machinery, all these massive ancient structures would be impossible to build. Even today, they would be quite difficult, or impossible.

@Tamadrums66: I used to believe this, but i dont do it anymore. Because there are reasonable explanations to all the claims Erich Von Dänicken put forth in this documentary. Von Dänicken overinterperate over and over again. I do believe that we are not alone in the universe, but i dont think any intelligent alien race would have interacted with us when we were primitive... heck we are still primitive.
I just need much more proof before i will believe these claims again. A buried UFO or such

Today, some of the mysteries remain just as they were. However, many artifacts in this program have been thoroughly reexamined over the years with more plausible speculations. Some claims are outrightly spurious, such as the Fergana Cave drawings or the Iron Pillar of Delhi.

This film helped give rise to the UFO industry in the US.
The In Search Of TV show was actually born out of the concept behind this movie.
40 years on this movie is still interesting.

It's also interesting that in recent years the catholic church has recognised the possibility of life on other planets, contradicting the bible. If they were to take the bible as truth, then finding life elsewhere would eradicate all religions, as they all assert that earth is the only planet with life. Maybe the catholic church's turn-around is to ensure their grip on a large portion of the western world should life be found elsewhere. Just my theory anyway. Religious types need not reply.

For example, the Nazca lines nin Peru (which I have flown over ), this film claims the Nazca lines were ancient runways. YET NO PLANE COULD EVER LAND ON THEM WITHOUT BEING DESTROYED. They are not ancient runways. Some of these white lines are very small and you could walk along them in seconds The film does not make this clear.

Think about this one...
There's a LOT of space 'dust' between 2 stars. Traveling from star A to star B would require very fast speeds, near the speed of light probably. Traveling at fast speeds means that you're going to hit space dust, and most likely destroy the craft you're traveling in. Therefore, it is unlikely that aliens have traveled to our star system. Interplanetary travel seems possible, but not interstellar travel.
Who knows? Not I, that's for sure.
