  • does anyone have a good link to watch the eleventh hour?

  • This is one tradition that is sorely missing from the new series, they need to reinstate it.

  • the music lenghts 1:23

    sounds fitting

  • I agree. Or at least do the thing with the TARDIS noise like Number 1

  • Um honestly to stay with Doctor Who Tradition you only have The Doctors face and the credits start with his face.

  • @Nacho2333 Comment noted. If I was going to spend more time on it, I'd have cut it up a lot more... I also wanted to change the way the logo appears... but I was in a hurry. :)

  • @thecosmichobo i think it looks just fine.

  • quel est la musique avant le générique ?

  • @TeamRed51 Before the titles it's just the original soundtrack from The Eleventh Hour.

  • That ending was EPIC

  • I love it, well impressed with the faces comming up, wish bbc wales would bring the doctors face back into the opening credit!

  • matt smith is my favorite out of the three new ones cuz hes the one who acts more like the original doctors. hes good but my fav will always be tom baker followed by sylvester mccoy and i have very good reasons why i like the old series better.

  • @Mst3kfanatic1 If I didn't have a 3 year old son who is (by my own hand) a mad WHO fan, I'd have stopped watching after the Pandorica story. The disregard for timelines REALLY upset me, and now I see from Ep1 of this year, that they're doing it again. This has discoloured Matt Smith to me, though it may be the stories rather than the actor...

  • @thecosmichobo oh yes i do think it is the stories and not the actor, the same thing happened to Colin Baker in '85. with the exception of the two doctors, they gave him some really bad stories and it made people think he was a bad doctor, but i actually liked him, and that is why i liked the old ones because i loved the idea that, the doctor just had adventures and there was no doomsday type thing that linked all his stories.

  • @thecosmichobo I have a very similar opinion. Steven Moffat needs to be hit upside the head with a copy of the Laws of Time. Repeatedly. Preferably by Rassilon, although I wouldn't mind doing it myself. Matt's a great actor and he throws himself into the job with a lot of enthusiasm, but a lot of the stories are rubbish.

  • @KarmStarkiller Agreed. They aren't even good reasons to bend the rules. "Oh, okay, Steven. You're REALLLY gonna kill the doctor off at the end of this season. I'm quivering in my boots. Meanwhile, lets all go on a mad romp around time cuz the doctors magic box can apparently do everything but crap out unicorns. Rory's a Roman? sure thing! Amy's imagination resurrects the doctor? Why the heck not, you didnt tell us ten minutes ago that it was the pandorica that saved the universe or anything!"

  • @pjrg1919 Exactly! All of a sudden the Doctor's an alien wizard, complete with magic wand and box of tricks. I'm still pounding my head against the wall because of the whole "If something can be remembered, it can be brought back" rubbish. If something's been erased from history, there is no trace whatsoever, in people's memories or otherwise! Gah! RTD wrote a lot of crazy stuff, but at least it sorta made sense while I watched it. I can't get past the ABSURDITY of Moffat's eps!

  • @thecosmichobo I quite enjoy the stories when they dabble with time, gives you something to wrap your head around. Although, if every single story was time changing, it would become incredibly annoying. Just an opinion, great work, love to see a come back of the faces!

  • Can I use this? For Sims 3 Doctor Who series?

  • @99GROUCH Long as you put a link on here to what you use it in... Oh, assuming it's a YouTube vid... Otherwise some key words to search in Google to find whatever Sims 3 is :}

  • surely the names should have been taken out tho?

  • @grahamf19 Ah well yes, that is true... but the names look pretty :) I'm planning on re-doing this, as i want to achieve an affect when the titles are revealed... so maybe I'll take the names out, to make it more original series-like.

  • did you amplify the bassline? you can hear the bassline better in this video!

  • @SirWillig No amplification... I forget exactly where I found it, but I think what makes the theme stand out is that the thunder/etc seems to be a lot quieter...

  • Makes it look like a silly soap or something. Good job on the effects though, I do like your work lol.

  • lol

Yeah, adding the companion as well as the Doctor was something I debated... In fact, I probably should have cut both names, and just had the Doctor's face... a truer revamp of the original (67) theme.

  • David Tennant did a fantastic job as the doctor, He is probably my fav and will remain to be for a very long time. However I must say Matt Smith easily rival'd if not bested David's portrayal. He did a brilliant job at showing the more youthful and eccentric side to the doctor while still having that mean streak to him we all loved.

David had a long run and a good one but his time came, all you fanboys can just hope for a future "time crash" like episode with him in it.

  • I care not what others say- Matt does an amzing job as the Doctor. =^.^= His spontanious, amusing, quirky portrayal fits well in the mold of the character. And he's serious and believable when he needs to be. The only reason he takes flack is because he's the new guy. He's a very well-rounded and acomplished actor.

