@brewy1973 i agree brewy, the cure should get back with john and make another killer album. it rocked it ruled, it saved my life on more than 1 time. SMOKE THE SKY!!!
such a killer album! it's a shame that John wasn't on Too fast for love and Shout at the devil, they would have sounded amazing with him! Motley lost a talented musician for an overrated singer, the only reason why Neil is considered better than Corabi is that he is the original frontman, but who has good ears knows that John slaps Neil's ass!
I have always asked myself where the hell did guys like Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee find and crew up with guy like Vince Neil. I mean...just look at this video. This CD is their best so far by them and will remain the best til' Corabi ain't comin' back bitches!!
@kaywesal If you think it was only the record company you are out of your mind. The band also knew they needed Vince back. You're right, they may not have loved the fact, but they understood they had to.
corabi can sing circles around vince; he's just not motley crue. vince is crue - through and through. the best way to appreciate this album is as a step sideways in the evolution of motley crue. it had great songs, a nice thick sound and a very talented singer. it kicked serious fucking ass, and the production quality certainly paved the way for the the sound of motley crue in the albums that followed.
This was a fantastic album. Hard, nasty, killer tone, and Crab is just a way better singer than Vince. It just wasn't Motley though. Vince isn't an amazing vocalist, but he brings that certain thing to the Crue. It's chemistry or something.
Sixx was right when he said they should have released the album under a different band name. It would have done much better.
Good song but, it isn't Motley without Vince. The music on the album is excellent. Corabi just doesn't cut it. Don't dislike the guy but, there was a reason they begged Vince back in.
@kocur2694 The didnt want to ask neil back !! But was told by record company that they wouldnt produce generation swine without Vince. Its that simple. Record company wanted vince not the band.
I will ALWAYS defend this album!!!! I think it's about time people stopped talking s@it about it just because John Corabi was the vocalist...This song and the album smokes and that's all there is to it!!!!!
unfortunatly..john plays guitar...great singer, but mars wasn't gonna have a singer who plays guitar and tell him about songs....john should have just come into the band as a singer...NOT singer guitar player.....anyway...that's just life...
@jodonte1 Really?! Ya don't see how his guitar playing made them much more diverse? REALLY?!! Corabi gave them an edge and the Balls they were missing w Vince. A totally heavier sound to say the least. Your cmmnt of him telling Mick anything is out your ass!! Like that would Ever happen. If Ignorrance was Painful......
@glimmertwinsproduct once again....nobody was going to tell mick how to structure a song with a new singer, and GUITAR PLAYER... get the fuckin hint....mick was always the man on guitar in motley....a new singer , and GUITAR PLAYER, aint gonna happen..john was just a little too cocky to stay in the crue..please fuck off..

