  • After Torque unfortunately stopped, i looked into the engine and what i found was that the engines i had being using were cutting me short, in the coding section, there is plenty of freedom in leadwerks however i recommend people try before they buy, some people just aint coders, other than that beautiful engine. And just to check in version 3, u stated that no code was needed, has coding been removed or simply the function to not use it has been added?

  • @MomentumStudios1250 You can code a game in Leadwerks Engine 3 with pure C++ if you want, or use a combination of script and code in any language, or without any code at all. There are layers of control, and they actually work together nicely instead of fighting.

  • Can you make an entire game just using Leadwerks? Does it even do the C++/XML coding for you?

  • @Beolex it does not code for you, but you can actually make a game with the upcoming version 3 without coding.

  • Textures DO look nice. As well as level design.

  • GSC should license your engine instead of developing their own crappy one.

  • i downloaded the evaluation kit, i tried to open it and i got an alert saying i didnt have openAL and then another alert saying exception_access_violation or something and then the program closed. so i installed openAL and now the program just opens for a split second and then closes itself without any alerts? :S the only thing i found that might of been it on the internet is the fact that McAfee sees it as a trojan, but when i looked i dont even use McAfee anymore :S

  • 0:49 The shadows on both sides do have some weird popup-effects. Maybe you should fix that in upcoming versions of the engine :)

    I'm thinking about buying a license. It looks great, and I heard good stuff about it.

    One Problem: The last versions evaluation kit featured flickering shadows and buggy physics on my GTX480 :(( Had the newest drivers. :/

  • I don't like how the sky doesn't match the actual lighting conditions. With an overcast sky the shadows would hardly be there!

    Since I'm a Stalker fan, I love to see people do things with it, but this is just fantastic work.

  • More grass, more trees, more random trash please! For gods sake, it's been abandoned for almost 30 years, and it looks like my yard.

  • Maybe its just me, but watching the vid, I had the constant feeling that "something" is missing.

    Its propably that everything looks so clean. Theres not enough chaos! Why arent the roads damaged at all? The buildings have missing roofs, but apart from that. NO structural damage? Same counts for the bridges! It looks more like overall bad maintenance than serious apocaliypse atmosphere! Uncanny valley for me!

    Apart from the criticism, I like the vegetation A LOT!

    The wind on foliage (in the distance especially) was quite good.

  • @BeAnAgeLabs Indeed, it need to be more rustier, more dusty. Lighting needs to be darker. There needs to be more wreckage. Textures, expecially the buildings are too and one toned, it needs to be more spiced up with damage, radiation rusts. Buildings looks too simple and too much like each other. Fires needs to be bigger, and smoke need to be comming out of it. The 1:11 brick pile looks odd. The bridge in 1:17 needs to be taller and the cammera need to point more at the sun.

  • ...The "bridge and road" scene at 1:31 scene need to have more props and wrecked car to it. Interiors looks too empty and clean. And yeah, thats about it, its missing alot, but its damn good work never the less

  • @80strowns, 2 artists and about three months.

  • Oh darn, I think some of the big Kajunas engine are having some competition.

    I bet some companies are getting some indigestion.

    Keep it up man you may end up being bought by some of the bigger fishes out there just to get you out of the way.

  • @JerezJulio Go try to make sandbox levels with it..

    Also add a decade to the time it takes to make this. That's around the time it takes to acquire these texturing skills. I'm sure they have people who will do it for you though.

  • @GeekMatrix Lua, C++, C#, BltzMax will all work, along with just about any other language.
