In that episode Mari finds out that her twin sister Yuri (thought to have died in a plane crash when they were kids) was still alive, but in the end of the episode Yuri falls off a bridge (I think) and disappears. I think Yuri somehow survives, but Mari doesn't know that and assumes her long-lost sister to be dead (again). Thus the scream. =^p

Yeah. Ironically it was the first MMX game I ever played, even though it was one of the last ones made, and so far as I know, the last one in the timeline chronologically. I haven't played it in a while though. =^/ I think the last time I turned it on was to use the figurines in the Sky Room as a model while I drew a pictures and record music and sounds and stuff. I should probably play through it again one of these days.