  • @DJBlackarachnia The only people I've seen insulting Smith lately are Tennant fan girls/boys, often people who watched because they fancied him.

  • I LOVE IT

  • Great to see this show still going strong. I watched it as a kid, now my kids watch it as well. Not sure about the new theme music arrangement. Always liked the original version. Not being a time lord myself, I guess age has made me a traditionalist.

  • Very nice! Makes me wish they had done this for the actual titles.

  • @SuperScotty97 Perhaps she should... :)

  • @thecosmichobo LOL!

  • @thecosmichobo i disagree there. i think amy pond is one of the best doctor who companions of all time because she is more equally matched with the doctor!

  • I think they never should've stopped using the face of the doctor at the beginning. I always liked that feature

  • @rocklobster1 I can but imagine how spooky it must have been back in 1967 when Pat Troughton's titles first received the "face" treatment. And yes, it was continued up til the series' axing, then never returned... Actually, I should have used a face shot in my extended 8th Doctor titles! D'oh.

  • This is amazing, this should be the real titles!

  • 1:18 - 1:23 music from the 1996 doctor who film i like it

  • @CREVASSE1 :) That's kind of become my signature. Those bars of the 96 theme connected with me in a massive way over a 14k modem...

  • Great mixing the faces in! amazing work!

  • WOAH!!! That Was Foooking AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SaffIsOnFire Thanks :)

  • Excellent! Tasteful face shot choices too.

I'd definitely like a longer version that I can chill to for a while.

  • @RustyKoi I wanted to use footage from the first episode (possibly because I was making it when there was no other available footage!), and wanted shots that were direct to camera, which makes it hard in a drama because generally looking into the camera is a no-no. Luckily that shot of the Doctor walking through the hologram was perfect, and helped with blending into the vortex! Amy was a tougher choice...

  • the BBC america version dosent have the closing titles, awesome vid though

  • @subliminaltikva Oh! :( That's awful. Even here in Australia some of the commercial networks are cutting off end credits of movies/tv shows. It's disgusting. Sad to hear that the BBC are doing it too on their US network.

  • the mistake people keep making is that they are showing the companions face in the vortex which you should not do. only the doctors.

  • @WilligsPage I completely understand why you say this, as indeed traditionally it was only ever the Doctor's face... but, the new series of Doctor Who, is not the same as the old series... the companion/s are very much equals to the Doctor... so I felt it "right" to include the companion. (Also her name is in the titles, though I guess I could have cut that out and made extra time for Matt's face :} )

  • @thecosmichobo well you certainly are correct there! I was just confused at first. You did an awesome job on blending them!

  • Nicely done. Could have done with a longer- lasting image of the cast members, but given the time constrants, great work.

  • @BrainComm487 I actually slowed the time-vortex by about 25% to allow a bit longer for each face... but yes, there's not a lot of time there to stick them in without doing a major cut/paste/blend job.

  • can u do some clean ones and send them 2 me

  • This theme is the best one yet! The balance between the old and new elements makes it so.

  • good work! i like it!

  • So...Karen Gillan's face lights the Time stream on fire?

  • @grthwllms Doesn't it light your fire? :) Well, her red hair matched fairly well at least.

  • @grthwllms And that's Time Vortex

  • @grthwllms You'd think it would be Matt Smith's that lights it on fire.. :\

  • @grthwllms Well she is a red-head :P

  • @grthwllms don't you mean time VORTEX? what kind of a whovian are you???

  • The way you integrated the scenes into each other was absolutely fantastic! If you get to become the new doctor who theme producer I wouldn't be surprised but sit on the sidelines and say to my friends, told you so. Great stuff!

  • like it

  • Good job. Probably the most effective use of the faces in the S5 titles so far... I really wish Moffat had indeed put the faces in the real titles. Guess all those rumours were wrong.

  • @warszawianka For me, there was no more effective face appearance than in Davison's era... although the same technique as Tom's last season, the picture they used had too many dark areas... Such a look wouldn't mesh with the modern titles however. This attempt really was just a hack - I was mainly wanting to offer a full titles sequence to go with the full theme music; had to add the faces though when I saw the opportunity :)

  • @warszawianka Thanks for the kind words :) It was a bit of a rush job, and I'd probably find a better image for Amy's face with the stories that followed... but I really liked the clip I used for Matt - him walking through the image of his former self, with the blue aura helping to add to the effect. Amy's red hair did go nicely with the red of the "vortex" at the point she disappears...

  • grate i like you the way you make these themes

  • @rhannah48 Thanks :) All comments appreciated.

  • Nah.

  • @TheAngryGit Nah?

  • @thecosmichobo Oh sorry. What I meant was that I didn't really like the faces in it. It didn't work too well. No offense or anything.

  • @TheAngryGit No offense taken. Did you feel the faces were "too rushed", or poorly superimposed, or...?
