  • STUPIDITY OF HUMAN BEING WILL NEVER STOP GETTTIN HIGHER

  • Couldn't they tranquilize the wolves, put one of those invisilbe fence collars on them, to keep them away from human hunting areas, have a few towers to trigger the shock if they get too close

  • Why hunt wolves, you cannot eat them !?

  • "they chase them until they are exhausted and can't run no more.......and it is a brutal way to go"

isn't that how the wolf hunts only they start eating thier prey while it is still alive? Looks like Karma to me...no wolf deserves a quick easy death.

  • They're nice and all but there are too many in Alaska and they had to be taken care of. They populate much faster than the remaining species. It wasn't a secret and Sarah Palin's talked about it over and over again. This idea that people get off on doing it is insane. If that were true, they'd be doing it with the other species in Alaska. But they don't which leads most rational people to conclude that there are two sides here.

  • I'm sorry but the reason for most prey species lost now is because of the development that is now happening in AK especially with the Pipelines. It has been built onto breeding grounds of Caribou, Migratory paths are interrupted, and with the extra heat coming from industrialization it has melted much ice that has formed land for most prey species to travel. THIS and human hunting/ sport is what is causing the decline not wolves.. We say wolves because uneducated people have nothing to blame

  • @wongthegreat Huh? please show me where the pipeline has the melted the ice or permafrost as we call it up here. You do realize that the caribou herds where the pipeline run have increased drastically? Thirdly the issue with wolves deals with the low moose numbers in susbsistence zones. Once again more meddling from the lower 48....

  • What Most People Don't Realize Is. The Wolves Are Not To Blame For The Decrase In prey Numbers, It's The Human Hunters That Are. Wolves Take Only The Old, Weak Or Sick Of The Heard So The Strong Can Go On. Humans However See The Leader Of A Heard, And It's Usually The Strogest And Shoot Him For The Profit Of Having A Head On The Wall. Like Said In The Video, How Can You Say You're Going To Control The Number Of Something If You Have Nothing To Base It On. It's Pathetic And Un-Educated

  • @BFMVWolfess Wolves only take the old weak or sick in a heard. I learned that in school. I also believed that for a long time until I started getting out into the wild. Wolves usually go after moose or elk calves because they are easier to take down. They are equally skilled at killing young horse foals or any other domestic livestock they have an opportunity to kill. If hunger makes them brave enough they will kill a full grow bull moose or caribou but there preference is for the young.

  • Poor, uneducated public........Nothing against wolves, but humanity is the problem. As we expand into the wilds we reduce and upset habitat. The problem is better blamed on Alaska or someplace 'else' so you don't have to deal with the disruption of the balance of nature wherever you live. How much do you think you kill or has been killed or made extinct when you drive down that paved road, or eat food from that great big farm?

  • They say Obama is going to take wolves off the endangered animal's list too....

  • this isnt about collecting fur, or hunting, or money.... its about keeping a fair balance of wolfs and prey animals (moose & caribou)... look up Ak Dept of Fish & Game, click on predator control, you might actually learn something... There are NO grocery stores in bush AK, natives depend on moose & caribou to survive.. wolves can decimate moose populations in HUGE areas for years to come, hence..wolf control

  • This sickens me, the point of population contriol in predators is to a) keep the population of the predator healthy and b) to keep the prey populations from being depleted to much. If there really are too many wolves then both prey, wolves and other predators will suffer and so it makes sense to keep wolf numbers in check, however to hunt wolves so that there is more game for human hunters missing the point of convervation entirely it is grotesque and barbaric, and I am deeply ashamed of it.

  • Someone should decrease the profit of animal fur so that hunters would stop killing for easy money... These low-lives only waste their fuel and time on unfair hunts. This is just too spoiled and childish! >=P

  • Sure it such a short film with 9:58 god

  • Comment removed

  • there is nothing wrong with hunting but this is just wrong its not even fair. these people are not real hunters at all. i work on a ranch in wyoming and ive talked to our hunting guides and they hate this stuff.

  • Barbaric. "We need to make sure that science trumps greed." (Mike Frank, from the video) Amen, Mike.

  • Please will people stop hurting animals...how can you justify killing them;i mean;that gunner must feel so brave;shooting indiscriminately;the guy is right;its brutal

  • They must be the weakest people on earth because if i hunted wolves which i would never do i would go on the ground and look for them not be like oh im gonna be a fatso and look for them in a retarded plane like me Yay.all i have to say is you are wrong!!!!

