  • Love it!

  • Onya James - Wot a top song!@

  • Alright we have "Shut Down", now is missing "HIbernate", "Restart" and "Stand By". I think Australlian Crawl should complete the series. ;-)

  • MARAVILHOSA BANDA. MÚSICAS ETERNAS.

  • I don't know the lead guitarists name but him and the Chisel's guitarist are absolute legends.Hell, nearly every song in the 80's featured brilliant guitar work.

  • @laiosto He's Simon Binks, and you're right. :)

  • Did anyone ever really understand what he sang......it was always a bit of a mystery to me.........

  • @TheNatasha66 Try the website: JustLyrics. com. You will see the words there.

  • @TheNatasha66 Thanx!

  • He could have sung the telephone book.... so long as \I could look at him doing it Gorgeous.

  • when we told our production company we were taking the band into a condemned building with huge holes in the floor they took out about 10 million bucks in insurance for the day!....also my daughter Nina was born about 2 hours before the shoot so it was a special day indeed!...Chris Worrall [of Lofven Worrall productions}

  • Australian Surf Music :)

  • Sou fa do Australian desde a adolescencia da epoca que se usava cabelo comprido muito bom.

  • fav song of theirs

  • realmente um banda incrivel da era de 85'.... a era do surf music...

praia do arpoador , pepê, tantas outras ....

descida do alto da boa vista de bikes....

    oh saudades...

  • @rupertthebrave

That's an interesting observation... I just saw it was a group of guys playing in a warehouse back in 1982. You are right - it does need a little more boost and intensity. I also don't get why Guy didn't sing on more tracks, seeing as he did so well with 'Oh No Not You Again' and 'Errol'... I wish they made it worldwide... perhaps your comment reveals a little as to why it wasn't the case.

  • @nzoz1982

I actually think that the video clip is perfect for the song. IMHO, it suits the song perfectly. The clip lets the song speak for itself, by allowing us to focus on what Reynes is singing. It shows the band as having a great time just jamming.

  • @DixieFlatline78 I also enjoy watching the video... infact, I think band performance videos are quite often the best. Who needs models, scripts, famous actors, special effects, etc? I think this clip pretty much captures a moment that will no longer be...

    Chris Lofven made this clip.

  • @nzoz1982 I love all your clips etc.. many happy memories. Also oz crawl did pretty darn good considering that many of them are no longer with us :(

  • @retrogirl6661 very true... RIP Brad and Guy.

  • @rupertthebrave

hey the music and lyrics were agreed to be good. but mike chapman warned them that unless their lyrics could be interpreted by the yanks they wouldn't make it into the U.S music scene. this thesis proved right. i'm flat out personally making out the lyrics in most of their songs. luckily for me i know them, and they're great lyrics. just sux that the rest of the world didn't gain exposure to their music.

  • @rupertthebrave you cant make it big unless youre jewish. look at all the hollwood stars etc.. you have to have a connection.

  • ALIMONY! ALIMONY! ALIMONY!

  • Australian rock`n roll is one of the best! Australian Crawl is fantastic

  • One of my all-time fav Aus Crawl songs :)

  • @lovezmuzic2 Agree with you. This band were high in the charts constantly in Australia and deserved to be heard in America. Are you aware though that it is very hard for Australian acts to break into the American market? Radio stations over there can be very cruel. Silly really.

  • Australian Crawl were/are awesome. James Reyne has one of those sexy voices and they were and still are the best we ever produced..I remember when they were on Countdown the first time and James had his 2 broken arms, I thought he was sexy then..We rock us Aussies.. :)

  • @lovezmuzic2 A lot of Aussie music was played on early US music-video shows and MTV, during its early days...

I don't know why Aussie Crawl failed everywhere else. They wrote great songs, a good-looking lead singer and the tragic-tortured artist Guy McDonough. I guess you're proof that it couldn't have worked.

  • My friends in colour

  • Another one for the file... Crawl File that is :-)

  • verdade ..isso eh musica de verdade !! surf music na veia !!

  • isso que é som...nao se faz mais musica como antigamente!!...show de bola!!

  • why would anyone want to hit a fellow AUSSIE in the head with a missile?????Do you crave American style attention????? Fuck-ing idiot.

  • @danko1969 Absolutely agree, even if James was a total dick, no one deserves that treatment...BTW, I'm an aussie bloke who grew up in Maroubra NSW and now sitting in my room, Buckinghamshire UK, preparing my uni thesis with the wife and kids down stairs...really miss Aus.

  • Almost 30 years have passed and this track stands the test of time...forget talent quest shows, this is how good music sounds like.

Up the Aussies...from a Maroubra bloke living in London

  • @5150VanAlien Do you miss Oz?

  • @Westyrulz Yea definitely. Living in the UK makes you appreciate the beauty of Oz. The weather, the food the beaches and most of all the true blue Aussie spirit.

  • @5150VanAlien HEY!! Agree totally! I was 13 when this came out - I LOVED this band - I wish this music was appreciated more but alas.... btw, i'm a Maroubra bloke living in Athens ;-)

  • @nrith Yasoo Levendi! After 9 years in London, this Maroubra boy has come back (actually now in Hurstville!) Hope you're enjoying Athens and listening to this great track at the same time. The Greek economy maybe shite but at least 80s home grown music is there for us to enjoy and reminisce.

