i am a noob in the audiophile world sooo i dont really know much.. i have a pair of Klipsch x10s , and i would want alot more bass on it since its not really a bass headphone.(just to be able to use em for any genre of music would be nice)..and like most people, i do NOT want the bass to be distorted.. do yu recommend this amp for me since my player is a iPod shuffle( i know $350 IEMs w/ a $50 mp3 player is pretty stupid)
@ToxikJumper this amp? no.... i would recommend the E6..but i am a bit hesitant on how much it would actually improve teh overal sound. it would bassically be aying $30 for a bass and volume booster in your case...if you find that cheap. then go for it.
@TimpBizkit yes. with normal earphones and stuff. with an E5 or E6 now. it is about twice as loud. not recommend for earphones though as they are cheap. IEMs are a differnt story. The E5 and E6 is not recommended and not used to drive bigger more inneficent cans. the E11 is for that. and even then, the e11 only drives headphones(more or less) up to the Sub $390 range of full sized headphones. High Ohm (600 Ohm) Beyer's are out of the question for both the E11 and E6/E5
I think it would be better if it was a continuous press to turn it on and a small click to turn it off so it wouldn't stay on. Also will this drive the big inefficient 'cans' to a high level (i.e several times louder than the player)? The little earphones usually give more than enough volume for extended listening without an amp.
Hey do you think I'd have any problem using this on my PC? like can i have it plugged in and stay charged while I'm using it? I'll be using the e6 but I'm guessing it would be the same case, thanks.
@SheppardIE521 yes they would both work. however, i would then recommend the hifiman hm 101. it's an amp and DAC. it will amp your headphones and give you a new DAC for better sound($40) the E5/E6 is more for portable use, it could be used on the computer also but if you just want better computer audio. the HM101 will fit. if you want both. then the E6 it is(E6 doesn't have DAC, just amp)
@bowness006 well i already ordered the e6 and also need it for portability at times, but I will keep the other one in mind. And how exactly does a dac improve sound? may seem like a stupid question but isnt the audio already analog?
is the fiio e6 better?

@licandres01 yes, it has more EQ and sound optioins. and some minor sound updates on hissing and noise.

If 15mw is the old big ipods which did get loud, then 150mw will be like rock concert loud (sounds about 2x as loud on 10x power)