  • how can hunters think they can get away with hunter wolves on airplanes..

  • treehuggers

  • youre pushing your luck. we are WOLFHUGGERS not treehuggers you dumb-a. and we wolves will not put up with this hunting. not anymore.

  • right on brother

  • Yes I've been hunting. but I'm for 1:1 game. this is simply not fair. and not even interesting.

  • i agree..i love hunting and i love the animals i hunt! i believe in fair chase, but the flying and shooting just disgusts me!

  • People say these creatures are monsters. Do they look like monsters, I don't think so. Their brilliant creatures. People are just frightened of things that can outsmart a human. But what they don't realize is we are sort of related to them. They live in family groups of mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters living together. They struggle to find food just as much as we do to buy food. We think our lives are tough. Well no normal city human would be able to survive like a wolf. Great Video!

  • omg, i'm gonna cry. i LOVE wolves! they're so beautiful! why do people want to kill them? they are completely innocent! they shouldn't be trophies when they're dead. it's when they're ALIVE that they're beautiful.

  • Lets see what the slow starving death of a wolf looks like when uncontrolled predation causes a population collapse. I'm sure that it's more humane because it's 'natural.'

  • Ecology - learn it.

  • hey, let it all alone and see how fast people will be asking for predator control. That part about shooting them with a 12 GA ehh might want to call myth busters on that one.

  • the only reason that wolves can be hunted is because the population is healthy enough to warrant a hunt. If the populations were so low wouldn't it be made illegal. I also feel that many of you live anywhere but alaska. Do you honestly think alaskans would allow an animal to be killed to the point of extinction.

  • i love wolfs more than eanthing nd you ppl in the airplane you are dumb bec i have a wolf tail nd its white SAVE THE WOLVES!!!!!! i went on strice bec of you guys nd i vored...... Y E S nd i hope more ppl do now

    S A V E T H E W O L V E S P L Z I i did cry when i hear that thy are doing that killing wolves

P L Z P L Z P L Z SAVE THE WOLVES ND IF YOU THINK I AM WRITE ABOUT SAVING THE WOLVES PLZ BE MY FRIEND

    JUST CLICK ON MY NAME

    ^^^^

  • You have a wolf tail that's white? Seems just a little curious...don't you think.

People are shedding tears over wolves but what about the moose and caribou calves that the wolves kill. Do they not deserve your love as well? I wonder...

  • Wolves hunt game, humans have as well. But wolves aren't natural prey.

Hunting moose and caribou is one thing, but this wolf hunting is just a violation of nature. The very fact that they need a plane to do it is just proof.

  • Defenders, I notice you wont let people post who disagree with your pro wolf stuff, like myself, 'A longtime Alaskan' who is actually in the most amazing healthy wolf pop in the world1 Fact! Like poster Ddubya77 said, you only post what you like to hear. That says alot about you! oh, ever notice how most people posting, are young, ignorant, and most have never even seen a wolf in the wild. Most of the older folks posting are lib tree huggers from cities! You are on the east coast big city!Ironic!

  • You won't let me post so who cares about your video

  • biased on what? if you read the subtitles, some of these guys ARE hunters, and even they say this is a cruel act. and, ive always wanted to know, what makes you feel so good about killing an animal that didn't even know you were there that it makes you wanna do it over and over again? i mean, you aren't even doing the killing yourself, it's the gun that's doing all the hard work.

  • have you fired a rifle? I have to believe you have not because if you had you would know that shooting a rifle is a skill that must be practiced and perfected. Let alone shooting out of a plane targeting a moving target.

  • God bless the wolves and the people who love and protect them

  • Alot of people here in Alaska rely on Moose meat. The moose population is in huge decline as is. Since 1994 the number of moose has dropped 194,000 animals. Moose are also a very popular tourist attraction. Not wolves. Why? Wolves are skittish, they don't hang around human involved areas like moose do. Not many people see them. I know many people who have lived here for 30 years and they have never seen a wolf. Don't be sucked into these lies of the wolf being purely innocent.

  • no creature in the world is innocent of everything. that doesn't give humans a reason to kill the wolves. and isn't it a good thing that the wolves aren't in your town? cuz that way you don't have cowards complaining to the government saying 'ah! help us help us! i saw a wolf yesterday! send down a guy with a gun and get rid of it!' and the moose population is only declining because of habitat loss and hunting. it's not the wolves' fault.

  • wolves are skittish because they are hunted so brutaly. they are innocent, they kill to live. Do you really think wolves should suffer like they are from aerial hunting?

