Fools and fools alike will misinterpret the meaning of this WAR PRAYER.....the meaning behind it is simply this....we you pray take heed that what you pray for does not inhibit the well being of any human being, lest you be judged by the petition you make before the Lord......We are called to be king to one another, not to destroy each other...when you ask for something, consider the effect it will have on your neighbor....
I wish Mark Twain were alive today. I think he'd fit in well. I'm betting his genius could have made a good run at being our first agnostic/atheist President :p
i disagree. if you read twain, he makes numerous criticisms of some of the american elements like patriotism and self importance, religion and slavery. if you ever read twain, this is the twain you are likely to know. this poem should not be surprising
The War Prayer could not and would not ever be published, performed, or distributed on film or video in post 911 America--it just could not happen because the MSM-main stream media would p***y out as soon as the Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity or some other neo-cons shill cleared their throats.
Twain was a Freemason. This actor is blue because Freemasons use the color blue in their symbolism.
Slavery? The Jews swore vengeance on negros who had enslaved them in Africa. The Jews then sold blacks into slavery. Jews sold blacks to everyone. They sold them in Rome and later throughout Europe and then to Americans whose abolishionists freed them.
Twain wasn't so ignorant to not know that. He was peaking from the stance required of him by Grand Masters/Wizards/Tricksters.
It is a searing indictment without humor that was not published in his lifetime at the request of his family and associates. It is more relevant as of 2003, than when written probably influenced by Spanish-American war hysteria.. Twain: "No, I have told the whole truth in that, and only dead men can tell the truth in this world. It can be published after I am dead."

What a laugh.
Here's my own Lord's Prayer:
O Lord, let me be a total d*ck just because I love thee
O Lord, let me act like a moron just because I love thee so much
O Lord in my infinite love for thee, let me be a depraved c*nt
O Lord love me because I'm evil
Me thinks Twain was mocking the Freemason basTurds.

@ExoticGawdess he is making fun of the pompous patriotic zealots who think they make war in the name of god

@avalsonline Would not call it "making fun".

Excellent. Mark Twain still rocks nearly a hundred years after his death.
