I can see someone getting upset if they think it's just another show by a bunch of cowboys... ...but this thing isn't as ridiculous for a SWAT team as people may think. There are guns civilians can legally purchase that will put holes even in this thing, meaning the citizens who are not law abiding have at least as many options.

@wesexpress this thing is an armored vehicle...basically something mobile and hard that you can put between you and whoever is shooting at you. If you're in the business of performing your duties in environments where someone may be shooting at you, this type vehicle is a reasonable way to increase the chances that you go home after work, rather than to the hospital or morgue.

Ok looks cool! How many times in the past 30 years has Cobb Co. used or needed a LAV 300 capability? How many SWAT guys could have pay raises or bought gear they REALLY need and use for the aquisition cost & annual fuel and maint. this thing costs? Just my 2c

I'm with you on this one. Can you imagine the savings for the taxpayer if the SWAT teams would utilize public transportation? And I've always been a big supporter of the potato gun as a less-lethal alternative. Also, I have a cape and a magic helmet.