  • Tell me, if there is some sort of shortage: why does the AKF&G supply hunting tags for moose by their thousand every year regardless of this?

  • Wolves are not good or evil.

Though you seem to perceive them to be evil Uglystik.

You aren't going to starve - Alaska isn't exactly as remote as people perceive it to be. So there are tourists, these are people who come to see -living- things not dead things with some bogan (Aussie slang just for you) smirking over their corpse. Restaurants in AK don't have a sign: "Sorry we won't offer you dinner tonight, grab a gun and do it yourself" do they?

  • wolfadvocate, there are alot of ppl who travel to Alaska to just hunt or fish. It is the only state in the U.S. that offers such a veriety of game as well as the only state the allows wolf hunting.

  • Its too bad none of you wolf advocates have any real evidence to support why we shouldn't hunt them. You all think they are just the sweet, loving animal. Like a big dog.

The wolves were taken off the endangered species list in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming because the number of breeding pairs is alot higher than they thought. This crap of their not being many wolves is bs.

  • yes it is bs, but that doesn't mean wolves should be hunted. if wolves go, then the moose population is gonna skyrocket. and because there wont be wolves to make them move around, they'll kill the vegetation population. it's a viscious cycle that'll happen right before our eyes while we try and stop it.

    is that what you want?

  • u should get a life. ha ha dork

  • It was never a human's duty to maintain wildlife population. That's nature's job. And if they are hunting wolves to "manage population" why give such a job to a citizen? To me and to a lot of people it seems those wolf hunters are doing it for fun. If wolves are overpopulating the least they can do is kill them humanely instead of having them suffer for their amusement. Don't say wolves should die because they're evil, you're just as evil as them when you say that. Leave the wolves alone.

  • I agree, wolves are a survior of the ice age. They have lived here with moose, deer, ect. for millions of years. And back then there were wolves in 48 states, and now people say there are to many when they are now only in a few states.

  • I agree!

  • politicans are being dumb. the wolves have few groups to hunt in and the food is scarace - not to forget that they are endangered.

  • Ugh, I hate this stupid idiotic wolf killing crap. I mean, there's very little reason to really even do it in the first place. It's just barbaric. Ridiculous.

  • I'll just bet you do troller....most of the 'hunters' I know all claim to LOVE to hunt - what they love is their trucks, unilimited beer/booze, few wives or girlfriends...then in to the trucks, round up and trap the animals then shoot them with high powered rifles. Ususally they like to get this done on day one so they can drink and hang out the rest of the time. Hunter - ha don't make me laugh!

  • Actually, AKjosh1986 - i AM from the Yukon (that little chunk of Canada right beside you), spent over 18 years there, and i am quiet familiar with the ecology and cycles up north. Wolf culls are RARELY necessary, (in fact, only when they infringe into towns and a riskto public) only in fact most of the time its a drummed up load of crap. Nature controls itself, very well actually, its usually man that screws up nature royally. for the record, i do hunt - but not wolf, i only hunt for sustinence.

  • Wolves have no season in Canada and can be killed any day of the year using whatever means available. Alberta initiated a cull this year with specific targets being pregnant females and pups.

  • what is going to happen if the wolves go extinct!we willl all be over run with animals.

    save the wolves

  • charliepacefan! Why dont you mention that wolves were recently taken off the endangered species list? ignorant ass! Truth hurts, dont it? AGAIN!!!

  • They were taken off the endangered list with little public comment because of pressure from ranchers in Montana, Idaho, Alaska, etc. Ranchers claimed huge losses of their cattle - 26 killed in Montana in 2007-wow that is a HUGE loss (not). Cattle and sheep range on PUBLIC land and the wolf has lost almost ALL of its range to human intervention. There are not that many breeding pairs in the 8 states delisted. This planet should just kick us all off for our complete disregard....

  • As a resident of Alaska I say we need to kill many more wolves for population control purposes. I would love to shoot a wolf myself but they are extremely hard to find and kill if you are hunting from the ground. For everyone that is not a resident of Alaska should have no say in what happens in my State. I don't come to your state and tell you what to do. Leave us alone.

  • why do you wanna kill a pruhsrs cute adorabol wolf? akjosh1986?

  • Sure - waste $14 000 on killing something that is integral to the ecosystem with the authorisation of a governor who has ignored the numerous pubic statements to ban the activity, go against basic ecological laws and simultaneously ruin your state's reputation whilst also forcing out its main source of income.

