  • I adore this piece... and the entire work... but this intermezzo is always with me playing in my heart. Just beautiful.

  • Like if you are here for Kaoru and Kenshin farewell in Rurouni Kenshin Anime.

    Heavenly Music.

  • i love this song in the movie the godfather part 3 at the end it is soo sad and soo soo beautiful too i love it :"D

  • only complaint-NOT LONG ENOUGH. The angels whispered this in his ear.

  • im playing this in my orchestra

  • Absolutely beautiful, so lovely it make me cry everytime.

  • Nice images too!

    Thanks.

  • To Hell with movies...Listen to this for it's own sake..It rips your heart out..Staggeringly beautiful

  • The end of the Godfather Part III just reminds me of a better movie: Raging Bull.

  • ho my god!! i like music ! i like " THE GODLATHER"

    Very Emotion

  • the raging bull!

  • Truly fabulous music, indeed.

  • 5 dislikes must have been bumped off..

  • I love how they played this at the end of godfather 3

  • 2.16 - 2.20... amazing.

  • I watched the Godfather Trilogy yesterday and at the end of the last one when this song played I seemed to feel the emotion of Michael as he saw for the first time the ways the life he choose can cast a cruel fate upon you. His father had better things for him but they never came, and Michael had a whole different destiny planned, but it failed as well. Great piece of music here.

  • @CombatArmsMaster2009 SPOILER!!! Dude I haven't even watched the Godfather movies and I wanna watch them ... luckily i didn't read your entire comment

  • @steadric Alright, but they are the best movies the world has ever seen.

  • @CombatArmsMaster2009 And THAT is why I wanna watch them with the joy of not knowing what happens beforehand... Because they are good, and spoilers ruin movies for me!!

  • 1:27 - till the end. - EARGASM.

  • This might just be one of the most hauntingly eulogic pieces ever written... What Id hear in my head, God forbid, should a lifelong friend of mine pass on.. "Thanks for being here".....

  • The intermezzo always reaches deep down and drags the emotions out of me. I saw a performance of the opera at London's Royal Albert Hall, with my wife - who is sadly no longer alive - and the memory is always tender ......

  • I honestly loved all three films. The end of the 3rd one was real sad, but I always had a personal idea for the 4th. Show what happens after Mary dies, like how Vincent runs the family or what Kay does with her son. But, the 3rd film puts a nice cap on the entire trilogy. This song radiates that emotion of loss, and the feeling of failure he has about himself at the end. Like his father said to him before he died, Vito had better things for Michael, and Michael had better things for his kids.

  • Beautiful!

    Music to the ears

Thank heaven for being able to hear and enjoy great music.

  • im playing this in the invitation slow

  • meravigliosa,brividi veri!!

  • I love it, amazing

  • Reminds me of how well this was used in Raging Bull. And how horribly--horribly!--it was used in Godfather III (that stupid montage then cutting away to Pacino dying years later; stupid!; it expects us to care about the death of Sofia Coppola's character, but she's awful in it, and we don't care about her romance with Andy Garcia, because he's also so fucking awful in that film). That sentence ran away from me. Quite a piece of music. Quite indeed.

  • @bananasindividual

" it expects us to care about the death of Sofia Coppola's character"

Actually, it expects you to care about a father's loss and wasted life. The daughters death is the culmination of the father's ironic tragedy.

I've never understood people's confusion on this point of the film.

    Anyway, it's a wonderful intermezzo.

  • amazing music, love it,...im playing this at nationals

  • Bellissima!!!!!!! una favola ad occhi aperti!!!!

  • Perfect !!!!

  • Beautiful Video And Song, I like It Very Much! :-)

  • Mimameior: simply breathtakingly beautiful; gorgeous pictures, and I especially appreciated your information and how it was presented. I lose my sense of self momentarily and it feels like I melt into the universe...like a transcendence of spirit. Makes me wonder about who YOU are. If I think this might be the most beautiful piece of music ever written, can you tell me what else I might search for???...my soul needs rebooting after dabbling in the temporal for way too long.

    Many thanks

  • this makes me wanna cry

  • Today, I learned something; This is the music used at the very end of The Godfather: Part III. I have looked for years to find it...

  • Tony , Bobby , Sil at the table..

    The Sopranos

  • When you hear this music, you relax and you dream

    ARTA-GREECE

  • Wonderful...thank you ! :)

  • dont know why this song moved me to tears...

  • raging bull

  • and maybe you should go

  • I saw this opera by accident. Was very pleasantly surprised.

  • three people couldn't see through their tears and pressed the dislike button by mistake

  • watched godfather ending and this was playing ..glad i found it ..

