So if im gonna take a tv apart should i do it outside and what if i dont take the gas out when i take th high voltage out will it come out please help
@Jhfgsjdcd You can if you want. Just get a hammer and tap the back of the neck with force until it breaks. There is no gas inside of CRT's as they are vacuums (empty space). When the neck is broken air will be sucked in.
@Jhfgsjdcd Actually there is little of no mercury contained with in CRT's. If there were any it would be on the front lens, plus mercury would be too heavy to become airborne from a small hole on the neck of the CRT.
@Alex1M6 yes i would exspec so if you are fimilar with uzzors2k he uses crt phospours in one of his laser projects it seems really fun to play with and i was just wondering if you knew how thankx and great vid :P
@coilsinamotor Oh ok. Well in any case the phosphor is on the the very front of the screen on the inside. I think you would need to get access to the very front somehow (hammer?) and then extract the phosphor, I am no expert but I think gloves should be worn during the extracting.
@Alex1M6 haha i didnt relize that the phorus coating was only on the front of the screen i thought it was all around. i heard that it's toxic and one half of me is leaning toward the "dont-risk-poising-yourself" lol thankc for the tip
Very nice video, thanks a lot. Sad it has ratings disabled, this would definitely be a THUMBS UP!

Stupid question: Smash TV like in video, fill vacuum. Super-charge flyback transformer for very high voltage to TV. Plug in TV. ????

@Alex1M6 Dont.
Put a screwdriver on the very end of the tube and whack it,
There is a bead there used for vacuuming the system, whack it and it falls off. Safe discharge without glass shards all over you.

@Jhfgsjdcd there is not gas in the tube. the tube is under vacume so it is air going into the tube

how do you get the phoserus out?

@coilsinamotor I am not 100% sure but I think more smashing would be required in order to get to the inside of the front of the glass.