  • Nice video, but did you ever consider the damage that wolves cause to game herds? What about the people who depend upon guiding for their livihoods? Much less the businesses they support? Keep pretending, people, that you don't live in a modern world. Do any of you work for a living? Or all just hippies living off the rest of us? GET A JOB.

  • We can save the wolves by boycotting beef, boycotting tourism to Alaska,Montana,Idaho, and Wyoming, and supporting the wildlife groups, aswell as writing to our elected officials telling them that we want wolf hunting and trapping banned outright along with any kind of trophy hunting!

  • Whilst boycotts are a somewhat effective measure of getting a message across it is wise to understand what to boycott. In regards to livestock related industries, there are now tags on items proclaiming that the farm is 'predator friendly'. So boycott the produce that is not made by predator friendly suppliers and promote the ones that are.

  • thewolfwannabee! Good, you boycott Alaska! Thats one less ignorant environmental whackoe libtard we have to deal with up here! Stay down south! You ignorant ass! And by the way, you live where? And howmany wolves you have? Howabout wilderness? You live in a city? Simple questions! I can answer with no problem! Howabout your wolfwannabee fake ass???

  • OnlyoneAK

You have been reported for user stalking and abuse.

  • What I really think is sad is how much money is wasted on useless self-centred pass times rather than helping the starving and needy people of the world. No money really needs to be spent on wildlife at all, just the act of leaving them alone will suffice. People get to watch wolves acting naturally and wolf don't get hurt. More people like watching wildlife than killing it. And that is a fact.

Both ethically and biologically speaking: "A live wolf is more valuable than a dead one."

  • I think the people of alaska should be giving the only wildlife left on most of america some space. Hunting is bad. Here in england, most of hunting is banned. I think that should apply for EVERYWHERE. We have plenty to eat. Why be so greedy and kill wolves? You dont want to eat them or preserve their skins for anything constructive, so leave them alone.

  • Truth.

  • crimmycakes! You said it all! You have no wildlife, wilderness, cant even own a gun,etc... I live in awesome Alaska, this wolf control program is happening in only five game management units in this state! We have the highest pop of wolf,Moose,Caribou,Brown Bear, Grizzly Bear, Black Bear,Polar Bear in the world! Guess why??? Because our state has managed things well up here! What dont you get???

  • "A mountain with a wolf on it stands just a little taller"

  • AROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Go wolves!

  • when people say the wolves kill for sport they say they didn't eat it. well i ask you were there bones showing the wolf ate some of the animal it killed just a bite or two but ate it.

  • There is absolutely no historical record of wolves harming or attacking humans. In the lower 48 states, wolves are just starting to make a comeback.

  • looks fun

  • Has anyone ever been in a helichopter ride to fly over wolves and shoot them? Where can I sign up?

  • old time Eskimo hunters would kill cubs to control wolf population.

  • Ok.....This is simple lets put up a video of wolves starving to death. And lets show them coming into peoples yards killing their dogs and attacking people in the villages. When there is not enough game they WILL intrude. I suppose we can wait till that happens and then shoot them, that would be more reasonable. I guess.

  • hooow do you think these wolves are starving? is it maybe becouse human kill their prey? Indeed.

  • Whether you're for or against the wolf, what person who has any compassion at all can watch this video and not feel SOMETHING for the wolf. If you don't you're heartless. It's not sport, it's not humane - it's simply barbaric.

  • i agree 100%

  • You took the words out of my mouth.

  • i love wolves there my favourite animal go wolves

  • I don't care how the wolfs get killed so long as they get killed! I hate the wolfs, they have ruined so many farmers livelihood by killing their cattle, sheep, dogs and what so ever. And when the natural preys are gone they start to study us for to see if we are tasty. In zoo's the animal keeper have watch out. Don't show any signs of weakness or you get attacked! If you see a curios wolf who study you in the wilderness, they study you for to see if you are a possible pray for the next meal!

  • You've definitely been adversely affected by the Big Bad Wolf stories read to you in your early days!

  • he's probably a rancher you dolt

  • A dead wolf is a good wolf no mather how they get killed so long as they get killed.

  • save the wolves quit the murdering

  • Defenders of wildlife! You pretty much show how fake you are as an organization, when you "screen posting", pending your approval, weather they are seen! Says alot about you! Oh and kiss my Alaskan ass! Where we actually have the healthiest pop in the world! "pending approval that fact"!!!!!!!!!!