  • listening to this in manchester, thinking of home where I hear it's 44 degrees. i could do with being down on the penisula right now. did i mention it's snowing...

  • Had a mate hit JAMES REYNE in the head with a beer can in the 80's at a concert in BRISSY JAMES was not happy!!!!!!!!!!!

  • would you be happy?

  • You got his name?

I want to nominate him for an Order of Australia...

  • Yeah James was always a smug bugger -> Glad to hear he got a beer can in the head....LOL!!!! Should get ya mate to do it to his brother on live tele too.....moo haww harr :)

  • @ClandestineBoogue David Reyne is a good guy. He is honest, fair good humoured and a good friend.

    Simon Bnks

  • @simonjbinks Hey David -> Glad to the hear the apple fell further from the tree then.... :)

  • Aussie Crawl marcou epoca no Brasil, junto com Hoodoo Gurus, The Church, entre outras bandas australianas.. tem muito gringo que nunca ouviu falar

  • so celtic? u mean so aussie mate

  • I from Brasil and here in 80s this sound roaded all country, fucked munch girl, and finally gave me wounder moments in my life

    .gulu

  • What is a "munch girl"?

A female who likes oral sex?

  • he means much or many girls..good luck to him..and yes australian crawl were very big in Brasil

  • they are so Celtic. So fucking SCOTTISH.

  • Lived in Aussie in the 80's, Aussie Crawl were the best!! Brings back a lot of memories to see them again. Did'nt get to see James Reyne sing live till 2003 when i revisted,Great video.

  • 80s aussie rock was awsome my mate sent me a vid called australia now when he emigrated wish i still had it!!! any of you aussie cuzs know the track listings?

  • i think i briefly recall that video... very mildly.

  • simbiotic... you are a funny fucker.

    legendry song

  • awesome band.. tinged with their fair share of tragedy though..

  • This reminds me of the 3 o'clock shop in the coogee bay hotel in the early eighties................. oh dear no work tomorrow.

  • Which Shop was that?

    Tasty Tucker?

that filthy dirty shop run by that Asian guy with all the off food?

  • No. The bar in The Coogee Bay Hotel. Stayed open till 3 in the morning every day. Had a big screen and showed lots of stuff like that, Crawl, Chisels etc. Used up all my sickies because of that pub!

  • Comment removed

  • Yeh .. good voice alright !! but his diction is almost unintelligable !!

  • This is the best cure for homesickness put on youtube and listen to some great Aussie 80s music, transports me from Wales back to Sydney and i'm in the Horden Pavillion rocking away to those great 80s bands.Would someone please invent a time machine Please

  • This is such a great track and I listen to Swedish metal. You can really hear the use of the melodic minor key. Catchy, with hooks and sounds awesome. I'm a Sydney guy now living in the UK and listening to this takes me back to Countdown...bring back Molly Meldrum

  • yeah man.... brissy guy ..now in uk... go the countdown!

  • this bloke has the best voice just about of all time he still sounds the same today when he plays shit hot

  • so im not the only one who thinks that

  • OMG I LOVE THIS SONG

  • Worked in a wanky cocktail bar in Balmain in the 90s and was thrilled when James came up to the bar for a drink. The young barmaid said, "You`re famous, aren`t you??" to which he smiled graciously. She went on, "Yeah, you host that Getaway show, I love it." I shouted something like "That`s his fucking brother!" but James just chuckled and walked back to his mates with his drinks. Absolutely no ego problems there, very amusing.

  • i hope you explained to the barmaid that james is ten times more famous than his brother.. bloody legend james is..

  • We fired her. I said she was stealing but the real reason was not knowing her Reynes.

  • now thats true blue aussie just fire her. lol you cracked me up with that one.

  • saw james a feww eeks ago still sounds just as good, you wankers thinking he was on drugs, he is one of the fittest blokes of his age i have seen, he is ripped and looks unbeleivable.

  • yea, very deep

  • love is easy, love is unkind. some are sleazy. love so blind. :) wow

  • what a song - wow

  • go goose urself u wanker glensn,,,

  • Oh man this was so cool back in the 80's. Remember Rocktober at the Myer Music Bowl... it was outta sight!! lol

  • She'll push and shove 'cause you're her gold mine.

  • My favourite band from the 70's and 80's; I loved Aussie Crawl.

It's very sad when you consider Guy McDonough and Brad Robinson, both founding members of the band, died very young. Guy was only 26 and Brad 38. Simon Binks is permanently incapacitated as a result of a car accident. There's certainly been a jinx for this great band, but it's great to see James Reyne still going strong.

    He's a great singer/songwriter, a true Aussie great.

  • Guy didn't join till 80-81 somwthing like that. He wasn't a founding member but he was a big part for a couple of years. Its a real shame, he was very talented.

  • Well guitarist McDonough was definitely using speed - His death in '84 was caused by pneumonia related to injection of speed.

  • ummmmm ok thanks and itypethenamehere why the fuk did u do speed

  • Hes on speed for sure look at the nose rubbs.. I know I USED TO USE IT

  • more likely smack.

  • hahaha as if he's on speed goose he would have been on the coke....

  • Great vid....

    Thanks.

  • Bill looks a little older...

  • this song made me pass my english class...tis a great song

  • you did well in comprehension but failed in diction?

  • Thanks for this. Great vid.