  • You did an excellent job with the photos for this beautiful piece of music.

  • Classic Godfather Part 3 score. i have always loved this piece.

  • è troppo... troppo... troppo.. troppo bella.

  • This is so beautiful, i'm in an orchestra playing it currently. <3

  • Fell in love with this song when I was in my 30's. It's still my favorite to this very day, and I'm almost 60. Thank you very much, milli grazzi, Don Pietro Mascagni.

  • Its been done to death now. Mainly by Hollywood using it in literally hundreds of movies.

  • amazing!

    most beautifull song ever

    =D

  • This was my Dad's favourite piece of music. He died just over 2 weeks ago. The Last Sunday

    We had a great day

    Together with the family.

    Your girls sitting by you

    Laughing

    Loving the moment.

Your smile will stay in my heart

    Warming and comforting

    Goodbye my lovely Dad.

  • Mascagni's Intermezzo is simply beautiful.

  • Excellent.

  • wonderful :')

  • This is chicken soup for both the contented and the weary soul! I'll be playing this in my orchestra this spring, and looking forward to it. :) <3

  • BELLÍSIMOOOOOOOOO!!!!

  • This is the only song that makes me cry. I am a male.

  • I always think of my Dad when I hear this because oftentimes beautiful music brought tears to his eyes... and I was sitting next to him when this beautiful piece of music - played by a high-school orchestra - did just that......

  • This is a masterpiece. A beautiful work of art. No matter how stressed out I may be, this always soothes me in ways I never even imagined.

    Simply beautiful.

  • 3 people don't like this video. Three people are idiots!!!! This is beuatiful!!! Made me cry i love it so much i can't even get over it! Bravo! Bravo! Magnificent!!!!

  • This is what brings tears of joy to my eyes. The fact that a person could of created this beautiful masterpiece.

  • I love this song. In one of the greatest movies ever - "Raging Bull"

  • Music like this is why God gave us ears!

  • Beautiful

  • Wonderful music and a superb montage.

Many thanks Mimameior for posting this video.

  • This piece always succeeds in bringing me to tears.

So nostalgic...full of memory and emotion, like a glass of good red wine. Every orchestral swelling is felt in every ounce of one's blood. Passion, energy, and beauty like this is a gem for all generations to appreciate and enjoy.

    God bless.

  • @BigBrotherMateyka Could not agree more.

The BBC used this in a posthumous program about Fred Dibnah's last ever chimney felling. It was played in a scene shortly after the chimney was toppled, and the aging Dibnah, who would die soon after the film was made, sat down on the resulting debris to catch his breath. Heartbreaking stuff.

  • LO MAS SUBLINE y hace notar la falta de paz. SuperNova...........

  • Just heartbreaking.

  • 1st time i heard this I was gobsmacked..I sat there thinking 'how can something sound so heartbreakingly beautiful'

  • All I see is Robert DeNiro shadow boxing in , "Raging Bull." The best movie of the eighties!

  • The volume thing at the very beginning is the only thing that ruins it.

  • pieces like this are pure language by themselves .. you can feel the sorrow and the passion in your veins even when you don't know the story ..

  • I want this on my funeral,

    though, im only 15 yet...

  • for sure...a great song...and yes , reminds me of The Godfather part 3...that was the best movie i seen in my life

  • @UlianovF Godfather 3? The best, quite a unique opinion. A lot of people, inclidung myself consider it the weakest of the trilogy.

  • for some reason this piece of art makes me very emotional

  • Beautiful! =)

  • Dopeness, I love this song.

  • Does this remind anyone else of the only really good part of The Godfather part 3?

  • that and raging bull

  • Our Magical Moments, ahh

  • This video is truly a masterpiece. Your choice of classical music is so like mine.

Could it be that we're soul mates?

  • RAGING BULL

  • What a GORGEOUS video. I heard Cavalleria Rusticana on the Godfather III. It's the most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard which is why it will be played as I walk down the aisle in September.

This video and the photographs are as breathtaking as the music. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    -Cheers!

    Caitlin

  • What year did the opera come out? I recognise this piece, but didn't know where it had come from. It's amazing...

Well done on the pictures, too, they suit the mood perfectly.

  • It premiered in 1890. Glad you liked the video - I can't believe it's my least popular, as the piece itself is really famous and I thought my video was one of the best I'd made...

  • @aaronfledge you probably know it from the film Raging Bull with Robert De Niro

  • Simply beautiful

  • Really nice video. Very Beautiful Pictures and excellent music.

    Thanks!