  • As a lifelong trapper, I have personally seen the effects of too many wolves. Dead moose litter the woods as a result. Aerial hunting is a great way to manage them. If there are too many wolves you won't have any deer, caribou moose elk, etc. they cannot be allowed to just rampage the area. As soon as they take all the deer and other animals they will come after your pets and livestock. You won't be so happpy about em then eh?

  • Well put.

  • Heres the deal. They kill everything that comes in their path. Don't argue with me I'm a big time trapper and have found tons of wolf killed moose everywhere. And if you want moose or deer or caribou to see you have to limit the wolves. Otherwise you won't have any animals to hunt, photograph or even study because the wolves will decimate them. Wolvehunter2, i agree with you all the way. Im glad Idaho is allowed to hunt wolves. Arieal hunts are the only way to manage wolves.

  • destroy the wolves, and who will get pictures of them. they are beautiful creatures. Managing animal populations is natures job. Humans need to stop interfering and figure out what they are doing to the environment that is altering that. btw, an over population of hoofed animals is more distructive than wolves.

  • *yawn* If what you say is true... Mr lifelong trapper. The wolves and their prey would have gone extinct long before your kind arrived.

  • You are right, WolfAdvacate. I studied wolves for three years and they are just like us and there is NO REASON WHATSOEVER to hunt with airplains. We need to at least give the hunted a chance!

  • To all of you, if you are so touchy feely about wolves and them being "Natures Predator" why not having a temper tantrum over killing mountain lions and bears. I'll tell you why, because your estrogen level (the female hormone for those of you who don't know) has overran your body and the emotions haven't let you post anything with a shred of inteligience. Just emotional save the wolves propoganda. I can't wait to fill my tag hear in Idaho. Stay in your cities and let us handle it.

  • You can't spell.

Propaganda is made of slanderous remarks aimed at a particular party or individual stating a false quote or personal opinion. This is not propaganda. Allow me to demonstrate a line of propaganda: Helen Franklin, speaker (Idaho Anti-Wolf Coalition.) "They [USFWS] are lying about the wolf count, saying that there's 230."

  • Here's another fact Alaska does not want to reveal to its global neighbours, wolves (as well as other predators) are baited, trapped and shot in National Parks as well! The state's tourism industry says NOTHING about what is happening and tries to conceal the world about what the state is doing.

  • wolfadvocate! You summed it up! you live in Australia, have no wolves, and your ass tries to say how we are managing the "healthiest wolf pop in the world"! Its called ALASKA!!! Dispute that one!!!

  • wolves were in alasky way before people, its thier land.

  • I wish there was something I could do. But I live in Scotland. I cant influence Alaskan politics in anyway. Makes me feel very useless. >_>

  • your not useless every word has to count.

  • Here this, the citzens of Alaska (aka the guys without the guns) voted against the hunting of predators. PERIOD. Three times, did the governor listen? NO. Some diplomatic state...

  • wolfwannabee! you said it all! your ass lives in Australia! You have no wolves! We here in Alaska, have plenty! Want tom talk more shit??? Us Alaskans will make your ignorant ass, look stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Terrible. Alaska sucks. Wolves are beautiful and

very lovely animal. People can´t do that.

    Horrible!!!

  • Special intrest always over rules welcome to "america"

  • it is are fault the wolves were here first and so were indians and what did settlers do kill them all of and they didn't even care they think they rule the world they don't!!!

Anyone who hunts will probobly go to hell!!!!!

Humans killed the wolves food and cut down their trees so the wolves have to go into towns to find food or they will die so anyone who hates wolves SHUT UP you don't know much either ya i would be mad if my dog was killed but its are fault!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think hunting over populated animals, such as white-tailed deer is fine, as long as you eat what you kill, and only kill two a year, and a clean kill. Not wolves, they don't cause car accidents.

  • i think it good kill all

  • Why dont you try giving natures predators respect and leave them be. Seriously, instead of killing these creatures, maybe you oughta recognize the fact that we gotta share this world with them.

  • markslord! The difference is you live down south, those of us up here in Alaska actually know whats going on! You all go on emotion1 Our fish and game goes on facts! This wolf control hunt is only in a "few areas statewide"! We have the healthiest wolf pop in North America up here! Why dont you be more concerned about places where they are almost gone! Think about that one! Watch, now that I have said how it really is, defendersofwildlife will block this! Truth hurts, dont it????????????????????

