  • This is the first vid of yours that I've watched and I had to subscribe. I'm looking for the "victorian rose"... I'll flip through your vids and see what I can find. You're great at explaining so I'm hoping I'll find it!

  • wow! awesome video! :D.. It was your mother who taught me this :p, really wish you would upload alot more videos, show us your skills, and teach along the way! :D

  • thank you so much for the help... i have been making cakes for years and i have never made mine like that, i always started my petal work at the bottom and wen't up and they turn out beautiful but yours is so much easier... thanks so much for the easy tip :-)

  • what icing did you use?it's the right consistency i'm lookig for can u share the recipe?

  • You need to put much more pressure on bag that's why your getting empty parts on petals or your icing is to stiff but your roses are really nice thanx

  • this is AMAZING!! :D

  • Thanks for making this video--I'll be using it this weekend to make some rose-themed cupcake decorations!

  • Thanks for the tutorial. What is the best consistancy for roses ?

  • Thanks for the tutorial. The rose is beautiful. The written instructions are also great, but it is hard to read them. You should put them on a separate black screen and make the letters bigger.

  • what tip did you use here ?

  • hi are you using the buttercream ? can you send me your recipe ? thank you very much

  • What consistancy of icing did you use? I decorate, for 4-H, and am tring to learn to do roses. The only problem is I never seem to get the right consistancy icing.

  • brill that was awsome

  • Wow, never really got interested in this because I thought it was hard, maybe I CAN do it, I will try. Thank you for the video

  • wow thats a great rose

  • like it! thanks

  • How beautiful!

I have yet to try it, but you seem to have made it look simple and easy that I'm ready to try it right away!

I hope you upload more videos. I look forward to learning more from you! :)

  • hi pple i'm new here and i would like some friends btw i will try 2 get a vid up fr use bye

  • I love this idea........thank you i will give it a try....

  • Very nice, thank you.

  • Your technique is the best I've seen so far....I just made a cake for my grandma with lots of roses.....I wish I'd have seen this vid b4 I made the cake 'cause I've been looking for a better technique.....I'll try it on my b-day cake and tell you how it turns out!!!!

    God Bless!!

  • This is a really good explanation!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • i think the rose looks better with the tearing cream

  • I noticed your buttercream is "tearing" along the outside edges when making the petals. I've only tried to make buttercream roses on two separate occasions and became frustrated by my roses tearing like that, but much worse in my case. I also had to squeeze very hard. Was my icing too stiff? If I added more liquid it immediately seemed to become too thin. I used a pretty standard recipe with half butter half shortening and thinned it with corn syrup and also heavy cream. Any advice?

  • add some powder suger

  • thank you!!! your better instructor than a life 3 hr class!!!

  • Thank you very much for you wonderful comment.

  • hey i'm new on here so i would like 2 be ur friend p.s what ur buttercream recipe ;]

  • Thank you very much. could u pls share your buttercream receipe?

  • what kind of icing do u use? i cant seem to get the consistency right. mine is too thick usually.

  • when making your icing try adding just a touch of water and whip it really well. That should help with the "thickness"

  • You make the best rose on YouTube and you explain and show how so well. Thank you for such a great instructional video. -MeIrishGuy

  • Oh my! Thank you so much.

  • What # of tip was used?

  • Thank you for such a great video. I have been trying to teach myself this method from a book but it just wasn't working! Your video made it look so simple and it has been very helpful!

  • thank you so much. I am working on a new one. And should be posting it soon! Cake decorating is so much fun! Thanks for the very kind comments!

  • thank you sooo much!! this video is perfect!! what do is the best frosting to use for making rose pettels? and what temperature... cold warm, melty?

  • room temp. if you find that the definition is lacking try sticking the icing in the fridge for a bit. good luck!

  • Thank you so much for your presentation. Its very detailed.

  • whats up im a young artist just getting into pipeing and i would love it if you are able to exsplain about how to use tips for decorating cakes and the names and the number that is the tip

  • great tip. Thanks. We are going to do a video on the different tips. I will try to put it up as soon as possible.

  • Nice! What type of icing do you for the roses.

  • We used buttercream for this rose. We mix 1/2 lb of butter with 1/2 lb of crisco, and 1kg of Icing Sugar and a tsp of vanilla and a touch of water to make it creamy. Make sure you whip it good. Thanks for asking.

  • woow

  • Thanks so much for this great video lesson! I think I like yours best of all the ones I've seen :-) One question....who is singing the song that plays during the video? She has a gorgeous voice! Thank you in advance.

  • Hi. Thanks for you kind words. The artist that is singing is Amanda Marshall. You are right she has an amazing voice.

  • Thank you for getting back to me on the singer. I listened to the words again yesterday, found the lyrics and artist through Google, and ordered her CD...can't wait! I'm looking forward to your next video :-)

  • You will love the CD. She has a few CD's and they are all great!

  • really greatt video more plz

  • Hi, I have made a video and will be posting it soon. If you have any suggestions that you would like to see please let me know and we will try to accommodate. Thanks for you kind words.

  • Awesome video,thanks!

  • wow.

  • Hi,

Your video is great but I can't seem to get mine to stay up. It collapses all the time. Do you have a special icing that you use? Would you share it with us please?

    Thanks

  • I do cake decorating. Your problem is most likly because your icing isn't stiff enough. Most flowers require stiff icing or they won't stay up. 1 tbs of morang powder per lb of icing will most likly fix your problem sweet4u21!!!

  • Great tip! We use a stiff icing as well. To make buttercream that is great for doing roses we mix 1Kg of sifted icing sugar with 1 cup of butter, 1 cup of shortening, a tbsp of vanilla, and a little water to make it all mix to a smooth texture. Good Luck!

  • Its a great video for learning because the video is clear and gives you different angles hope to see more soon

  • did you use a buttercream from scratch or did you just buy it? i like how the way you did the cone with the same tip with the pedal tip. the wilton way you use two tips one for the cone and the other for the pedals.

  • We made the icing. And thanks for the comment. We find doing the cone with the same tip works very well.

  • Nice rose. I see you are placing your roses on wax or parchment paper. I do that when I want to make alof of roses and pick out the best ones to put on the cake. But most of the time I use a pair of scissors to take the rose off the flower nail and place my rose directly on the cake while making it. I find that scissors work easier for me than a spatula. I find that my my roses or other flowers slip off the spatula when I am doin that.

  • Great idea, thank very much!

  • great i am going to try it

  • That was a great video! I'm a beginner and it was nice to see it over and over very clearly. Thank you!

  • Great technique, hope you will share soon more from your knowledge with us :)

    Greetings from austria!

  • Thank you for your kind words, we will be posting more soon!

  • Thanks!!!!

  • Thank you

  • thankyou!

  • Thank you

  • thank u so much great video

  • Thankyou!

  • you should shake the piping bag after you put the icing in to get the air bubbles out snd you dont get a ripped petaled flower look but overall I love your technique way more than the others Ive seen!!!

  • Thanks so much. The Icing we used for this video was not the best (full of hard icing bits and the tip kept clogging). Thanks for the kind words! We are making more videos so hopefully you will enjoy those as well.
