@tulllguy the little munchkin also digs Shake the House Down & Gator Country. I'll raise him on serious music, and leave that Bieber shit to other kids.
@williamlbarberjr with a law degree you should know beating ass comes with repercussions , u had yer highs, u had yer lows, a washed up drunk that did too much blow , frisky man ur coks in yer hand too long now
OMG! This is great southern rock. It does not have great meaning and does not have to. Back in the day music was GOOD and that was enough. Get over yourselves, please and just enjoy the music.
Well, I believe Aerosmith came first with their releases, as far as playing music, it might be the other way, don't know. I have to say though, 2 different styles.
OK--so who came first--molly hatchet or aerosmith? it sounds like the same old song and dance to me. [plz no southern fried beer drinking hog ridin flash mob beating down my door]. just asking.
Back in the early 80s I spent a lot of time over at a friends house smoking weed, listening to Hatchet and staring at this album cover printed on a 4 x 6' silk tapestry hanging from his bedroom wall. Good times!
@sexydarin1 i have no idea wtf that means, but pork=yum! and spare the innuendo, a down-home pork roast is about as good as partying gets. just watch out for the gigantic mongrel tied up downhill.
@PumpingSmashkins Donny Baker is a member of the Pork Pistols. He's always talking about Molly Hatchet. He's a comedian with a southern accent. He's a regular on the Bob and Tom show.
I drove by myself from California to Michigan listening to this album. No I am not a trucker. They are such a good road band...driving to them is heaven. Big sky country is where to listen to this, one arm out the window.
@zag888 "Big Sky Country'? You mean Montana? That aside, do you mean you drove FROM California TO Michigan to hear the album? Surely you mean the band. Regardless, that would still not suffice as an excuse to drive from California to Michigan. Really, Cali to Michigone?
@zag888 Oh ... my apology. I misread your post. You were somehow compelled to drive from Cali to Michigan which totally explains why you needed some comfort ear candy. My bad. I'm glad that Molly Hatchet helped you survive the trip. I am not sure i would have made it.
The south is still churning out great guitar players. Warren Haynes, Jimmy Herring...Going on a southern cooking diet and see if it does anything for my guitar chops.
I'll bne seeing Molly Hatchett next month at the Rockpile that is going to be a amazing rock show. This is just my discovery of this band I'm starting to hear now. Great band great sound.
The local oldies station has a "Three At 3:00" game they play where you have to guess the link. Fridays are always dumbed down. Anyway. "Spill The Wine" by War. "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" by George Thorogood and "Whiskey Man" by Molly Hatchet!
when i went to basic training out mascot on the front of the barracks was the avenger on horseback i have wanted it tattooed on my chest since the first day i saw it and in 12 yrs i have been too broe to afford it
There was a time in my life in the early 80's where I Iived on a diet of Budweiser, Jim Beam, Marlboro Red 100's, Mexican food and Molly Hatchet.
I got to see them three times. The second time was at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas in '83 with Blackfoot. MH were on the No Guts...No Glory tour and Blackfoot were promoting their album SIOGO with Ken Hensley (formally of Uriah Heep)on the Hammond B-3. Nobody blew anyone else off of the stage, it was a Southern rock show to the fucking max!
saw hatchet in 1983 at charlotte nc probably one of the best shows I have ever seen. Had a tug of war with brown with a big rebel flag he later drapped over his shoulders during show
I agree. I saw them in 83 at the Tennessee Valley Fair. Caught both shows back to back for the cost of a $3.50 fair ticket. One of the best fucking shows I've ever seen 2nd to AC/DC.
I had this albun {just like everybody else did} and being young and dumb, tried to play the role of WHISKEY MAN. Didn't work out so well. I'm not so tuff these days. Allot of my old buddies are dead because they tried to be whiskey man too. Like the song days:"Whiskey man, don't you play that hand too long now". Truer words were never spoken. At least I still got one good kidney left........
youre right haha! i just stopped drinking whiskey cuz i couldn't remember. so i pretend the beer is whiskey, haha what a loser huh. im getting too old i guess.
@libsstink100 amusing when you consider that over 40% of the parts count of a harley is made in japan...nissin brakes for one. I'll stick to what WORKS...not some 80 y/o design that sucked ass then and still sucks. You want american? Ride an inidian
I did know danny joe brown his wife crystal they let him go because he was diabetic they hired a new guy , Phil mckormic that is the new molly hatchet singer
MH is awsome great songs brings back memories from H/S in the 70's I could listen to them all day.