  • OnlyoneAK the problem with you is that you don't understand what a wolf is, what it does, how it acts, its hunting strategy, its whelping patterns or anything about wolf ecology, biology or any other science that is crucial for debating matters such as this. You are the ignorant one, so please enough of the stuck up attitude and eat some humble pie for a change. Either that or would it be better to call you a mindless sheep?

  • wolfadvocate! Your post name says it all! Go figure someone from the lower 48, where you have few wolves, telling a longtime Alaskan how things are up here with wolves! Your ignorant! And your crap about killing wolves in our National Parks is bull! You cant even carry a gun into our National parks up here! Dont try to spew bull to an Alaskan about Alaska! We will make you look stupid, real fast! And where is this poaching happen up here? Carefull what you say! You ever been up here? No??????????

  • you have the right to say this. you are talking based on what you see. but dont call people from the south idiots. its a true fact, that wolves once inhabited most of america. guess what happened to them. well us "southerners" are only angry because we cant just come up everyday and see these animals. to us, wolves are a symbol of freedom and beauty and because they are being erradicated, we will never see them at this rate.

  • Good you can go and see the wolves, we just don't want them in our city attacking our people, kids in general. You think we kill them cause they are "evil" no, that is an idiotic assumption. We kill them cause they are over populated. So when the scenario comes up and you have to defend yourself against mulitple wolves...good luck, cause your already dead.

  • Then dont try to populate their areas then no prob selfish idiots

  • Defenders of wildlife! I notice you block the ones you dont want to here, "real facts from"! Simple, Google "wolves killing dogs in Alaska", and also google, "wolf attacks child in Yakutat Alaska"! Dont even try the same old line that its our fault! Do you people posting here own a dog? Do you walk them on leashes, like a responsable pet owner does? We are doing this up here ,and "healthy", not rabid wolves are taking our dogs right off of leashes, while "people are walking them! Our sled dogs also

  • People need to realize what they're doing and stop!! This is ridiculous! Why would anyone want to torture such a beautiful animal?! :(

  • First of all to Randii420 "on the brink of distinction" come on man if you are gonna call someone ignorant you better pratice your phrases. This video is almost the exact same thing that Disney made 30-40 years ago and aired it on their tv show. Then it shooting coyotes in montana, nobody made a big deal then. My guess is that the better part of you have never been hunting or left the city and have no idea that a very high percentage of the cost of a hunting lisecenes goes to conservation

  • Theres no point to hunting wolves at all.

These people need to realize that whenever they do something to one species, they effect another. Here in Wisconsin they are always bitching about the deer population and encouraging people to hunt deer. If people didnt destroy habitats and hunt animals here, the predators who hunt deer would have more around, causing the population to stabilize. But nooo, they have to be idiots and keep stealing animals homes.

  • I have a real soft spot in my heart for wolves & this a nice video by Defenders. I've given them several financial contributions over the years to try & stop these cruel & barbaric acts & I aplaud them for getting the message out. It's too bad that more people don't know about the brutality that's going on up there cuz if they did, this ignorant & immoral behavior on the part of the the Alaskan gov't & these cowardly hunters would probably come to an end. Please help us get thew word out.

  • TWICE the voter's shot down the aerial hunt through a public vote with a wide margin to stop this horrible autrocity. NRA, sport hunters, trappers and other influential people keep this sore open, with their money, obnoxious mouths and idiot agenda's (oops, apologies to idiots, these guys are actually on a much lower peg) YOU can articulate your distaste directly to our pretty as a princess governor 'Sarah Palin' who has also gone along w/ the sad agenda of the sporthunters. This is so very sad.

  • aerial hunting of wolves is a violation of pubic trust. I have worked as a biolgist for 25 years, 5 years in AK. This is stupid. for so many reasons. come on guys, AK biologists should be setting the standard for the rest of the world. Stand up!

  • that is extremely idiotic, bears don't even hunt much for their food, they mostly eat small animals or scavenge

and like the woman said wolves get together and bring down a large meal, and they always go for the weak and injured ones, once every one or two weeks and then they share it

killing endangered animals like this is an atrocity, and it won't help the moose caribou population drastically and alaska probably knows that but they're still doing it

  • I love wolves and bears.

Do you see who is the BEAST?

    PLEASE,help animals

  • one thing i find really funny is all the ppl being interviewd are from kenai peninsula fairbanks or anchorage lol get some of the fool city ppl who have never even seen a wolf to act like they know something.

  • How many wolves has the govt shot in alaska? What happens to the wolves that the govt shoots? o thats right they leave them lay on the snow to rot or bury or burn them. Might as well let sport hunters shoot them and atleast bring money into the state and use the hide of the wolf instead of leaving them lay on the snow.