Corabi is very creative but he can't beat Neil's charisma. It is a very good album though, I'm still wondering why it didn't sell back in 1994 when there was only crap in the radio stations.
AWESOME ALBUM All the way through..I have to agree with Sixx on this, but he did say in a interview that they should've named themselves ANY THING but motley Crew, then they would've had a chance, to say the very least...Well written and produced also !!
yeah. then i wake up...and i'm in the middle of the yyz solo....playing it with a large sausage and a wooden spoon..to the crowd's delight. neil is at the front, screaming like a girl
@PROFBOTULISM the MC'94 album was killer....but album sales, and the ensuing tour flat BOMBED. The record label was ready to drop them, and the band was flat in a state of disarray....label execs and management brought Vince and the band back together.
If the label wouldnt fund anymore of Corabi as the lead for the crue then they should have funded another themselves then..........too fast for love was funded by them and look how it turned out.....................RIP John Corabi, u kicked ass
Corabi brought a amazing sound to the crue, sixx and corabi wrote the entire album together, but the crue seriously should had pulled a alter bridge or another animal on us instead slapped a motley label all over the case to gurantee it atleast a certified gold IMO I love both corabi and neil just wish they could have done atleast 1 more with corabi if you like him check out the group "The Scream"
@rollnalucky7 Thats was the record companies decision...either it was under the motley crue name or it wasn't coming out. It and Quaterary(with John) are the only two crue albums I own or will own love Tommy,Nikki, and Mick but Vince couldn't sing before and now he can't even remember all the lyrics to one song live,it's beyond sad.
@rollnalucky7 ....fucken A dude.......i have ALWAYS stood by this album myself !!! To me its most definatley their most accomplished album to date. This will be Motley's hidden gem....\m/\m/
I think this Album was underrated. He's a great vocalist and I liked this album but the record company said to ditch John for Vince or they wouldn't fund production.
I love this song, and the whole album even though it's not Vince. I always thought it was ironic that this song is as aggresive as it is being about weed.
I like John better, but I still like Vince a lot...
It's actually a shame both of them couldn't be in the band.
The "purists" don't have a clue how difficult it is to pull off what some bands do. A lot of people think it's just a big party because that is all they have ever done at a show.
Making music amps me to the max, but I want to collapse mentally and physically afterward, hoping to wake up next to a girl that looks the same as she did the night before.
This Corabi guy rocks, I need this album like yesterday. I love Vince with Motley too but I can appreciate both. I wonder if Corabi would consider working with Slash?
Kiss Ass song and record. I am a die hard Crue fan and didn't appreciate John Corabi and the album when it came out back in 94. However, now 16 yrs later it is one of my favorite Motley records of all time. Corabi rocks on the album. It is louder, harder, and faster than any Motley album. Vince is still what Motley Crue is about, but it be cool if they do a new tour with both Vince and Corabi. But I know it wont happen cuzz of Vince's ego. Long live Motley Crue!
@LONESOMELONERINLIFE Johns been in The Scream, E.S.P (Eric singer project, Union w/Bruce Kukilik, 24/7, Voodooland, Ratt, etc. He's now finally got his 'John Corabi' band on the road.
I saw an interview with Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee and said the reason why the album didn't sell too well because the music was ahead of its time. They also said that the album is being praised for how good it is now as the public finally caught up.
@JC007ish Actually this album didn't sell very well read the book (the dirt) so they decided to get vince back then tommy and vince got into it and thats when tommy left the band.
this comments about Vince or John are useless...the original motley crue is with vince...and vince rulz! motley with john wasn't glam anymore! so...vince wins! but john is cool too but not for motley:)
@Tedakin Had Vince been around to sing them, they would have been shit....just like the Generation Swine album. Motley Crue w/Vince is great glam/sleaze rock....with Corabi, they fucking rocked. Should have changed their name, but still...
dunno why they'd let anyone but vince neil sing, this chap makes em sound like a bad version of anthrax, the original 4 are the best there is the best there was and the best there ever will be!
OK Listen, this album kicks ass!!! This is not Motley.....Well it is but under a different name,,, But never went anywhere cuz people wanted Vince back,,,,,,,, this album kicks ass.....
@krelltech and what vince did with them after this just confirms that he is not nearly capable of doing what john did for this band, i love all motley crue, seen them on there theatre of pain tour, and just about saw them on dr, feelgood, ah, got thrown in the slammer for the night, bummer, but they rule, nothing tops this album though
I will say, I refused to listen to this album when it came out. This is the first time I heard anything off of it. WOW! I'm gonna go buy this record. That was a raucous kickin' fuckin' song!
Yeah this song really kick ass but they were very very underrated at the time. Overshadowed by a Grunge scene. Killer album though. Some kinda mix of Chris Cornell on drugs vocals with rough Pantera sound.
im the most hard core crue fan ever i have a shirt for every day of the month...i used to hate the idea of motley withn out vince but after listeing to the its awsome...would you have them rather not put out album and just sit there while vince was gone
I dont know what album poupas45 listened to,but this doesnt sound anything like an Anthrax tune. Replacing a singer is so difficult to do,but the Crue hit it out of the park on their first attemptw/getting John and they blew it. You dont dump you're hot new girlfriend to get back together w/you're haggard old wife, who has lost her looks and talent!
My opinion is that if Nikki thiught it was a good idea at the time leave it alone. It's his and Tommy's band and look what their up to now. For some it was the Stones, Zep, Sab, and the Mighty Aerosmith. I love them all but this is Motley and the album or C.D. was just some kick ass rock n roll. Those boy's could throw an edge on Rainy night in Georgia. My son's names are Nicholas and Thomas. My ex-wife was sweet about my passions, just not the Jack!
Hooligan's is a great tune but this should have been the first single from a new band with a new name featuring 3/4's of Motley Crue. All of their albums sound unique but this one deserved its' own identity without having to be compared to the Crue's previous catalog. Even if the line-up wouldn't have lasted this album could have had a Temple of the Dog or Phantom, Rocker and Slick collaboration legacy instead of one that alienated their audience cuz this is way mightier than 90's Craptallica.
Corabi fuckn kicked ass!!!!

