The classic Bill and Joe T&J's are best by far, but this still beats much of the prosocial E/I and anime garbage on the market today. They should have ordered up some of these for the Filmation block on the former RetroTV.

Are we comparing apples and oranges here? Please consider this was the first version of Tom and Jerry specifically produced for TV... (the MGM and Gene Deitch shorts were theatrically released) and on top of that, for saturday mornings. Compare it with any other toon from that era and you'll see the similarity. Studios had to produce tons of material and meet horrendous deadlines (this earned Filmation the infamous title of "King of Limited Animation"), hence the low quality.

Oh good God, is this terrible. The animation's worse than the Gene Deith shorts (good God, did I just say that?), and this is just not the Tom and Jerry that I grew up with (Hanna Barbara, Chuck Jones). Thank God I never saw this and never will continue watching this.

I love this series, I watched it all the time when I was a kid (it was on every weekday after school). It frustrates the hell out of me that it no longer airs anywhere & that it's nearly impossible to find any of the eps in english. Almost all of what's online is the same portuguese rips. :(