  • Wow talk about a one sided point of view. I didnt see any AK F&G biologist comments on the wolf control program??? Not to mention that some of the clips in this video were taken out of context. I'm an avid outdoorsman and have lived from coast to coast. I have not been to a state that manages thier wildlife better than Alaska. BOTTOM LINE: Dont be closed minded on this topic every group has an agenda.

  • The inconvenient truth about wolves. Here is a study that recommends aggressive wolf control to save woodland caribou from extinction.

Bergerud, Arthur T. The Need for the Management of Wolves--An Open Letter. 2007. Rangifer, Special Issue No. 17, 2007: The Eleventh North American Caribou Workshop, Jasper, Alberta, Canada, 24-27 April, 2006.

But But But wolves are perfect and never ruined the eco system. The truth and scientific facts come out again.

  • Yeah right, Like the shooting of 125 wolves each year from the air while they are 10,000 strong in Alaska is going to hurt anything! LOL, Mange kills more wolves than the culling from the air. Emotions won't get you anywhere in the world.

  • Ok,it's pretty ugly. But if you are actually subscribing to this trail of lies, open your eyes. This is NOT hunting. This is predator control (EVERY state manages predators). Did you see any roads? NO, there are none. That's why they use planes. You know wolves pack up in groups, run down other animals, pick out the weak, and run it to exhaustion. They then begin to eat the animal while it is still alive. If this animal is so wonderful, why have so many states passed laws to ban reintroduction?

  • Now, let's picture the world WITHOUT hunting and every animal has a good number. THE NUMBER OF ANIMALS WOULDN'T GET LARGE. Bears would eat the deers and so do wolves. THATS WHY WE HAVE SO MANY DEERS. Well we did anyways.

  • I think ALL hunting should be banned. Yes I always get told "Then the deer and such get to much!" When the human race first came to the planet Earth, did they get trampled on by a billion animals? No. Only because Mother Nature took care of that. Like Wolves and Deers. The wolves eat the deers. Without wolves deers would have became to large. Now that 'hunting' has been made a sport wolves are endangered, and a lot of other animals.

  • Before you comment on a topic, "fully" educate on the topic before you comment. Wolves are over populated in many areas, in which all these areas other game, such as the dall sheep, moose, and caribou herds, are getting crushed by the wolves. Lets "control" the wolf population so that the prey species of wolves can also thrive. The Dall sheep, moose, and caribou herds, have decreased dramatically the last five years even though the winters have become less harsh. Wondering why? Wolves.

  • Wow. I think I'm gonna cry. Alaska's Governer is so ignorant. Can't he see what he's doing to his own wildlife?

  • Fast Forward to 9:00 and tell me if you still think the moose population is suffering...

  • I owned a wolf. They are amazing creatures, however, I believe it's illegal to own one (oops). No one should hunt them...

  • The reason is cuz it's so damn cold there, and thus, there are less chances of finding a city. And by the way... you ppl think u r managing the pop. of wolves to mimic a natural order. But how, i ask u, did the wolves grow to such a high pop.? NATURALY! They didnt get that way from humans medling, so your not really mimicing it at all! You r hurting the natural order by cutting the pop. in half.

  • I think we should ban hunting PERIOD. I'm an animal lover especially wolves & I think that the fact of hunting is basically animal cruelty... sort of.

  • I think it should be the law that you can only hunt wearing a loincloth, and with a knife or pointy stick. That'd even the playing-field.

  • To me, shooting a wolf is like shooting your own pet dog, and I dont think there meat is even eaten they probly shoot them sale there fure or stuff them and hang there heads on a wall for a trofy.

  • Aerial hunting isn't hunting. It's slaughter.

  • Wölfe sind Wunderbar!!

  • Wölfe sind Wundervolle Tiere lasst Sie leben!

  • onlyoneak, the biggest population of wolves in in Russia. And it's not because they (or you) managed it well. Wolves are doing the best where there is the least number of people, pure and simple. And the "don't tell us what to do in Alaska" argument is antiquated. It doesn't belong to you and it never did. We all have a stake.

  • i mean does

  • If humans are such inteligent people then why? why kill the wolves? our dogs cams from them! they take care of so much they kill to live BUT humans kill for fun no witch is worse? Why do people say murdering is bad? do humans think that wolves dont ave feeling?do they think they dont feel pain? that they dont have familys? WRONG! just because something cant speak and say PLEASE DONT KILL ME doesnt mean you should. thats why us people with hearts have to.

