The drums, the guitars, the harmonica, the voice, everthing about this song is great. I thank God for making this possible. Thanks amenhop for putting the greatest song ever in rock and roll on Youtube.
Puuuuuuuuure ... sex. This is a song designed for an extended night of bump and grind for two people who know each other very well. And haven't been together for a Loooooong stretch.
I have the original Aftermath album and Going Home was the last song, 2nd side, 11 min 35 sec long...I used to listen to it in the dark as a teen, thought it to be the sexiest, longest song recorded at that time...hehehe...still love it!
the rolling stones have a lotta nerve. after ripping off muddy waters songs for their first few albums and not paying him anything for years they won't let "going home'" be played completely on you tube. May they gather moss real soon. r
What's that about part 1,its not ever been released??Well you're all wrong because it was released, and i've got it the origenal song is more than 9 min. This is an great song,i think everybody agree on this.Or maybe the real stones fans
Goin' Home great track I had the album many years ago but like a lot of things it grew legs and walked.....everytime I find this track on u.tube a few weeks later its gone......when you think its over 3:00 it comes back again ..great track pity its only part 2.
just heard for the first time...my gawd. this song is the essence of cool. 60's-earliest 80's Stones is just about all anyone could ever ask for from a single band.
Everything that is the essence Stones can be found in this predestined Midnight Rambler, Fingerprint File, Jaggeresques of the 70s gem. You can also hear ? & the M. (96 tears).
du grand stone!!!! goin' home 11 minutes de pur bonheur!!! ce qui était rare a l' époque(1966) magique, d 'ailleur c 'est le dernier album ou brian c 'est vraiment investi i' m goin' home......... a french dreamer
rox2death1-Manzarek is said to have sounded just like Morrison which I know is difficult to believe since Morrison was so unique.Mik sounds nothing like BBKing& Mik only sounds like Mik & I am so happy he is still around.Morrisons death was a great loss to the world.
Every song by the Stones is "brilliant". What happened to Part 1? you ask? Invest in purchasing the entire Aftermath and all their other music. Goin' Home is one of the most seductive verbally written songs created. But only the Stones and Mick could ever pull this song off.
actually I own in every RS vinyl and most CD's - (Aftermath in both) i have 'em ... ;))) Seen them in person ... yeah .... I've touched it a time or two. YT pulled part 1 - could not post it ... as mentioned ...
Is there a good reason they pulled part 1? I've seen them several times and I've been to over 368 concerts in my life, but they sound and perform better than any other I've seen. Close 2nd was Ten Years After and John Cougar Mellencamp.
there is way around wen utube pull your vids coz of youtube ....go to my favourites and about 3 or 4 vids back theres one that shows how u get ur sound back instantly...it worked for me!
@rox2death1 Sorry man, I 've still got it on vinyl, but my recordplayer is sort of in storage. While picking on my guitar I discovered its resemblance to Ventilator Blues. And wanted some quick service on You Tube.
I do agree, Aftermath "goin home" is brilliant, but every single song throughout decades are all brilliant. They are amazing from the 60's to this day. And if you want to hear part 1 of goin home, if your really amazed at the Stones, you should own it. "touch it one more time"
Best heard alone in the car or alone with that 'special' person BUT you gotta have the long version for the full effect of one of the Stones' more intimate songs. Thanks for posting.
frownstrong-They are both long songs & I have heard Jagger inspired Morrison, but Morrison was taught to sing byRay Manzarek & Ray sounded like Morrison & vicea versa. Both Mick & Jim were in touch with their feelings.I wonder if that encounter group Jim went to drunk helped him to express himself?
You heard that? All sources say that Brian Jones was the huge and main inspiration for Morrison. The End is something completly different from this. Probably Mick who saw Jim perform in LA after Brian had. Could also be Jagger inspired by the Velvet Underground, sounds a lot more like Velvet to me.
sakalan-O.K.Anyway,I knew Morrison, personally. One time he told me not to eat lettuce because he found out in an acid trip that it doesn"t do any good(important advice to give to a cocktail waitress-which I was at the time.)I just thought you might like to hear something humorous that he said.
frownstrong-What legend? The End is about the end of Jim"s relationship with a woman.Listen to the recording of"The End" & not the live performance on youtube & you can figure it out.
No,part 1 wasn't blocked,at least not for €urope ,I think.

The song that inspired The Doors to make their classic, The End. Also the last song on the album just like Goin' Home on the U.S. Aftermath.

Maybe your right stating Morrison was inspired by Ray Manzarek, but Jagger, who was a few years before Morrison, was inspired by BB King and R&B.
