it's a little ridiculous how many negative comments this video has. this person is a pretty good piano player. so much negativity, i bet most of the people talking shit can't play nearly as well, if at all. Even if they can, it doesn't justify destructive criticism
@anthemofadam thanks for you comment. You see it is very old, quite a lot has changed since I played this. I am now playing in severals bars and booked quite often. I changed my playing style a lot, I am playing freely and jazzy not classically anymore. I reckon it is not well played, but still it shows my beginning and I wanted to share it with all of you. I guess many of jazzplayers started like this. yours florian
Du wirst sehen, Du brauchst keine Noten außer Realbook. Schreibe bitte zurück, wie Du darüber denkst.
Yeah, you know bar piano is not exactly what you're trying to perform here :) it's a start, cuz you're not playing exactly the 'musical school style', you are going in a direction of jazz :D but there's a lot of listening to bar piano jazz and hearing its subtleness needed in order to play bar piano style ;) good luck!
Hi Florian, you have a very good instrument, I play the CVP 303, we can replace experience. They are right - you are playing is not interesting (not to play sheet music, play from memory), the CVP will teach you a very interesting arrangements - buy a good piano midi;
@henar143 you must not know how to read music at all do you? playing with or without sheet music has Nothing to do with the knowing how to express the feeling of the piece. You sound like a one hand arranger player - only know how to play melody on right hand while holding chord on the left hand .. then of course, you can memorize the single melody note :-)
try practicing with absolute no sustain pedal, so you can hear your mistakes, and a metronome, your beat speeds up and down, almost stopping at times. its always nice to have a recording of the song to listen to a master play it. record your own and listen back for the mistakes, keep up the good work!
literally no feeling put into this song at all!!! not saying you're a bad pianist, but you play it to straight. loosen up a bit, have some fun with it
Well I'm sorry, but if I ran a bar I wouldn't let you near it. First of all get the tempo right, you can't play rubato throughout. Get a metronome and swing! Try saving left hand for beats 2 and 4. Now throw in some dominant 7ths. But you gotta learn the form of the tune first. You suck I'm sorry
Music does not have to be tied to one style. My Piano master at the Australian Institute of music performed this song with a classical and jazz mix together using a vairty of tempo's and some even in 7th.
@causticblog Pretty unnecessary and rude comment. He certainly does not "suck" at playing. Most people wish they could play that on a piano. Your an asshole, I'm sorry.
dude, idk. I think autumn leaves was originally a french classical opera something or another... but you are right... I'm a jazz piano performance major, i hate hearing it NOT played in bop or latin jazz

im 14 and I play this song WAAAAY better than this guy. Anyways, u don't have to be a professional to play an instrument. You don't need a college degree to play amazingly. It might help but its not nessesary.
i'm sorry, but you are EITHER 14 years old OR a professional bar pianist.. it's ok to be just a pianist, why do people always think that they have to spice up their life story with stuff like this?
good job with the cover! ;)
just a couple things to improve (my suggestion):
1) rythm and the strenght you use in your left hand (which should be very soft, so that the melody can be easily heard).
2) this is a soft, calm song - you played quite intense and fastly (though I understand this can be the way you feel the music).
besides that, the music is there. (i don't like vids where people only improvise and you have to guess wtf are they playing).
GOOD JOB.

@Cocoschatz
ja, finde ich auch das es sehr nach "Kirche" klingt.
Außerdem viel zu viel Pedale drinne.
Im großen und ganzen kannste die fast immer weglassen, hört sich dann
auch zumindest beim Jazz besser an.
