I'm a firm believer that marijuana will be legalized in my lifetime, and I'm going to be a damn proud toker when it does. The more the truth about cannabis is spread, the more people will see through this anti-marijuana propaganda, the more people will be acceptant of this, and demand legalization from the government. The only reason marijuana has not been legalized here in the US is simply because of ignorance. I have talked to a LOT of people that actually believe pot can kill someone if they smoke too much in one sitting. After I explain to them that you can't overdose on pot and that its actually safer than prescription drugs, most of them change their view. Of course, there will always be people that cling to ignorance and simply will not change their view, unfortunately.

I think it will be legal here in the US within the next 1-2 years...

Last year it was monthly you would hear a single Pro marijuana news story.... But this year it's been literally everyday... Day after day "Benefits of medical marijuana", "mother treats autistic kid with marijuana brownies", "Will the extinction of marijuana laws help the economy?".... Those are some example among many.... Not to mention Portland just opened it's first marijuana coffee shop.
