Taormina is great. The most touristy town on the island and the most expensive. The locals say "double bay, double pay!" A nice place to spend the day but I would hate to ever have to eat or sleep there again. Just up the road is Savoca, a better place to spend a day, visit Maria "the mother of the world" at Bar Vitelli of the Godfather movie fame, see the town Copolla used as his Corleone. Be careful Sicily is dangerous,you could fall in love with it and never want to leave and keep going back.