Actually this cd went platnium. So it sold. It was the record company forcing them to take Vince back.

@JC007ish Actually this album didn't sell very well read the book (the dirt) so they decided to get vince back then tommy and vince got into it and thats when tommy left the band.

Balls-to-the-wall rock... the way Crue was should have been! Best Crue record IMO.
lay1998 1 year ago
I love Vince,
But I liked Corabi better.
This is actually my favorite Crue album.
But I honestly think that if they didn't title the album Motley Crue, it could've done way better. I mean, it kicks ass!
Just saying.

this comments about Vince or John are useless...the original motley crue is with vince...and vince rulz! motley with john wasn't glam anymore! so...vince wins! but john is cool too but not for motley:)
anubiscainerosu 1 year ago
@anubiscainerosu them not being glam was the reason they were better,

John Corabi is awesome
TDGAND 1 year ago
Crue had a few awesome songs with Corabi. Too bad no one noticed. Hooligan's Holiday was great too. I just wish Vince had been around to sing them.
Tedakin 1 year ago
@Tedakin Had Vince been around to sing them, they would have been shit....just like the Generation Swine album. Motley Crue w/Vince is great glam/sleaze rock....with Corabi, they fucking rocked. Should have changed their name, but still...
VisionsMustered 1 year ago
Vince is better.
This singer is not bad, but without vince MOTLEY CRUE INS'T MOTLEY CRUE.

alkhemisti1923 1 year ago
dunno why they'd let anyone but vince neil sing, this chap makes em sound like a bad version of anthrax, the original 4 are the best there is the best there was and the best there ever will be!

sixfeetontop 1 year ago

Slovrag 2 years ago
IMO this is the most bad ass song of the 90's and without a dought most of Crue

MOTLEY CRUE MY FAVORITE BAND BY METAL yeahhhhhhh

This was a good album...but my only flaw was there were too many breakdowns. I did like the one at the end of Hypnotized, though.

This is a killer fuckin tune and album
Singerboy 2 years ago
My opinion is that if Nikki thiught it was a good idea at the time leave it alone. It's his and Tommy's band and look what their up to now. For some it was the Stones, Zep, Sab, and the Mighty Aerosmith. I love them all but this is Motley and the album or C.D. was just some kick ass rock n roll. Those boy's could throw an edge on Rainy night in Georgia. My son's names are Nicholas and Thomas. My ex-wife was sweet about my passions, just not the Jack!
wjp1warrior 2 years ago
Hooligan's is a great tune but this should have been the first single from a new band with a new name featuring 3/4's of Motley Crue. All of their albums sound unique but this one deserved its' own identity without having to be compared to the Crue's previous catalog. Even if the line-up wouldn't have lasted this album could have had a Temple of the Dog or Phantom, Rocker and Slick collaboration legacy instead of one that alienated their audience cuz this is way mightier than 90's Craptallica.
