I know you must receive lot of questions, but I'm desperate, and I don't know what to do... My Betta has been swimming irregularly for three days now, he can't stay straight, and he has been fighting so hard trying to do it... Today he stayed the entire day on the bottom of the aquarium, and didn't ate. I don't know where to search for safe information of what to do, but I think he won't last for too long if I don't get help...
It is very hard to help in this case from afar. Maybe the fish is very old: a natural from old age. Maybe an infection of the swim bladder or other. I´m afraid, it's pretty hopeless. Because the fish must come to the surface to breathe: Reduce water levels.

He lived alone in a 10l aquarium and had his own little house. I cleaned up the aquarium two times a month, and used a condicionator for the water. I have another living betta, so I will desinfect his bowl and the materials I used for both of them, just in case it was an illness.

Hi I am starting a petition and am trying to get as many people as possible to write letters to petco, petsmart, and pet supermarket. The way they keep the bettas is cruel, I hate going and looking at the bettas just spinning around or dead. And the tanks they sell for them are horrible. I am sure there are better ways to keep them. Please join me to keep bettas in better conditions. Bettas live in shallow water, but it's a big space were they can move around. Betta splendens males become aggressive when they get mature. They defend their territory against other fish, especially against other Betta splendens males! The territory is their individual place for building the bubblenest, for mating and for young-care.

I have 6 Siamese Fighting Fish. I've had my first one for a year and a half, my second two for 6 month, one for 2 months and 1 for a week (all in seperate tanks of course) and there all beautifull. truthfully please! what's the correct temperature to keep one safely? can i keep one in a well planted, clean plastic tank (you see them in the petshops) worth about 7 pounds? i'd have it here with me by my pc. i'd see it every day no problem and the halogen will be on thru the winter.
For keeping Betta splendens 25° C is OK, for breeding I would prefer 28° C. A well planted tank for breeding should have about 20 liters water, more is better of course. Good luck!

Yes! Your Betta tank should have enough hiding spots for the female at the bottom and even at the water surface! And the tank should not be too small! Betta splendens males treat their females much less roughly than do many other labyrinthfishes! And their aggressiveness depends on the size of the other fish. wow, really nice video. I have three betta splendens, one male, two female. I was surprised how small the females are, yer they are mature and ready for breeding. I have tried breeding them before, and im trying again. they are quite hard.

He might not like the food. most bettas dont like pellets or flakes.
try bloodworms or brine shrimp. No betta can resist that.

i prefer feeding them tubi, cheap and nutritious =x give them bloodworms( frozen ) don't give the dried ones

I have 6 Siamese Fighting Fish. I've had my first one for a year and a half, my second two for 6 month, one for 2 months and 1 for a week (all in seperate tanks of course) and there all beautifull. I've actually tamed my oldest one LOL, it can spin around in a circle when i show him twirling my finger. Cool fishes :)

i had a betta crowntail and it died cause of a mistake i made now i got 3 and i placed them in a small tank cause its harder to change the water with a big tank cause i had a big tank nowi gotta ask is betta good to live in a small tank? its not too small it's 5 gallons

u said they should be kept in a 60 L tanks minimum. Then i guess my betta is living in a palace then because i kept him in my swimming pool.

60 Litres is ridiculous for a single Betta. They are like 6cm fully grown. I think anything over 3 gallons is fine.

truthfully please! what's the correct temperature to keep one safely? can i keep one in a well planted, clean plastic tank (you see them in the petshops) worth about 7 pounds? i'd have it here with me by my pc. i'd see it every day no problem and the halogen will be on thru the winter.

For keeping Betta splendens 25° C is OK, for breeding I would prefer 28° C. A well planted tank for breeding should have about 20 liters water, more is better of course. Good luck!

I find that room temputure is usually good, avoid placing them near an AC or windowsill.

Of course! Thats the way to reproduce Bettas. But - be carful! Sometimes they have problems. Look at my youtube-video " Betta splendens - fighting and mating". I am sure. youll like it!

Yes! Your Betta tank should have enough hiding spots for the female at the bottom and even at the water surface! And the tank should not be too small! Betta splendens males treat their females much less roughly than do many other labyrinthfishes! And their aggressiveness depends on the size of the other fish. Again, watch my YouTube video Betta splendens - fighting and mating! Then You will see a femeale stronger then her male. They fight and she wins! I called her Emma Peel!

i have to this kind of fish and now i have 23 babies in the age of 6 months they want warm water because they are tropical fish (especialy the months with cold) i had a betta splenders for 5,4 years!!!!!

this is an awesome video. i won my fish at a carnival, and now i goty him a 20gallon aquarium which he shares with a cple of other fish he likes. they had babies, and i sold a cple of them. do u guys have any tips? i wanna feed him and her sonething other than bloodworms. plz suggest.

wow, really nice video. I have three betta splendens, one male, two female. I was surprised how small the females are, yer they are mature and ready for breeding. I have tried breeding them before, and im trying again. they are quite hard.
