Actually..the boy isnt from north London...he is from Northern England and in the story he has to travel to London to try out for the Royal Ballet School....It is a huge part of the story that he isnt from London but is from a small close minded simple area of England.
I shouldn't worry too much, Its made for a Washington State audience, most won't know North London from the North East, any more than we know Kent from Seattle. I see they've taken the liberty of renaming the musical, "Billy Elliott " (2xT's) presumably after their Elliott Bay in Seattle