  • I have seen this type of video before. It is never gets any better. It makes me physicaly sick. This is disgusting. This kind of hunting is wrong. There is no sport involved, there is no place for the wolves to hide or to escape. If you are going to hunt aleast make it a fair hunt. Give the wolf a chance to save its life.

  • Shame on anyone who supports the killing of wolves - from the air or on the ground - we used to have wolves here in the UK - the last one was shot and killed in 1953 - SHAME ON US ! Why does the human race always wait until it is too late to condem a slaughter - let's stop the killing NOW and keep safe these precious animals

  • This is the sickest way to kill wolves. People need to understand that there are not an ulimated supply of wolves and that when they're gone they're gone. And increasing deer and caribue is not good! Just becuase you want to hunt for fun is no excuse to kill wolves, especailly in this sort or manner. You'd have to be a real Jackas to do areial hunting, a biug son of a bitch. And if wolves go estinct we'll only have our selves to blame.

  • The Alaskan wolf slaughter is a textbook case of wildlife mismanagement. I would say shame on the killers, but shame requires some perception of honor and dignity. These cowardly killers don't know the meaning of honor and dignity, and they are thus as shameless as they are repulsive.

  • "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated" Mahatma Gandhi

I pray for you state of being. You probably live in darkness, shame, and selfishness.

  • The land in discussion is public not private and is still a part of the US. This is not wildlife management it is a select few hunters wanting the easiest route to kill wolves for sport and pelts. The pelts by the way sell from $1,000.00++ EACH and found online. The people involved here are NOT wildlife managers, but hunters who want there own way and want it as EASY as possible.

  • Manipulating wildlife populations for the benefit of a handful of people, people who feel so inadequate in themselves that they have to kill to feel validated, is so inherently wrong, it's ridiculous that it's even an issue.

Legislaters need to stop and think about the dangers of trying to outthink nature's structure. That's one system that does work. We need to leave it alone. Haven't we learned by now that our actions have a significant impact? Are they just plain stupid?

  • This makes me so ashamed to even BE human. People are NOT the most intelligent species. There is proof everywhere you look, including this video. To think that humans are needed to control anything having to do with nature is ridiculous and ignorant. There should be MUCH stronger punishments for this type of torture and senseless killing NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE.

  • My understanding of the natural way of things is that keystone species, predators like wolves, or grizzlies, help keep the caribou, deer, moose population healthy and balanced, that actually by allowing Wolves to do the job that is naturally designed for them you will in fact have a larger, healthier population of ungulates, due to the culling of the diseased and weak. to claim they are killing wolves to make more game for humans is decietful.

  • this doesn't give the animal any chance, it's absolutely disgusting.

  • onlyoneak, alaska doesn't have the highest wolf population in the world. better stop running your mouth and doing some reading. Canada has more wolves than us by quite a fair number.

  • When the wolves are gone you'll see how you tourism drops. Wolves are apart of the wilderness, people pay to see them in your state because they may not see them in their own state.

You had better thank the wolves rather than support senseless slaughter of them - I don't think anyone would willingly pay to see a dead wolf.

  • i totally agree with this video, the aeriel hunting of wolves should be stopped.for many years now i have been a supporter of wildlife, there is a saying that i believe to true to the last letter.if you talk to the animals, they will talk to you and you will know each other,if you do not talk to them, you will not know them, and what you do not know, you will fear, and what one fears, one destroys.

  • This PISS's ME OFF beyond belief.

  • I personally love wildlife, and I also hunt. I don't find it very sporting nor fair to do aerial hunting on wolves, however. However, I am doubtful that wolf populations will have any troubles from aerial hunting, as wolves are not endangered or in short supply in Alaska. They would be nearly as common as a coyote in the continental United States.

  • Alright, Maybe instead of takeing life.. why not create it. Breeed caribu and moose in captivity, then let them free. If you wipe out or "controll preditior" then yes there will eb a sike in the prey animals population. But that spike will be short lived, when that spike happens then the prey's food grass and other greenery will be depleated, thus they will die off for lack of food. That is how nature levels itself out. There are a different ways fo going about this and this is not it.

  • Check this video out. Wolves attack dogs

Wolves are killing dogs in three cities in Alaska. Anchorage, Fairbanks and Marshal. The people of Alaska are getting fed up with these predators. While you are defending the wolves we will be defending are Families.

  • Everyone needs to watch this video, thanks for posting it, Save the wolves!
