Despite the sheer badness of the movie, the fight scenes were way ahead of their time. While the training sequences seem inspired by old Shaw Brothers movies, we didn't see this kind of acrobatic action in Western movies until decades later. Now youtube is full of tricking and parkour, and mainstream movies are getting into it, too.

It is too bad that Kurt Thomas didn't try and make more movies, even though this movie bombed at the box office it really wasn't that bad of a movie. And plus that I'm a big fan of Kurt Thomas. Love to watch gymnastics, it is amazing what those gymnasts can do with their bodies, in part because of their strong core muscles

@GeoVII This was all part of the ninja craze of the early 80's. Americans were still new to martial arts movies so the bar was not set very high yet. The upside is that these low expectations made it possible for an unintentionally very funny movie to be made.

This film must have been written by the same monkey who acted as a script supervisor for Cannon films. A company which produced such gems as Invasion USA. All kidding aside, if you enjoy movies that require cocaine for you to make sense of the script then you should see it. It's unintentionally a very funny movie, that's what I like about it. According to the end credits, this film was based on a novel. Has anybody ever found any proof of this?

This movie is hilarious!

Essentially a gymnast is trained by Mr T & a wise Japanese man with an eagle on his arm. His mission is to win an obstacle course race which in turn allows the American government access to the country which in turn somehow gives them access to all satellites in the world.

Nothing makes sense or is explained including the lazy camera work which manages to take any possible tension out of the action scenes involving horses, gorges etc.

I highly advise you see it!
