I disagree with loudenvier. Jiu Jitsu, unlike many other submission wrestling styles, is based on tightness over finesse. The big Gracie names like Rickson and Roger have styles which emphasize tightness and inescapability. Flow training is a practice in finesse and lacks the element that makes Brazilian Jiu Jitsu the distinct and essential art that it is: tightness.
FYI, Telles looks like this when he rolls with blue and purple belts using their strength and resistance. It's as if he were surfing. He kind of moves like butter on hot corn.
Hi! It is not surprisingly that only higher-belt holders and good BJJers can do flow training. Why? Because it requires a lot of skill. Lower grades, even good blue belt holders can't hope to do flow training correctly. It exposes way too much flaws in their game, that started by basing positions on power/strength. Flow training is fundamental. I hate it because it is HARD to do! Just like people hate Judo's uchikomi, or defense-only randori, etc. Fundamental training methods IMHO.

why

Because finesse and speed are only a component of Jiu Jitsu. I find the game is completely destroyed without the facets of strength and resistance.
