I love the way this is made. As in, it is just a man talking. Not fancy editing cutting back and fore every few seconds, no stupid reinactions, graphics or theatre, no over dramatic or sentimental music drowning him out. No gimmicks. Just a man telling a story. You could call it old fashioned, and it is. It's fantastic.

Brilliant. The programmes were re-run not that long ago and I'd sit up til all hours watching them. Cracking wee guy.

He seemed to a fair and interesting representation of Scottish culture of yesteryear.
