  • OMG! This is great southern rock. It does not have great meaning and does not have to. Back in the day music was GOOD and that was enough. Get over yourselves, please and just enjoy the music.

  • A Whiskey Man song for the real man!

  • Well, I believe Aerosmith came first with their releases, as far as playing music, it might be the other way, don't know. I have to say though, 2 different styles.

  • I drove by myself from California to Michigan listening to this album. No I am not a trucker. They are such a good road band...driving to them is heaven. Big sky country is where to listen to this, one arm out the window.

  • @zag888 montana is a great place to be

  • @zag888 "Big Sky Country'? You mean Montana? That aside, do you mean you drove FROM California TO Michigan to hear the album? Surely you mean the band. Regardless, that would still not suffice as an excuse to drive from California to Michigan. Really, Cali to Michigone?

  • @zag888 Oh ... my apology. I misread your post. You were somehow compelled to drive from Cali to Michigan which totally explains why you needed some comfort ear candy. My bad. I'm glad that Molly Hatchet helped you survive the trip. I am not sure i would have made it.

  • @zag888 Amen bro!! I remember many a road trips with my dad jamming to this album, and Van Halen 1.

  • @zag888 You're a trucker!

  • Southern rock is the only thing I like about America.......

  • dont play that hand too long

  • Love that harmonica!

  • Whose da Whiskey Man....... ME!! :P

  • LETT'S GET IT!!

  • This in no way sounds anything like any country music I've ever heard. Jeez...

  • @cm0220ster It's Southern Rock.Not country at all.

  • The south is still churning out great guitar players. Warren Haynes, Jimmy Herring...Going on a southern cooking diet and see if it does anything for my guitar chops.

  • Kick ass rock and roll. period.

  • good shit.

  • they are the best live

  • Country music? Nah... but now this shit kicks fucking ass!

  • Not a big fan of country, but I love some southern rock!

  • @Grudien1 me too, only that I hate country.

  • I'll bne seeing Molly Hatchett next month at the Rockpile that is going to be a amazing rock show. This is just my discovery of this band I'm starting to hear now. Great band great sound.

  • The album art was designed by Frank Frazetta who passed away on May 10, 2010. Long Live Frank!

  • holy shit that has to be the most epic kickass hardcore badass album cover i have ever seen in my life

  • play it all day long!!!! Not the song the hand!!!

  • Thanks Eric Purrington, hope you're doing well!!!

  • The local oldies station has a "Three At 3:00" game they play where you have to guess the link. Fridays are always dumbed down. Anyway. "Spill The Wine" by War. "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" by George Thorogood and "Whiskey Man" by Molly Hatchet!

  • Coolest band on earth man,

  • They still sound good today. They are still touring with Blackfoot too.

  • I was a teenage kid and saw them in 79. Very tight band back in the day.

  • hell i still do at 43 years old lol

  • There was a time in my life in the early 80's where I Iived on a diet of Budweiser, Jim Beam, Marlboro Red 100's, Mexican food and Molly Hatchet.

I got to see them three times. The second time was at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas in '83 with Blackfoot. MH were on the No Guts...No Glory tour and Blackfoot were promoting their album SIOGO with Ken Hensley (formally of Uriah Heep)on the Hammond B-3. Nobody blew anyone else off of the stage, it was a Southern rock show to the fucking max!

  • @randomandwelldone Ditto, "the good times are gone for good!"

  • rockin

  • Great album. This and the title track are probably my two fave hatchet songs. Killer guitar solo too.

  • Southern Rock...Take No Prisoners!

  • saw hatchet in 1983 at charlotte nc probably one of the best shows I have ever seen. Had a tug of war with brown with a big rebel flag he later drapped over his shoulders during show

  • I agree. I saw them in 83 at the Tennessee Valley Fair. Caught both shows back to back for the cost of a $3.50 fair ticket. One of the best fucking shows I've ever seen 2nd to AC/DC.

  • my first concert when i was 14 and i'm well in the 40's now

  • Young people listen the music, but HEAR papawx3 words!!! I too am dyin from all the partyin.

  • I had this albun {just like everybody else did} and being young and dumb, tried to play the role of WHISKEY MAN. Didn't work out so well. I'm not so tuff these days. Allot of my old buddies are dead because they tried to be whiskey man too. Like the song days:"Whiskey man, don't you play that hand too long now". Truer words were never spoken. At least I still got one good kidney left........

  • @papawx3 ur dum , its a song,, dont act like the tv or movies

  • straight up southern fried, beer drinking, tittie sucking, what the fuck you looking at rock and muthafukin roll!!! great shit.
