They are just absolutely perfect. I think they should have won the gold medal. They skate with such speed, emotion, and power....gorgeous to look at in every possible way. This team is fantastic ! I really believe that they have the best OD and FD this year !! Of course we still have to discover Delobel / Schoenfelder programs but they already have all my support and admiration for the olympics !!!

Just because they were under the shadow of the other well known American team that they were considered number two.

Now the spotlight is on D/W. Currently the number one ranked team in the whole world. Too bad the other team withdraw for the GPF in Tokyo next week. I was excited to see both teams compete together. The other team won Skate America but their scores were well below than D/W.

And I thought last year's program was great. This one is just phenomenal with their awesome unison on footwork and amazingly fast twizzles and combination spins and lift. The program is so perfectly choreographed to the music it just takes your breath away to watch.

My hunch(speaking as a fan looool), is that Meryl and Charlie are going to be the first americans to nail those two gold medals.

First Worlds, perhaps even this season .

As for Olympics, I sincerely hope they only get that gold medal in four years time because I so looooove their skating that, I want them to stick around delighting us for another Olympic cicle. I sincerely hope they get silver in Vancouver!

I don´t know that. I am a recent fan .All I know is that as much I like Frederica and Massimo , Anna and Luca , I wouldn´t mind seeing Meryl and Charlie win the gold medal at worlds in Tonino in my beloved Italy next year.. Ah! I would be so happy!

Belinda, no, the USA has never won a gold medal for ice dancing at the worlds or Olympics.

They've won a silver medal and a bronze medal (2006, 1976) in the Olympics. And they've won 7 silver medals and 16 bronze medals at Worlds in ice dancing.

Wow... another great program! Daisuke Takahashi brought me to tears with his Phantom program a couple years ago and if Meryl and Charlie give this program 100% in Vancouver, I know I will be in tears again! I called them the new Anissina and Peizerat when I first saw them as rookie seniors... and they are getting closer and closer every year to that level. Way to go!

They are fantastic. Their S&D won me over.They deserved a medal at worlds. IT WAS A DISGRACE WHAT HAPPENED. Ice dance judgingat its worst as usual.And It is strange how this marvellous couple always seem to play second fiddle to the canadian pair.The canadian pair is good but these ones are fantastic.They are my favourites.I hope thjey have a wonderful season full of success.

No need to be cross..it´s just an "european opinion"

They are a lot of people´s favourites not only in the US but also in Europe. Almost all the commentators on european channels said that they skated the best performance of the evening, so.......they certainly won the hearts of the viewers that evening.They were brilliant and the judging was baaaad!

Anyway, this is a new season and I think that their OD and FD are incredible.

HA! European opinion my ass...lol. European commentators did not rave about D/W as much as other teams and even the heavily biased Canadian CBC network and maybe universal sports...TRACY WILSON liked them the best, and probably a few other European comentators, but certainly not all.. I'VE watched most of the euro channels myself, see... and i know for a FACT they did not all like D/W's the best...just saying:

like for example, the BBC (Robin Cousins) and German eurosport did not think they were the best... Brit Eurosport absolutely loved them...Tracy Wilson raved about them too.... and probably the other NA networks but don't generalize plss i watch euro channels and they don't disagree with the judging, in fact, some had no comment about it....just saying
