@lasktguy had this argument many times, guess if you like "fake sports" like WWF then you will probably like this, there is a good reason why it went from 30,000 sell out crowds to bankrupt, personally o prefer real sport that is played by sportswomen and not actors
@brikel yes, there is a good reason why the sport went bankrupt but not the reason you think. When it did close it still was selling out arenas so lack of attendence or fans was not the reason. Some of us who are on the inside do know the real reason. Why don't you ask Seltzer? He'll tell you it had nothing to do with anything you're saying.
@lasktguy of course it had to do with viewing figures and money, same as every other sport in the world, jerry was very frank and admited the game lost it's way a bit which had a lot to do with it's downfall, the fact that the modern game is played all over the world and not just north america and australia says a lot to me about the difference between the 2 games
WOW! It' almost looks like you got a hold of a master tape. Too bad nobody had the sense to keep copies of pre-73 games. I use to love watching this stuff on sat. mornings.
@puck30 The working master tapes were recorded over. I don't they had the budget to record and store tapes from before 1973, but it would have been cool if they did. A few pre-73 game tapes are floating around- and they have made their way to youtube.
i'm so glad this type of derby died and we now have a real sport instead

@brikel that's funny. I feel the exact opposite. I think this was great and today's games are a bunch of crap.

@brikel good, if he told you then you know it had nothing to do with it being legit or not. Guess that puts an end to this discussion.
